All, just a reminder that Comic Store West in York, PA will host store championships on Saturday, February 27th. Registration will begin at 10 AM and first round play will start at 11 AM. There will be a $10 entry fee. Please PM me or post here if you think you will be coming or know anyone who would be interested. Format is 400 pt fleet builds with 2 hr 15 min rounds (had to shorten them a little for owner, but we should be okay). Again, let me know if you think you are coming and hopefully we have a great turnout!

Glad to see the interest is still alive and kicking! Just got a message from a new player last night interested in learning Armada, so hopefully 2016 is as good as FFG is pushing. Hope you can make it Darth, but I know how the family weekend time can be . . .

Just wanted to bump this up the list in case anyone around Houston is interested in meeting up somewhere near the airport (HOBBY) to play a 400 pt game tomorrow night.
i would love to try out my 2 ISD build. Let me know via PM or posting here. Thanks

Totally random reach out, but I will be travelling in Houston this coming Thursday (Dec. 17th) and was wondering if someone wanted to meet up for a game in the later evening?
I will be staying near the Hobby airport. Respond to message or PM me if interested in getting up.

Indy also has lots of up and coming craft breweries. Lots of good local beer coming out of there now (as I have done some work in that city as well).

I would love to come for this out but would need to get the okay from the wife. I already travel a lot for work and leaving her alone with our 4 and 2 year old boys on a weekend while I go play awesomeness might just put her over the edge.
Stasy, if I can pull this off I'm sure we could work out some travel coordination (I would definitely fly though as I have a bajillion Southwest points).

I utilized a mini Rhymer ball (Rhymer + 3 bombers) as an initial "smack" for every opening move during Sullust.
Average ended up dealing 2 or 3 damage to shields every time. After that, I wrote them off for the game (some times opponent ignored them and I got 2 or 3 more damage out of them).
I must say though, that initial 2 or 3 damage (which people usually didn't heal right away) allowed me to easily 1 or 2 shot several ships on rounds 2 and 3 once my ACM's (w/ Screed) came into play.
Ended up nabbing me an ISD for 1st place anyway.
Just my 2c

Just wanted to post early and give everyone a heads up that Comic Store West in York, PA has applied and been approved for the 2016 Store Championship series.
We will iron out details and dates as we get closer to 2016, but wanted to get on the radar of everyone who was at our last 2 events and hopefully bring some fresh faces by getting the word out early!
I am still hoping to host at least 1 fall tournament (more casual) event at CS West, but again, more details to follow.
Thank you again for everyone in and around the South-Central, PA and upper MD areas that have helped make these events a success!
-
Just wanted to wrap this topic up by thanking everyone who made it out and made this event a success!
Comic store west will be looking into applying for the spring Store Championship series events (yay acrylic rulers) and I will let everyone know as we plan new events and casual games throughout the rest of the year.
Thank you again.

Thanks for the responses guys (as this makes sense). I have a good number of ships from both factions to loan either/or (as I will not be participating in this event).
-
I apologize if this has already been asked and answered, but how will the final match up for the Sullust event work (with regards to building a new fleet with ships from the OP kit) if the the top 2 players are both utilizing the same faction? My store will only be getting a single kit, so I'm just wondering how this is supposed to be handled if it comes up?
-
I just got confirmation from the store owner today that the Sullust kit has been ordered from FFG and is paid for. He said he would give me another update when it arrived! Spread the good word and let all rejoice that we will have lots of prizes and goodies for this event (since we still have our previous OP kit materials!)

-
Okay everyone, here is the latest update. The owner told me that he contacted FFG and their response was confirming that they would be sending him his invoice for the tournament kit on Monday (tomorrow). In my mind, this is as good a confirmation of the kit as we are going to get.
Now, on to logistics. Due to the length of this event, he has agreed to open early on Sunday October 4th. My plan is to begin registration at 10 AM (at Comic Store West in York, PA), and begin the first round of gaming at 10:30 AM sharp.
If we follow the three 2 hour rounds just like before, this will wrap up our standard Swiss at 4:30 PM. Then, the top 2 players will have 30 minutes to construct their new 400 point fleets with the new expansion ships and face off at 5 PM for their epic final battle!
Again as a reminder, there will be a $15 entrance fee to cover the cost of the OP kit. I will not plan on playing in this tournament (unless we only have 3 players without me, which I doubt), so I will have both a Rebel and Imperial fleet each built and available for anyone who needs to borrow ships in order to play.
Please tell anyone you know who came to our last event and/or seemed interested in trying this and we can make this another big success!
If you could, please either post here or send me a pm if you can confirm that you will be playing so that I have a good headcount to prepare (I will begin set up at 9:30 am before the store opens).
Thank you and I hope to see a true "Massing at (Comic Store) Sullust (West)!"

Not sure what your budget/preference range is but there is a Courtyard (by Marriott) not far from CS West in York. I travel frequently and almost always stay at Courtyards because of the balance of cleanliness, atmosphere, and not exorbitant cost (usually ~80 to 125 per night, but not sure about the one in York). Just my 2 cents.
-
Just wanted to start a new thread with the corrected date for the Massing at Sullust pre-reaslease tournament event for Comic Store West in York, PA.
This event will be on Sunday, October 4th. The store manager should be confirming the kit sometime this week and I will post an update when I hear from him about this. I will also verify and post all the timing details as they become available soon.
Please help recruit any support you can for this event and let's make it at least as much of a success as our previous CS West tourney!
Thank you.

Sorry, I meant Sunday October 4th

We are having one in York, PA on Sunday the 5th, but that would be about a 5 hour drive for you

Hey guys, just wanted to give you the update I promised.
First things first, Comic Store West needs to move the event from Saturday to SUNDAY. Repeat, tournament will be held on Sunday, October 4th.
2nd, there will be a $15 entry fee this time to help cover the cost of the OP kit/prizes (top people get full expansion sets worth up to $50 retail).
3rd, the owner said he should be able to confirm about getting the kit sometime later this coming week. As soon as I hear back from him about this I will let everyone know. Trust me, I am just as excited and anxious as anyone else!

Mcworrell, we typically run tournaments every 6 to 8 weeks but I would love to get a more regular presence going if possible. My schedule makes it tricky, but please send me a PM if you are ever looking for a "pick-up" game as I have friends in Lancaster
