  1. I imagine Smaug having a lot of trust and rage issues during the dawning ages of his rule, which they eventually work out, not without the help of Bilbo. I also imagine some intrigues and treacheries during the times when Smaug is widely accepted and somewhat even loved by the people of his realm. The treacheries of those who still consider him as an evil tyrant who bleeds the land instead of nurturing it, those who try to kill him and take the power. Like in the Steward's Fear
  2. Have you ever "regretted" the anything that happened in the universe of LotR? Have you ever fantascized about anything that would go different? Imagined an alternate course of events? I did my share of this. And my greatest fantasy is Smaug becoming the overlord of Lake-Town. He is an intelligent, powerful and wise being, and when Bilbo meets him, through long, exhausting conversation he manages to persuade him to... share his gold with the people of Lake-Town, in an exchange of lordship, rule, being worshipped. What could tickle great dragon's pride stronger than tons of gold? Massive following. It's a long, tough road with a lot of giant bumps, but Lake-Town grows ever stronger under Smaug's rule, becoming one of the most powerful factions of Middle-earth. Bilbo settles there as the High Advisor of Smaug. The terrotories spreads, it grows from a trading town into a fully functional "nation", its now known as a Dragonlands, people of this nation use dragon symbolic on their banners, armor, the dragon influence can be seen in their culture. You catch my drift?
  3. While Watcher is indeed not that good as he will survive 1-2 attacks at best, Trollshaw Scout can be pretty decent.
  4. It was said that there will be actions (and prolly responses) that trigger from the discard pile. Like Yithians from the Call of Cthulhu LCG.
  5. I would call them most useless 10 cards you'll ever have at once... unless there is some discard pile meta incoming.
  6. Don't want to appear to be sore or something, but I'm kinda sad that Erestor has no "profession" trait, like Noble, Warrior, Scout, etc. Who was he in the books? Why they leave him without a prof trait?
  7. (1.42) Additional attacks by an enemy When an enemy makes an additional attack, discard all of its previously dealt shadow cards before dealing it a new shadow card.
  8. Yes. The shadow cards are always dealt with out-of-order attacks, unless the effect specifies that you do not deal a shadow card for this attack.
  9. I don't understand. What has release of 4th saga to do with the closure of the game?
  10. I think we need a megathread for stuff like this.
  11. Frodo will be an enemy in the last quest with ring attached. Gollum Response: After Gollums attacks and deals any amount of damage to an enemy with Ring card attached, attach that Ring to Gollum. Action: Exhaust Gollum and discard attached Ring to win the game!
  12. Because there is a Gollum objective in this Saga that will render Gollum hero useless for the very box he comes out in. I know that was done before with Faramir hero, but a little AP and entire Saga box is not a same thing.

  14. Hey guys, check this out: https://boardgamegeek.com/thread/1361298/teaser-lotr-lcg-global-conversion-call-cthulhu
  15. Asfaloth can explore a location before resolving a quest by putting progress on locations in the staging area (alo avoiding any nasty travel or active location effects, if any). Celebrian Stone is 2 immediate willpower. Rohan Strider just puts progress on the quest if players happen to quest successfully, it can't help them if they fail, because it does not adds any instant benefits like willpower or progress on the staging area before questing resolves. It also exhausts to trigger it's own effect, so if you use it for quest, you can't use it later to trample.
  16. Side Quest: Each player adds 1 resource to each hero he controls.
  17. Well, even without the insert, I would rule it that way: as soon as Grima enemy enters play, discard Grima hero from play.
  18. And how are you handling situations when there is several enemies engaged with you or when enemies are immune to stuff like feint?
  19. Can anybody enlighten me on Gandalf/Hama combo? I understand the principle of Hama recycling the Feint decks, but I don't quite catch what Gandalf hero particularly adds to it.
  20. What would you like to be there? An objective "Riders of Rohan" ally coming into play with 10 willpower, 10 attack, 10 defense and 10 health that does not exhaust to quest, attack and defend?
