  3. Thanks for the feedback! While Fearlessness sounds awesome, I really have my doubts that a 4 HP ship with PS 7 and no form of repositioning will make it into range 1 of your opponents ark and staying alive to get his missiles off. So yeah, thumbs up for style points, but I can't really see it working here. To be fair I'm considering swapping Cluster Missiles for a 3rd Harpoon though. Honestly the list is really only looking for a cheap 3rd Harpoon Carrier, so I guess changing Cluster to Harpoons seems like a decent choice. Yeah definately something to consider I had Stim already in the list but swapped it to Crane instead. I guess I can see both working. Yeah LW is nice on NDru, played him about a year ago this way. Not sure if I like it more than Dead Eye when he carries a Harpoon though. Munition Failsafe is free on him, so since there's nothing else I might as well take it Yeah it's pretty similar to his list I guess. My list with Serissu basically looks the same as yours, only thing is that I want Extra Muni on Nym and can't really find anything to get that last point.   4. I'm planning to bring a list for an upcoming tournament that features Nym and Sixxa with a ton of loadout. Pointwise I have no problem to run either Harpoons or Homing Missiles, however I'm not sure which one is the better fit here. Harpoons have the benefit that I also run 2 TLT which combos nicely (although I'd only would have 2 points for an initiative bid). Homing seem like they would fit the theme quite well too. Since I run Crackshot and Long Range Scanners while only being PS 6 and 8 Homing seem like a good fit to hunt down aces like Soontir, Fenn and Co. Any advice which one to bring? Thanks in advance!

I'd assume it's a bit weaker though since you have to make compromises here and there while in the Nym & Sixxa list both ships get everything you desire.

On paper the list looks like a ton of fun to play imo especially since it's full of synergistic effects: - Minefield Mapper and 2 Clusters means the option to drop 6 bomb tokens before the game even begins and thanks to EM you still have some left for the remaining game - Cad Bane seems to have found his place; with that many bombs he seems like a great fit into the list I like how the list is a bit different compared to the usual Nim+VI dodgy list and trades this for a more brutal loadout with Crack Shot. I'm definately gonna try out the list this week and see how it goes. The only change I'd make would be to change the Guidance Chips into Long Range Scanners. Having a pair of Homing Missiles guaranteed on your first brawl sounds great imo. Also since Homing leave the TL up you will have TL and Focus available anyway, so GC are less needed imo. Anyone played the list out so far or maybe played against it? Would really like to hear if it's as cool on the table as it looks on paper.
  7. After reading Phil's article about the new Veskai Khiraxz I started tinkering about my own list. I really like the combination of Nym and Talonbane on paper actually since both can dish out a reasonable amount of damage in their alpha strike at PS 9 / 10. For the remaining points I considered Serissu, also with a missile, but with a useful setup it's 2 points too expensive. So I added NDru, which can hit quite hard just as well. I consider him a suicide alpha striker actually that probably won't last long. Any feedback? : )
  8. Yeah I see, fair enough. Most people I know that play 6+ ship lists I would consider among the better and veteran players though. On the other hand: since they've become pretty rare, I could see people making mistakes against them too because of lack of experience. Yeah I've seen most changes but mostly only from reading, not by playing. I guess Harpoons can be nasty, true. On the other hand as you say they also bring a few tricks, like suiciding a harpooned Tie into your opponents ships for example. Or as you say simply let that poor guy die and avoid splash. The reason why I'm asking is that we're having a small tournament with about 20 people this weekend and I'm considering bringing one of my long time favourite lists: Howlrunner + Crackshot / 3 Black Squad + Crackshot / 3 Academy or Soontir + PTL, Thrusters, TC / Howlrunner + Crackshot / 3 Black Squad + Crackshot Not sure yet, we'll see. Thanks for the feedback anyway though! : )

Our group is getting back into X-Wing after almost a year of break and we're still figuring out what is going on ; ) Back in the early days Tie Swarms (both 6, 7 or 8 of them) where a brute force but got seen less and less the more waves and other ships came out. When we stopped playing Tie Swarms where pretty rare, but once in a while someone would field them and show that they where still relevant. I looked through meta-wing and there was only one list I found which performed decent ... not that great, but not bad either. Are Tie Swarms still a thing today or have they been powercreeped too much?

Dutch and Esege seem to fit the alpha strike theme decently, so I though I give it a shot but had no time to test it out yet. Any critique?
  11. Can't provide much input on Han, but wouldn't RAC be a better solution? Han relies on his elite slot pretty heavily to boost his damage (either with Pred, Ex or PTL) while RAC can use VI more easily. Having said that Vader makes for a great wingman for him, also being able to use VI nicely. Not sure how great that list would be against something like superfriends though.
  12. They where quite a thing a while back but since Jumpmasters got released it seems like no one cares about them anymore. I haven't played them myself really but speaking as their opponent I felt they where very competitive back, especially beacause their real counters where only few (imo). So ... any ideas why Jumpmasters have driven them out of the meta? Or maybe something else has, as said I really have no idea.
  13. After playing X-Wing almost exclusively for about 1,5 years our group took a break starting last summer playing other games. During that half year it seems like the meta changed pretty dramaticly and there is quite a lot of variation, even more than before Triple Scouts became popular back then. So my question would be, looking at all these diverse lists, how can it be that allstar popular lists from half a year ago or even older seem to have almost disappeared? - Soontir, Vader and Co are almost gone - haven't seen many TLT Y-Wings - haven't seen Brobots yet - Dash doesn't show up either - for some reason the 4 Tie Bomber list couldn't take the spot that 3 Deadeye Scouts left - the pretty pre-hyped Fenn Rau doesn't show up often too - swarms with 5-8 ships seem to be pretty rare now - haven't found a Stresshog anywhere Tbh I wouldn't really bother much if the meta would consist of only 2-3 (favour of the month) lists that would define what's played and what's not. But since it seems to be pretty diverse I couldn't really find a reason why these former strong lists, pilots etc seem to have lost a lot in popularity. Would be cool if someone could clarify, thanks a lot in advance
  14. The best part of X-Wing? The game is pure fun, the ships are awesome, the rules are easy to get and hard to master, the players are great and most people just want to have a good time, even at tournaments. The worst part of X-Wing? The online community that is just soo negative. Honestly, reading this forum is annoying most of the time. ... to be fair, your question leaves room for interpretation
  15. I think it wouldn't be a wise idea to tie initiative with your ability to win or lose a game. You probably can build and fly a list that simply will deny all it's points for 75 minutes and then take the victory. Also such kind of ruling would encourage slow play, which is something nobody should support. Honestly I can't think of a simple way to fix this "we'll remove draws completely from the game" issue. Even though ID's may have been unpopular for some, they never had or would have had that much impact on the game as this new ruling will have.
