  1. Hey, I just started a few weeks ago, and I ended up buying Khazad-Dum after the core set, and then Return to Mirkwood AP for Dain Ironfoot(holy heck he feels like cheating). That has worked pretty well for me. I feel like I can reliably beat the first quest in Khazad-Dum, and I'm going to go back and try Escape from Dol Goldur for my first foray into two-handing it. The hard part is not just buying a ton of stuff so I have a ton more cards to play with. I'm trying to stick to beating quests with only the cards that were available when the particular quest came out.
  2. I think leaving Ordnance Experts off the MC30s is giving up way too much damage and consistency. I would turn the Salvation into another GR75, an OE on each MC30, and then put the rest in to more squads. You really want to make sure you have lots of squads, or Sato will end up being 32 dead points in your list.
  3. Bolding my own for emphasis. This is the only good idea for a boarding style effect I have seen on this forum. No new messy rules, just a flavorful upgrade. Very clever. Call it Breaching Charges or something like that. Maybe limit it to being in range 1 of the target.
  4. Opening Salvo tickles me too, but I can never really tell what kind of fleet to use it in. It seems like it might be good in a MSU so you get as many extra dice as you can, but little ships are delicate, and giving your opponent two extra dice could give them the a greater chance of one-shotting your little ships. I am working on a Sato list with Salvation, Scout Frigate Admonition, and Paragon. It's lower on activations, but I think it can make really good use of Opening Salvo.
  5. Dodonna is very good if you build your list right. Rebels have multiple effects that let you bypass shields to deal face-up damage cards, and he works great with bombers as well, which Rebels happen to love. Madine is really good with MC30s and Libertys. It let's your MC30s double-arc more easily, which is devastating, and with Madine, the Liberty can do some pretty insane flying to keep that monster front arc where you want it. Garm is almost unused in my meta, but there are Wave 5 cards like Ahsoka Tano(Sp?) who make having tokens much better. HE gives you a very flexible fleet. Cracken and Mothma do a lot to up the survivability of your smaller, more delicate ships.
  6. That Interceptor card is hot fire. Love that art.
  7. I have never been shooting at a Motti ISD and thought it needed to be tougher. The ISD strikes a really good balance of power, toughness, and cost. You pay top dollar for the premiere ****-kicker, and I don't feel like it needs any tweaking.
  8. I am seeing people mention Snipe as a way to take down Intel without having to chew through Escorts, but I am not convinced that is actually going to be that effective. Snipe doesn't let you ignore Escort. So you have to manage to be at Range 2 of the Intel squad, but also not at Range 1 of an Escort squad. It seems like it won't be much work to position your Intel so that Escort is still protecting it, at least as the engagement is starting. And E-Wings only Snipe 3. You are going to need 3 or more E-Wings sniping a Dengar to get him worrying. Sniping might work better against Rebels as Jan has no Scatter and thus takes damage more consistently.

  10. I do like to hear that you had success with Paragon. That is a ship I have been trying to make work for a while, and it never felt that potent. Did you use the MKIIA, or the B? Also, any turbolaser upgrade?
  11. Yeah. Something like an MC30 torp with H9s, or big arcs like the ISD or Liberty, make it way too dangerous to not have constant access to that Brace.
  12. I sort of like Headhunters with Blount plus Flight Controllers and Toryn Farr. I don't know if it is efficient or effective, but it seems cute and who doesn't like rerolling 3 dice per attack?
  13. I have used it with Rieekan and Wedge to decent effect. Let the enemy pounce on your squadrons, they likely put Wedge in to Heroic Death Mode, then you blast back with 2 blue AA from a MKII A, pour damage on to the enemy squadrons all while adding the damage to Wedge, who is likely dead anyway. All the fun, none of the fuss. And as others have said, you get Toryn Farr in there and the AA becomes pretty consistent. Also, Ruthless Strategist gets around those obnoxious Scatter tokens that Imperials have in spades.
  14. Ruthless Strategist is actually pretty decent on MKII A. Just dump the damage on to something cheap with lots of hull like a Y-wing, or a zombie Wedge/Luke who are already "dead".
