  1. One side is using exactly what the card says with no conflict whatsoever with the wording,

     

    the other side is saying "I don't think that is necessarily what the original intent was, so I think we should alter what it says"..

     

    IF we were to disallow it with Vader officially, we would need FFG to say so.  A TO is within his rights to house-rule where it only works on opposing ships tho, I suppose.. but I would recommend such alterations be put in up front and not wait for someone to try it mid-game.

    Ackbar is beatable with good deployment and ship maneuvering.   VSD's have a tough time, but blitzing ISD's and flanking Glads can do well.  Insidious and engine tech Demolisher are great against the conga line.    Cr90's are easy to kill while just worrying about ackbar's broads.   Ackbar is great, and his lists are tough, but still beatable.

     

    What is super hard is to beat ackbar 10-0 or 9-0,  Ackbar hurts, it's a damage race.. getting max or near-max tourney points vs Ackbar takes a lot of luck and outclassing your opponent.

     

    I think we'll be seeing fewer 10-0s in general, not just Akbar, though that may change whenever we see the new MOV chart.

     

     

    I agree, most 10-0/9-1  will be as much to bad rock/paper/scissor matchups as anything.  Will be interesting to see some folks with worse win/loss records be ranked higher due to close losses in big tourneys.

    Which gives you a second attack from an equipped turret upgrade. Question stands.

     

     

    It also lets you fire your primary weapon from the special firing arc.  Questions sits. 

     

    So based on this article, without a docked shuttle the rear arc is torp only.

AF's are better in multis with ackbar, they can take gunnery teams.   Def want one,  IMO only reason for 2 is if you play over-400 fun games,  squeezing 2+ mc80's into 400 points instead of AF's gets inefficient, the cool upgrades you can play with on MC80 become unaffordable with multis,  and you get more red dice over multiple targets with more AF's.


  6. Went to my 2nd tourney today,  after dominating Saturday, using the same list I stunk up the joint Sunday, losing 1-9 to a guy I beat 10-0 yesterday (both fun games, he was happy for revenge)..  BUT only 4 players and top 2 only play Imps so went 0-2 and took home a MC-80  to match up with my ISD yesterday.  Not shabby.
