  1. I've been holding back saying this for fear of a backlash, but every time I see a Rebel Veterans thread it keeps popping into my mind. Is Heroes of the Resistance not the Rebel Veterans equivalent expansion? I'm sure I've heard it said by one of the FFG developers in a youtube clip.

EDIT: PS I should say I really want a proper Rebel Veterans expansion before anyone shoots me down... I'm just not holding my breath for anytime soon.

  2. The Tantive and Leia. It's the biggest issue I have with the film. Just felt lazy. There is no good reason for Leia to be there.

If the Tantive had been where it was and ran off and picked up Leia then fine. It's not the Tantive itself. It's a ship that can fight so has as much reason as any other ship to be involved I. That sense.

But there is literally no good reason given for Leia to be on a ship in a warzone at that point.

We can head canon our reasons (I love Star wars but we really ought to be good at that by now lol) but they are all bad reasons!

If we says it's an all hands on deck change of plans to throw the ship in with the fleet, I'd have been happier seeing the Tantive jump out to Tatooine with the plans and have Leia rendezvous there to have them handed to her.

That delay could then be used to explain how Vader catches up with them instead of them just running and coming back for Obi-Wan once the plans are safely delivered.

Oh well we are stuck with it now, I'm hoping something comes along to give a decent canon explanation.

I don't think I have a problem with the Tantive being there... even with Leia being aboard.

I just want to know how C3PO and R2-D2 got from standing around in the Hanger in Yarvin 4 watching the world go by to being in the thick of the battle at such short notice. Because they must be on board... right?

  3. The problem with every t-65 fix is that those letters and numbers appear precisely nowhere in game. That card could literally never be equipped because the designation for it doesn't exist in game.

It would have to be x-wing only, rebel alliance only.

    Rookie pilot card states T-65

But I get your point. X-Wing only (not T-70)

  4. Forgive me if I'm wrong but I've searched and not seen any mention of it as a Homebrew idea or featured in a "Fix" thread. (and I hate myself right now for bringing it up, but...)

The T-65AC4 X-wing boasted many improvements over earlier models. It was much faster than the older T-65, with a sublight speed comparable to that of the RZ-1 A-wing interceptor. It was also capable of withstanding and causing significant damage, much more so than previous designs.[1] It was equipped with heavy laser cannons and more advanced proton torpedoes as well as an increased torpedo complement of eight compared to the six carried by older models.[2]The T-65AC4 was also easier to fly thanks to a new cockpit layout and improved flight capabilities.[1]

    Ideas for a Title card (?) X-Wing T-65 only

When you reveal a straight maneuver you MUST increase the speed by 1.

Your Shields are increased by 1 and your upgrade bar gains the [Cannon] upgrade icon.

    2 bank maneuvers are green.

As far as I can tell it fits with the description above. I don't like the cannon bit but a faster, easier to fly and more durable X-Wing is the stuff dreams are made of.

So why is this not a thing?.... Legends

  5. I too am close to completion of all the released expansions. So far I have one of everything except: Imperial Assault Carrier, Protectorate Fighter and TIE s/f.

    Of Wave X: I have U-wing on pre-order.

I have a spreadsheet that documents my spending over the last two years so I can demonstrate that my habit is cheaper than my wife's.

I get to share mine with the family, hers goes up in smoke.

  6.

    Should be fun to try:

    Captain Oicunn (42)
    Expert Handling (2)
    Hotshot Co-pilot (4)
    Navigator (3)
    Kylo Ren (3)
    Ion Projector (2)
    Dauntless (2)

    "Whisper" (32)
    Veteran Instincts (1)
    Collision Detector (0)
    BoShek (2)
    Advanced Cloaking Device (4)

    Total: 97

Do you really want to run the risk of an action-less Wisper.... Oh the horror.

Or do you think BoSHek on whisper will activate when Oicunn bumps?

