  1. Not a legal defenestration. No glass, so the assumption is that he was thrown through a window but actually it was just a hole in the wall.
  2. It is freshly baked and topped with real butter, while Dras undercooked everything else.
  3. Do systems just all have 3 armed stations, or is there a cost to construct them?
  4. Incorrect. APT does 1 damage if you roll a crit. Therefore, the expected damage of APT is entirely dependent on your chance to roll a crit. The formula would be p*1 where p equals your probability to roll a crit. Using the OP's MC30 as an example, there are 3 black die on the sides and 2 black on the front. The Expected Damage of APT on a Side Arc shot with Ordinance Experts would be (3 Choose 1)*(.25^1 *.75^2) + .25 * (3 Choose 1) * (.25^1 *.75^2) = .5273 Damage The Expected Damage of APT on a Front Arc shot with Ordinance Experts would be (2 choose 1)*(.25^1*.75^1) + .25* (2 choose 1)*(.25^1*.75^1) = .3515 Damage Therefore, for a double arc'ed shot on a MC30, APT will add .8788 Damage and the chance to get crit effects through shields. Since the 2.5 Damage of EL is 184% larger than .8788 and the 12 point cost of EL is only 140% larger than 5 point cost of APT, Expanded Launchers are actually undercosted. Biggs, I think you just got frekkin pwned. Like...circa 2005 pwned. Watch out, Maths, there's a new sheriff in town and he's Latin.* *Italy/Roman empire Latin, not South-central America latin. The math is off. 3 black dice with a reroll will roll 1 critical far more than 52% of the time. I think his numbers are without the oe rather than with.
  5. similar rewards, but you save 8 points with APT. So think of it as, APT + Admonition, or expanded launchers?
  6. I've considered it, but it's about 8 hours compared to Salt Lake's 6. Step it up and make the 12 hours to Vegas.
  7. I can't answer the rest, but I can point this out: You\ll notice that North American Championships are at GenCon time and will be at GenCon again... Furthermore, Nationals are much wider open floating, they're wanting to get MORE Cons in with big Tournaments - and this allows them to de-shackle them from Regionals and look instead of bigger events, especially with nationals and such... WIth X-Wing having such things as the System Open, I wouldn't be at all surprised if Armada started to get similar as well as they work through, to hit those Convention-Season things. So you win GenCon in July/Aug for an entry into world's 10 months later? It's all good in the long run.
  8. I fell just short of repeating my 506-0 from last round by about 700 points. Grats WhatsArmadaWithYou Konstantine with no g-8 is no Bueno vs demsu
  9. Xi7's are worth it against a number of ships, if they don't have ecm ready all you need is one acc for the brace or evade, and the only options they have are redirect 1 point. It's effects are mitigated a bit by mon karren, but if you hit the acc it's still very useful, worth the six.
  10. Interdictors are not worth it if you are tacking one on to a list. It needs to be the central ship of your build, and then it's totally worth it either for movement control or tanking. It's low damage output for cost needs to be built around.

  12. Probably using the latest updated rules.. it's 11 point system now, no more 5-5
  13. For elimination round fleets, are the spoiled squadrons from the campaign legal?
  14. Daht Although I dont think we need blank firing arc salvo information. Needless grey box Sometimes blank information is the best information. It's accurate for the g-75 at least.
  15. better graphics are better. If the engine/server can handle them, load it up
  16. That's actually a tell tale sign of low self esteem and seeking recognition to prove self worth but I definitely see where it could come across as bragging. Though, is it any less than those who post their accomplishments such as Vassal Winners, people who post top 8's and the like? Bragging usually is a tell tale sign of low self esteem and seeking recognition to prove self worth.... Posting on an accomplishment that just happened is different, or having a signature with stuff in it, this is about casual public conversation.
  17. One legal difference is a VSD is allowed to fly within 1000 feet of a school.
  18. You were playing Konstantine with 500 points on half a map. Konstantine is a force multiplier. Grav well is also much stronger when you are playing with a more limited deploy zone. With a full field you can avoid every ship getting caught every turn, and to afford 3 medium ships with a stacked interdictor means they run light or have zero fighter support at 400 points, making the vic's more vulnerable. The control lists pay for their shenanigans with weaknesses in other areas. In tournament play it presents another rock/paper/scissor build with mass bombers, shipkillers, and msu builds.... it is very hard to build something strong against all 4 basic meta types.. but I *like* that as it opens up the meta as going too hard in one template risks facing a hard counter, but I understand the flip opinion. I can also see hating having to play any of the single-purpose meta builds, especially if you get stuck with a bad objective or build to fight it, but to me that is a big part of the game and it's appeal, variety and builds, deployment, scenario all having the potential to derail you early, and having to plan well to avoid it or improvise well to recover.
  19. So you only lost by 75 and it was a 500 point game with a set objective and he automatically got to go first cuz campain rules? You have totally convinced me the new wave 3/4 imperials are broken.
  20. Very hard to self test against msu since so much of countering them is catching them... you either always know where they are going, or they always know how to get around your moves Playing ISD's against them pre waves 3/4, you don't worry about going 10-0 and just pick targets. If player 1, you can catch enough of them to stay ahead on points if your big ships are built as shipkillers, if player2, have objectives that punish spreading out.
  21. The issue is you say it constantly.. if someone new is setting up to play you casually and says something like "well, I'm new at this" and you say one time "well I'm pretty good, been playing awhile. If you have any questions let me know" once that isn't a big deal. Here in the forums where pretty much all the regulars know you still hear you reference how good you are quite often, frequently while being defensive about a casual or even helpful comment. Just play good. Everyone has an instinct to brag a bit or desire to let folks know if they are talented at something.. just let your play (not just wins/losses but good games) make your reputation, you don't need to soapbox it. If you have a thought or advice for someone, just give it... don't preface it with "well I placed xth in this big tourney" or "I win most of my games and.." or "when I won blank I found that".. there are times and places for that, but it's usually not in general or casual conversation. Good advice is good advice, no matter the source. Just giving good advice lets people know your good at the game without you having to tell them.
  22. Tiny hands and a bad rug, he's the Imperial Donald Trump.
  23. I have a Tournament I set up this Sunday that will likely fall flat by the looks of it but after that I likely wont hold anything for a time. . . we shall see. This is true for vassal sure but people remember the bad far more than they remember the good so I fear that when I return, even a small misstep will cause another ostracization and this worries me greatly. . . In "real life" it's harder than vassal to repair the damge... which is why you want to ease back.... assuming others also set up tourneys, wait out a few, then look to rejoin the group in casual play before dropping back into a tournament, and do so quietly... don't project the problem by publicly asking or announcing anything.. maybe talk to the guy running the tourney you want to slip back into. Don't try to explain your break, just apologize to anyone you need to openly and move on. Having a guy that knows you well to talk with about it is good, public discourse about the why's and how's of it with people that you just see at the games is not. If you make returning to the game a big deal with a story and specific apologies and explanations, you lose any ground you get from the space.... just take a break, and ease back in. Talk to folks you know well and already understand your issues directly to work out your anxieties and frustrations with it.
  24. Are we going to have model-to-model collision detection? Get that full ffg tabletop feel? I'm digging it. Definitely interested in whatever campaign system you come up with.
