  1. After introductions, a few drinks and a few tunes, the droid abruptly turns and starts to clean up the used drink containers, napkins and snack bowls. Using precise movements he cleans the bar area and moves to quickly wash and put away the glasses and items used by the team. He then travels through the main part of the room before turning towards the entrance to find the Quartermaster. Along the way, almost as by habit, he straightens chairs, nabs some trash that fell to the floor and ends up steadying a tipsy local imbiber of too much strong drink. Before exiting he pauses for a few brief comlink messages and then exits. Comlink to Ensign Nomen: "Statement: Ensign Nomen, your music had a highly refined level of imprecision that I am told makes the heart stir. Thank you. I am at your service." Comlink to Doctor Geoff Hanson: "Statement: Dr. Hanson. Thank you for your welcome. I am at your service." Comlink to Lieutenant Liaka: "Objective: Supply recon. Establish machine shop. Six hours" (OOC: Added response to Dr. Hanson, whom I missed acknowledging)
  2. Ping picks through the results of the group's defense of the town. He takes any pirates that are still alive and binds them, then puts them aside. Next he moves those that died together and covers them with one of their cloaks, to be dealt with at another time. Now quickly searching through their belongings he collects the weapons and gear that the team may need to conquer the remaining pirates. In his usual hurried manner he dumps the gear with Teleth and the others and goes back to bring in any of the pirates that are still alive and then finally the speeder bikes for evaluation. "Well, that was messy by effective. I doubt they will be underestimating us again next time. Anyone know how to fix a speeder bike?" He holds up the bisected front end of one of the bikes he cut in half with his lightsaber.
  3. Cnl: I tried to message this to you directly, but it says you can't receive messages. This is a link to the star wars files I keep on my dropbox. In the file called "weapons-gear-droid-armor crafting.pdf" I put the tables which show the different items that can be crafted, the templates, difficulties, and die results options. Let me know if anything isn't clear. This is the folder holding that file: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/qp8zesdqa1o721w/AACOKZ77rLNDDOqNPUPni8o2a?dl=0 I will let you know what item he is collecting materials for, then through IC/OCC I can post about it, confirm the difficulties (if needed, some times it may be just 'borrowing' something) then will do rolls and IC put up results and discuss time needed to craft.
  4. No need to wait, we can always post about the interaction with the quartermaster as a 'flash-back' (do you have a name/description or do you want me to fill it in?)
  5. ColonelCommissar: I am looking to have N97 get the teams gear up to spec. and make sure they have what they need for the tasks at hand. This will likely include doing some item crafting. Do you have the Special Modifications book with the crafting rules? I wanted to give you some heads up so you can take your time deciding on availability of certain items used for crafting. First thing would be for N97 to go through and inventory all the current resources available. He would check with the Quartermaster to find out the current inventory, then would also go and confirm the items/list himself. That would likely be his task tonight. If he has any time left over he will work on the next task. Next task would be to look to get tools and an area he would use for working (slightly away from organics, as he will do a lot of his work at night). He has basic tools but needs to find/build a Welding Rod (this is the specialist tool creation on SM table 3-12). He will need to gather equivalent of 400cr of materials (rarity 4). This will take him about 12 hours to build, likely overnight, after he has the materials needed. Later he will work to get an assistant droid (Likely the SoroSuub G2 Repair Droid: B1 A2 I2 C1 W1 P1 Soak1 Wound 6 Skills: Pilot-Space:2 Astrogation:2 Computers:3 Mechanics:3 Know-Core:1 Know-Outer:1 6000cr R5 from Strongholds of Resistance p114). However he may craft some Remote Droids (from Special modifications) in the mean time to assist/work while he is on mission. Finally he will be taking a poll from the other team members looking at their weapon/gear status, checking for needs for upgrades/mods, need for new equipment, etc. and making a list of materials needed for those items. N97 will then prioritize creation/modification of items. The characters who want the items will need to supply the materials or attachments (N97 will obviously not charge for these services as he is part of the team). If anyone needs the list of items that can be created and their costs, just let me know and I will PM you the list. Again, these are goals that he will work on for the next week or so of in-game time, so no rush. First thing will be finding the resources available. I will post IC for all these things so that you can respond IC, just giving you a heads up
  6. I check my email fairly regularly, so I just turned on the notification to email me when a post is made, it helps a lot as it also shows what was posted so I know if I need to jump in. Sometimes it still takes me a day or so to check in, usually due to weekends, or if I am concocting a longer post.
  7. N97 turns his head to look at Oro. Across his chest the display panel displays additional text. "Light Conversation: 'Antiquated' is practically my middle name. That is, if droids had middle names. However I have learned a few useful skills over the years that have become valuable to my owers. And because my owners continue to join the cause of the underdog. The downtrodden. The victim. The sufferer. The rebel. The meek. The just. The disadvantaged. The . . . " here he pauses, realizing he has fallen into a conversational loop. After an odd moment he then continues, " . . well, I also have ingrained myself to this cause." There is a small break in the text then it continues, "Designation: I am known as 'The Butler' to most, but my field name is 'The Can'. However when you are off duty you may call me what you wish. You will be given my comlink address." Everyone's comlink gives a short notification that they received N97's built in long-range comlink unique code address. Then Oro's com-link lights up, receiving a message, heard only to him. On the other end is a voice; a metallic baritone voice filled with precise pronunciation and with a tone of respect such as a servant would give to a noble-man. "It is good to know you Solider Oro. Consider 'The Butler' at your service." Then N97's display blinks out and his head turns back to the others in the conversation.
