For the beams to be visible you need either lots of particles that scatter the beam (like dust, smoke or water vapour) or a laser of a specific wavelength/strength that can scatter from the molecules within the air. Blue is more visible than red for example. I doubt a 3$ alibaba laser beam will be visible in normal conditions, and if it is it will probably be barely detectable. You will not get a beam like this without a fog machine or something similar:

Not sure why you'd even want them on Armada ships though as starwars 'lasers' mostly shoot in pulses rather than beams. Plus there is the safety risk of the lasers hitting your opponent's eyes whenever you move your ships.

I love Fractal's take on it. It has design elements also present in the Gozanti, making this an obvious choice for a new medium Imperial ship. Rebels would hopefully get the Assault frigate mkI  as its counterpart. Multi-faction ships will probably never happen with Armada even though I'd love to see Imperial Nebulon-B's etc.

FFG: Lord Asmodee, this is an unexpected pleasure. We're honored by your presence.
Asmodee: You may dispense with the pleasantries, FFG. I'm here to put you back on schedule.
FFG: I assure you, Lord Asmodee, my men are working as fast as they can.
Asmodee: Perhaps I can find new ways to motivate them.
FFG: I tell you, news on Armada will be operational as planned.
Asmodee: The customers do not share your optimistic appraisal of the situation.
FFG: But they ask the impossible. We need more men.
Asmodee: Then perhaps you can tell them when they arrive.
FFG: The customers are coming here?
Asmodee: That is correct, FFG, and they are most displeased with your apparent lack of progress.
FFG: We shall double our efforts.
Asmodee: I hope so, FFG, for your sake. The customers are not as forgiving as I am.

Lord Tareq got a reaction from Alathazal in T47 Harpoon Impact? and Wedges pivot mid pool generation to shoot ?
    1. Just armour. Impact 1 allows you to turn one hit into a crit vs armor.
    2. No, because that would be 3 actions. Wedge's special pivot allows him to pivot 360 degrees, but it still takes an action to pivot.

I admit the overall plot is better in the prequels. However, the prequels are massively let down by the cringeworthy textwriting and specifically the way they portray Anakin & the anakin/padme romance, and certain creative decisions (for example the need to not only include a 'funny' species in the same line as ewoks or porgs, but then make one of that species a main character). The starwars 'feel' is also much better in the last movies.
The prequel trilogy's ship designs are excellent however, and there is no reason to not include these in Armada at some point, just like there is no reason not to (eventually) include first order/resistance stuff.

Mounting mini's on large 40cm tall watchtowers would be dubious yes. Any kind of 'normal' scenic base, which could include rock peaks etc. that would elevate the model a couple of centimeters should be absolutely fine.

I think that if the game uses true line of sight, and Legion does, mounting the minis on a platform on the bases is cheating.

We'll see. Biggest issue I have so far is that the main character doesn't remind me of Han Solo. Which is a problem when the movie is called "Han Solo". But maybe in the full movie it's not so bad as I fear.
I hope the movie adds something to the star wars universe at least, like an actual fleshed out Corellian sector.

Problem is people tend to build fleets for the official point limit, meaning you only get to play larger point matches if you plan them ahead. Nice if you play with regular mates, less if you play at larger clubs where who you play against is determined by who is there that evening. It would be nice if the standard matches people expect to play are 500 or even 600 points.

I for one would welcome a larger size. 3 ISD's with full squadron complements should be a thing

Honestly, armada is extremely simple and easy to play (marketed as the nicer sounding "streamlined" ) as well as relatively cheap, compared to pretty much all other miniature games I played which includes Historical Wargames, Battlefleet Gothic and 6th edition Warhammer Fantasy. Not to sound condescending but if 400 point Armada matches are considered "incredibly complex and involved mental affairs" I recommend some mental exercising .
