I’m pretty happy with everything coming for 2.0 combined with what we have. I think the only thing we could be missing is a campaign mode where the outcomes of scenarios persist from one game to the next.
None of the "reprint" expansions contain cards not found in the Conversion Kits. This is fair, else people would get mad.
Well, people always get mad, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯.
I'd expect it in the forthcoming card packs.
I'm afraid a good chunk of this is about you not really being clear about what 2nd Edition was, rather than FFG being at fault.
Was it reasonable to think that you could port your whole squads over unchanged into 2nd Edition? You seem to be the only person who expected that to happen.
It's a new game. That means it's different to the old game. If it wasn't different there wouldn't be any reason to make a new game, would there?
My FLGS's X-Wing crew has, for a variety of reasons, been struggling for some time now. Most nights, we have just two; very rarely, we hit four. It's been this way since about Wave 9, I'd guess. It's been...kinda painful. But we kept the lights on. We kept talking to those people who used to come, and who burnt out on TLT's and Ghosts and endless Palp Aces.
Now we have 2.0. And it was good.
It's difficult to advertise purely by word of mouth when you have only three and a half people's mouths talking. We still managed to get twelve pilots into the shop. And they all left HAPPY. The shop owner is hyped about X-Wing again, and wants to run more tournaments, with better prize support - he even wants to play.
Thank you, FFG, for making the game playable again. It is so good to have access to a fun, social hobby once again.
