Yeah the fact that someone starts a thread like the OP does and then acts shocked when he gets responses in kind is something I find both funny and sad at the same time.Plus there were a number of reasonable posts made before anything even remotely negatives was said. Not shocked at all. Forums = flamewars 90% of the time. If the main reason for "balance/fix" is the lack of use then start working on other ships too. The syk, defender, HWK, can't say x wing because people use Biggs/Wedge. It is a competitive game where they add upgrade cards into ship packages that suck so people buy them for the cards. They could have spent a wave to revisit the problem children of each faction. There will come a point in time when there is too many ships for all to see play and or a set of ships that you would be hurting your own chances of you didn't run (some say fat turrets for this now)
  2. Still want to defend him, Darius? Why defend anyone when you all immediately jump to conclusions? I disagree with their choice of balancing for the tie advanced. Instead of constructed pros and cons most of you jumped down my throat. Then someone got hurt and offended by my language. I stopped posting and you all carried on for 4 pages.   4. Sithborg pointed out 4 different cases where A-Wings used prockets and made it to the final 8. So no they're not a bad idea on an A-Wing, not if you make good use of them. Also people have made great use of the A as a blocker. I dunno VS. Reading this thread is a bit like he's playing hangman and every post earns him another letter, right now he's at RIB...   5. A quick perusal of the Regional thread showed be 4 Jakes with Proton Rockets. Keep in mind, this is in the top 8. So, not only showing up, but winning. Read what you quoted... I said how many A's have you seen without rockets. Pocket rockets are retarded on an A. Using them as blockers works but they pop really fast even with thrusters.
  6. When talking about the A-Wing "fix" you can't ignore the A-Wing Test Pilot title. The refit by itself was enough to make Prototypes cheap enough to toss one or two into a list as cheap blockers but the ability to take a second EPT was huge for the named pilots. The EPT you still pay for instead of a free up to 4 point sensor and after that just costing -4.... Yes test pilot is okay so you can bump jake and arvel to Vi or predator and push. Gemmer only gets one which is odd since even the greens get 2 And if you are gonna complain that advanced don't get used I know someone who still uses vader in the advanced because they like him.
  7. I was trying to more compare the "fixes" to each ship not the ships themselves. Where the average missile cost is 4 granted only a one use type thing but those proton rockets on an A can hurt bad. Now the missiles on any A wing got increased in cost by 2 since you now have to sacrifice refit to put one on. The advance sacrifices nothing for its new "fix" and even can get that fancy new tie only engine making all banks green. How many A wings have you seen without rockets since refit in tournament play?
  8. A wings have to lose their missile slot to reduce 2 points and you go and give tie advanced a free guaranteed two hit results or free add a crit result to your attack??? So rediculously stupid! You should make an imperial only free upgrade that gives them all 12 attack at any range lmfao.
  9. It happens because I run YT-2400 outrider with hlc or mangler. And every instance I say what I am firing with and usually no extra evades (unless asteroid) never so far has the forced reroll come up worse then the miss roll. And the opponents always giggle when they go from damage to no damage. Also let me point out it is never on the first attack I do. I believe any re roll offers too much benefit. I also see where someone is saying good faith or mistakes happen... Yes but if you have an opponent make a movement mistake that puts them in a bad position do you let them re do that movement? Me personally it should be the opponent (me) chooses the dice from your roll that now count similar to how a stressed red maneuver punishes the opponent.
  10. So I have come across a few times my opponent rolling too many defense dice... Now they always choose to just re roll the proper amount when I state they have rolled too many even when their results are bad. Can we get a ruling on the proper procedure for this situation? Because I don't see it as fair letting them get a free reroll because they rolled too many. Same goes with attacks if you grab one too many on accident what should be done to rectify? Mind you I ask because the re roll is always better in the situations I have been in. And I do not enjoy going from hitting to missing because they rolled too many dice the first time.
  11. Okay so if I were to choose a movement that overlaps an asteroid BUT upon attempt to complete the move I bump and must move backwards until I get to a clear spot. Am I supposed to roll a damage for overlapping the asteroid with my movement still? Or do I avoid it because I bump into a bump that places me in the clear of the asteroid?