  7. Excellent a T-47 airspeeder in wave XI to go with the other atmospheric ship just introduced.

Title Card T-47 only, 0 points, Dual card: "Make sure you closed that F*****g vent!" Flip this card before moving into the space area of the Hoth mat otherwise instant Death!

Atmosphere side: gain 1 green dice

    Space side: not dead.

  8. I hope you all like my contribution to the bluffing portion of X-Wing!

If you don't quote Princess Bride at least once while playing against this, you're doing something wrong. :)

    Inconceivable!

  9. Can you imagine ZETA ACE* doing a 1 hard turn and then BR twice to move 5 sideways and 1 backward to end up next to you shooting you in the ear.

*When performing a barrel roll, you may use the [sTRAIGHT 2] (instead of the [sTRAIGHT 1] template).

EDIT: It might be a fun mechanic to add ZETA's use of the 2 Straight template to anyone who wants it. Have Double BR in your action bar --> use a 2 Straight template instead

  10.

I been trying to find players but there seems no one playes around my neck of woods I found 3 stores that a sell xwing but most people i run in to only play by them self's our with one our 2 friend

Tell me about it. I live in Northern Ireland, where practically no-one plays. I have *one* friend who I play with about once a week, but my other friends need a bit more convincing to play.

There's a site I use to test squad builds; X-Wing Squadron Benchmark. It's not ideal, but there is a very simple AI that will play against you. It's good for learning as it won't let you do anything outside the rules. You do have to set up the asteroids and the opposition, but it is actually good fun in its own right and a good alternative if you cannot get a regular game with real people.

    X-Wing Squadron Benchmark: https://xws-bench.github.io/bench/#

The Interceptor is a good ship to practice with here. Try to maneuver so that you have shots on the enemy while minimizing their shots on you. I feel like if you can grasp arc-dodging, it goes a long way in improving your overall sense of the game.

Tom1132 Come to the Isle of Man for the TT and bring your X-Wing!

  11. OMG the RSI from using my mouse wheel to scroll down and click "load more topics" is just too much!

One saving grace is the RSI induced from clicking has been prevented as at least they saved me the trouble of entering the thread with the [CCL] label so clearly defined at the start if the topic title.

Hang on... my tongue is starting to hurt now... I best remove it from my cheek...

  12. The very first squad build that demonstrated the importance of synergy and action economy to me was the rebel XXXY build with:

    • Garvin Dreis [After spending a focus token, you may place that token on any other friendly ship at Range 1-2 (instead of discarding it).]
    • Dutch Vander [After acquiring a target lock, choose another friendly ship at Range 1-2. The ship may immediately acquire a target lock.]
    • Biggs Darklighter + R2-D2 [Other friendly ships at Range 1 cannot be targeted by attacks if the attacker could target you instead. + After executing a green manoeuvre, you may recover one shield (up to your shield value).]
    • Rookie Pilot

Every turn both Garvin and Dutch got focus and TL without the risk of being shot because of Biggs... and It was the Rookie that actually killed everything as he shot last.

After this it was simply a case of thinking up ways to get different pilots and upgrades to work. Some with great success and others... mmyeh not so great but appear to be wicked on paper but are just too situational.

  13.

The solution is very simple - create missions instead of a series of dogfights.

Isn't (and I use this term lightly) "The Big Problem" the fact that there are missions, and their play appears to be in the Minority?

Only because the tournament format is the 100/6 dogfight, so competitive players use this format in casual games for practice. If a campaign box revolved around mission, people would play those missions as part of the campaign.

There are two campaign boxes out there, one is called Imperial Raider the other Tantive IV. They are awesome by the way, though the mission amount could have been bigger, about twice as big would have been nice.

I don't have all the Huge ships, but I noted that the Transport has a campaign. With one mission requiring THREE Transports! And you thought buying a Raider for the Advanced fix was rough!

Oh and racism has no place in SW. Speciesism, sure, but not racism. And that's all I gots to say bout dat.

But it's ok to be droidist!
