    "Painting" with sharpies

    Hi Stasy, Jukey, all. I do I paint my Imp squadrons with sharpies, please? With Reb squadrons I simply covered them in a white layer of primer spray; just wondering whether I should cover Imp squadrons in the same white layer first, use another <darker> colour (would the sharpie layer be visible, then, though?) or just use sharpies on the naked plastic. Thanks in advance!
  3. HI all. How do I paint my Imp squadrons? Please notice that I would like to solely use a primer and Sharpies - would not want to engage myself in too-complicated artworks using brush and ink. For Rebs I first sprayed a white primer on them - should I do the same with Imps? Should I use another colour instead? Cheers

    I would probably suggest to consider Vader for your squadrons and to add some black-crit-triggered upgrade for your VSD-I. Very nice list though.
  6. I stopped playing for nearly a year; just restarted one month or so ago. When I took my "Armada-pause" they had just changed to Squadrons cap to 100 rather than 1/3 of the fleet cost; did they revert to the old rule (i.e. max 133 points on squadrons in a 400-point list) or can one still invest 100 points max in squadrons. Thanks in advance.

  8. Hi. I wonder whether the effects of the "Grav shift reroute" would only work at deployment or anytime during the game (i.e. is the grav token removed from the board after deployment?). My doubts originated when reading the following phrase in the official announcement: " Just be sure to place your grav shift token within distance 1–3 of as many obstacles as possible, and you can either fly right through them to score your Dangerous Territory victory points or use them to slow your opponent's progress toward the Fire Lanes objective tokens.     Does FFG hate fighters?

    Lads, I created a list with all that is needed to boost Imperial fighters as much as possible, that is Corrupter + Flight controllers + Chiraneau + Rhymer blablabla. Now: considering that TIEs are extremely fast (bombers have a basic speed of 4), to what avail should I spend points on being able to move them at speed 5 + having them shoot at mediu, distance? I just see an advantage provided by Flight controllers when using Chiraneau, thus to increase speed of "un-pinned squadrons" from 2 to 3. Advice welcome.

    Fighters superiority (speed-wise) is all about acceleration: how long does it take you to move an ISD from speed 0 to speed 2, especially considering the long command chain? It's 3 turns before you increase speed by 1 + another one if you hadn't saved a speed token beforehand. Now: A wings will change speed from 0 to 5 right the same turn you decide that that's your will. Also consider that fighters move at intermediate speeds (you can move fighters anywhere in between speed 0 and their maximum speed), which gives an extra pro for extreme unpredictability.

    Given an engine's power (supposing that power be proportional with engine dimensions), speed depends on the ship's mass the engine have to accelerate, actually.

    CALLING ALL IMPERIAL PLAYERS!!!

    I like the idea of 3 GSDs with 1 couple of squadrons each; looks like pure Imperial strategy to me: run dribbling GSDs in the mouth of your opponent - who bites harder wins. Same with bombers: keep them far away; should there be any enemy fighters, sacrifice the pinned-down one while the others dine with enemy hulls. My highest concern with Imps is indeed: fighters look pretty good at killing other squads (despite the shortfall of their poor shielding) but if there are no enemy fighters to attack.....they will just be wasted points.

    While you are right, B-Wings are slow and unlikely to get to the rear. However, one can use them to drop shields for a nice punch from the activating carrierWish you could have seen my tourny this weekend got 135 off of SP 75 from b wingsI had a game in my last tournament (last weekend) that I gained 23 superior position tokens...I had a total of over 500 points after ships and mov of 395ish so yea, my fighters were pretty great:) Which were attacking at medium range right?sometimes, I had rhymer, 2 bombers, 2 advanced, fel and mithel. He had VVVG + motti (299 points all naked) he is new to the game and put superior position in his objectives so I picked it, flung my bombers at his ships turn one then let him run them over while I flung my fighters. Some of the shots where medium range but most of them were distance 1. Mate, may I ask you the rationale for picking 2 Bombers and 2 Advanced? Why the two advanced? To maximise your squadrons adaptability to mixed confrontation against ships AND squadrons? As for Fel and Mithel: I guess Fel was there to maximise effectiveness against squad screens (don't attack me? a free damage for you) but am wondering whether you also use Mithel in conjunction with Corrupter, that is keeping Mithel engaged with some squadron then activating him and just moving him by 1mm thus to dispense 1 free damage to all the squadrons around. Thank you!
