    You will make it legal!
All seems legit except for the fact that you can only resolve 1 crit effect per attack. So either APT or a normal crit, you don't get the APT crit and a normal crit. APT's use is that you can crit through shields with it.

Nah it very accurately represents the crew of the huge ship being frozen in terror at the prospect of the tiny ship jumping into them at light speed and destroying their entire fleet.  😐

You want Battlefleet Gothic torpedoes, essentially. I think it would be a nice mechanic in Armada. The problem would be the ships. The Broadside & Marauder were used in a computer game this way, but it has no basis in any star war movies or even books afaik. The Marauder especially does not have the size and looks of a super heavy bombardment ship, and the Broadside I personally just don't like the design of.
The Dreadnought from the last SW movie would be a good candidate for sure, would be a nice way to represent those cannons without making them overpowered.

edit: Perhaps better would just be an ordnance upgrade card i.e. "Diamond Boron Missiles" that has these torpedo mechanics.

I dream of an re-balanced Armada with a more streamlined squadron phase, and perhaps enhanced ramming & boarding rules. So yeah, definitely looking forward to Armada 2.0 as long as it doesn't result in them dumbing down the game.

It all makes sense now. It wasn't the Russians, it was the British secret service that manipulated the elections to make Trump president.

Lord Tareq got a reaction from Flengin in Of what we know of the SSD (which isn't a lot), is it an enticing different gameplay experience?
I'm fairly certain it won't be the most fun list you can play with/against in normal matches, but I think it will be great to play with/against in larger matches. Generally speaking in pretty much all wargames I have ever played, the more eggs you put in one basket (typically a very high cost 'uber' unit that forces games to be based around its presence on the table) the less fun those matches typically are. When you put >50% of your points in 1 unit, your opponent basically has only 2 options: focus on it with everything he has to hope bring it down which will if he succeeds pretty much guarantee him the game, but its a big gamble. Or the second smarter option, evade it so it doesn't earn back its points which can result in very drawn out annoying matches where you may end up with a draw or just a very slight victory.
As the size of the matches increase, this all eggs in one basket problem will get reduced.

edit: I do like that we get the SSD, although I will not get one anytime soon due to the cost.

Lord Tareq got a reaction from Thraug in Should FFG increase the official points limit?
In my humble opinion they should increase the standard point limit with another 100 points to 500. However they should reduce the max squadrons percentage to 25% or 125 points. I think this would be a beneficial change in almost all regards. Same amount of squadrons in games but 1-3 extra ships.
Downside is some admirals may need to be rebalanced, though I'm not sure that's needed for only a 100 point increase.

For the beams to be visible you need either lots of particles that scatter the beam (like dust, smoke or water vapour) or a laser of a specific wavelength/strength that can scatter from the molecules within the air. Blue is more visible than red for example. I doubt a 3$ alibaba laser beam will be visible in normal conditions, and if it is it will probably be barely detectable. You will not get a beam like this without a fog machine or something similar:

Not sure why you'd even want them on Armada ships though as starwars 'lasers' mostly shoot in pulses rather than beams. Plus there is the safety risk of the lasers hitting your opponent's eyes whenever you move your ships.
