  1. I would not call the Outrider one "easy" in the slightest(the problem in 1e was most certainly not combos involving Jan Ors), nor would I think of the Guri that way.
  2. The Tie swarm was significantly better than pretty much any X-wing grouping you can think of back then. It was less because of some weird lack of adherence to lore, but that the designers at the time didn't really value things as correctly as they could have. The Y-wing being a TLT carrier exclusively is because of how ordnance was a really messed up design. FFG finally made a worthwhile turret upgrade, and probably ended up making it too worthwhile.
  3. The K-turn is a super favorable maneuver to a jouster, and having the possibility of a bump helps add risk to it. A blue maneuver is not anywhere near as favorable.
  4. Who knows how good these will be without the prices?
  5. I actually find the game good, so understanding it improved my appreciation of it, rather than detracted from it. That's how good games work- you learn more about them, how to win, and it makes the game feel better.
  6. To me the other gunner effects being cheaper and generally better but requiring some guess work strikes me as the right balance.
  7. I don't think you're gonna get reveal articles in an AMA.
  8. I don't really think the Luke card is the end of the world here- a lot of the things that made the fat turrets what they are just don't exist any more- at best, I think we're at v1 chewie-leebo levels of power, which if that's your problem, you suck at the game.

    Horton Salm viable?

Pretty much. If you give him mobility and more durability, you get into a low point miranda cost, and miranda is much, much better than horton for a variety of reasons.

    Horton Salm viable?

The advantage of TLT is that you don't need to buff the shots in the first place, and you pay a heavy premium to get the buff on a ship that can die really quickly.
  11. I imagine the 2400 will not have a gunner slot.
  12. To put it in perspective, Dash lost: Double-actions Synergies between PTL and Kyle/Kanan Two arcs worth of firing Boost Dash gained: A 3 die attack at range 1. Somehow this is a massive buff and imperials will never work. Imperial fanboys are some of the worst.
  13. I find it difficult to take seriously anyone who says Dash got a big buff.
  14. lol did you know in the EU that boshek was a force user
  15. Maybe, but it feels like we're already at RotJ Han with marauders asking him to be a leader- the only real reason for him to turn them down is that he needs to get to tatooine and get the falcon. It doesn't really fit with the rest of the movie. But then, I think the last 30 minutes doesn't really fit with the rest of the movie. I can buy a starry-eyed altruistic Han getting in with Beckett's crew, getting double-crossed, having to kill Beckett by shooting him first, and then ending up being a jaded scoundrel at the end. I don't really buy what actually played out in the last 30 minutes of the movie.
  16. IMO the big problem was Han being altruistic all the way through- it would've worked better if he had basically learned Beckett's lessons by the end of the movie and ended up as jaded as he was, instead of just being the same person. It makes no sense for someone who believed enough to give the stuff to these marauders to then decide 'you know what, these gangsters in tatooine seem like a good idea'
  17. I would absolutely have been on board with a Beckett/Val/Rio/Han/Chewie ensemble movie as they had very solid chemistry throughout- such a movie would've had more time to have character moments and maybe make Han more likeable and show him learning from the others in the crew. I think I would've found Han's piloting more believable with some learning from Rio, maybe even some kind of montage. I would've absolutely been on board with a movie that didn't just end with Han going to Tatooine with the Falcon. It was bizarre to me to see Han being so altruistic at that point, if they're tying it in to Han in ANH. The Marauders being revealed as rebel agents was actually a really good reveal managed really poorly(like much of act 3). I would've been satisfied with that being the movie's connection to the main plot line. The Maul reveal was a wet fart that was incoherent.
  18. I think the ending ended up being really lukewarm and out of left field in order to set this up. She shoulda betrayed Han to his face- it would have served the ending better, showed a change in his character that justifies his shooting first rather than what we got.
  19. I strongly disliked the Maul reveal because it didn't make sese in the movie. I would strongly have preferred one of the marauders to have been Saw, as it would have allowed them to cut a lot of extraneous dialogue from them. The Han shooting first scene would've been better-earned had his gf betrayed him to his face beforehand and Harrelson pretty much been proved right all along, leading into a jaded Han.
  20. Yeah, in the EU so many people got force sensitivity for some reason- I think it's the kind of thing where the protagonist eventually ends up having to do everything an SW character can do, so they all become jedi.
  21. When I started playing, I ran up against a murderer's row of fat turrets, superdash, fat han, RAC, etc. I played 5 Z-95s and a YV where previously I used 4 Z-95s and 2 ion hogs. It taught me a lot about the game, honestly, and when i started playing turrets and big ships later on, the knowledge really helped, but I always found the fatties beatable. I mean, if people are expecting 58+ point ships to go down to a stiff breeze, they're nuts, but if you get guns on them they will die eventually- Miranda was always worse than the fatties, IMO, because Miranda could regen and had so many escape valve moves, whereas superdash's escape valve was generally more predictable. I suspect in 2.0 it'll be harder to get the action economy to make the dice go crazy. A lot of hemming and hawing over the MF title+Han's ability defensively, but if you get the thing bumped(and it no longer has a 1-hard any more, a staple of my previous play), it can't get the evade token it needs to proc the title and reroll. The passive offense mods of gunner+predator are gone, as are PTL for TL+F. Even with the Luke Crew as it was, i'm curious as to what he does, and what he costs. Dealing with ships like that isn't that bad, IMO. If you want lists that were extremely onerous to the more casual lists, well, there was palpaces. Authothrusters wasn't a bad idea but the range 3 stipulation was... ill-advised. I'm guessing the reason why the 1300 lost the 1-hard is because the juke between 1-hard(boost) and 4-straight/3-bank(boost) made it too hard to chase down.
  22. I also loathed Vader Down because it kinda makes the Force more like crazy DBZ stuff rather than the more subtle thing of th emovies.
  23. Oh hey, another salty imperial fanboy
  24. It also appears to be significantly more difficult to get good action economy out of those ships.