  8. Every time a glass is raised in honor of the slain rebels, N97 slowly raises his hand, formed in a fist, straight up the air in a motion of solidarity. At the same time a message scrolls across his chest. "Statement: For the Fallen: Abbreviated list:" and then follows a scrolling list of names, moving too fast to even read that goes one for over 20 seconds. When it is complete the droid mechanically drops his hand down to his side again, as if nothing had taken place.
  9. When the group of rebels led by Dr. Cohlen arrive, you find among them a short squat archaic looking humanoid-shaped droid. His paint is a dark rust-brown, showing years of wear. His head is flat with green optics for eyes, and other than the riot shields attached to his frame he appears equiped more for labor than for combat. He is loaded down with gear, and promptly goes to arranging the meager supplies the group has brought. After unloading he does an odd pause, as if a stuttering in his programing, or as if listening to something. At the same time you see the Twi'lek commander speaking into her comlink. Then the droid turns and enters the building to her and the other team members. His mannerisms are little different than typical worker droids. He has the straightforward approach to work, moving efficiently and systematically. But he doesn't interact with the organics as if a worker droid, and even though not having any rank, he is is shown regard by the rebels as if he was an officer, or at least well respected for his abilities. Entering the hall he takes up a customary position at the end of the bar, standing quietly. When he is introduced he a section of high resolution screen, almost like a scrolling message board lights up across the upper part of his chest below his chin. "Statement: Greetings." Then you see a drinking glass icon show up, filled with a light brown liquid that slowly drains. Apparently this droid communicates by emoji as well. (OOC: He will interact more as time goes on. Here is a picture, which may help)
  10. It falls into the type of gear that is necessary to do slicing (without a huge penalty, such as multiple upgrades to difficulty). See EotE core book page 171 on the side bar. Using a computer just needs access, slicing (getting past security) needs slicing gear.
  11. Ping is a couple of blocks closer to the speeder group, but waits while hanging to hang onto the side of a building overhang. The multi-armed Besalisk watches as the first bikers go screeching past him. At the right moment he leaps across the road, using two of his arms to pull a biker off his speeder and slams him to the ground. Without glancing down he gives the dazed pirate a solid boot-to-the-head to knock him out. As the surprised bikers look to engage the agile warrior, he rolls across the road as they fly down the street toward Teleth. As quick as his roll was, so was the flash of light igniting and then disappearing as a thin blade of his lightsaber briefly cuts through metal and wire. Ending up in a crouch near the wall of the side building, behind him two speeders cut in half careen to the ground, slamming their drivers to the forward into abrupt unconsciousness. (Force leap, Brawl attack, Coordination roll, Quick Draw, lightsaber attack, Holster lightsaber)
  12. Hello everyone, I will be playing a droid character, a mechanic. I put his character sheet here. As typical for the rebellion they get equipment wherever they can, and he is a relic. Created 800+ years ago (approx, he has been through a lot, many memory wipes, damage, repair, updates, etc), he has been in and out of service to the Republic until his owner, a Jedi Artisan owned him through the clone wars. Now out of storage-mode he has been assigned to the cell on Arkos II. He is a bit quirky and atypical for a droid due to his age, but maintains traditional 'droids are owned' mentality. His code name in the field is "The Butler", but many call him "The Can" due to his resting shape. His designation is N97.
  13. The spastic Ping was already up and out of his seat before the clamor of the arriving pirates completely settled and before the yelling begins. Following the others he assess the 40 bikers. "That is a lot of bikes." He says to Kane, shaking his head, then with a laugh he adds, "How are we going to ride them all?" Then ducking to the side with surprising speed he heads down a back alley to find a way to come into closer range to the pirates without being seen directly. With two hands he has his shield at the ready, the other two are being used to support his balance as he leaps quickly from wall to road to window-sill. It had been a while since he had the freedom to move this quickly. It was good to know that the town residents are tucked safely away and out of sight. When he is close enough he pauses to determine the best approach to the impending threat.
  14. Roll20.net has its own search feature, just put in star wars (although it will include all rules sets in results, FFG, D20, etc), and then use advanced options to select for Wednesdays only. As for which book series, most GMs will allow from all books if they own them, but you will need to find out the 'feel' of the campaign the they want to run. If very EotE feel, then maybe use FaD specialization as a second spec, or use Exile/Emergent. If you are patient within a few weeks (the longest I have had to wait is a month) you can usually find a group. However Roll20 is always at least voice based (that is the whole point of it), while the others are forum based. Totally different kind of games. Good luck in finding a game!
  15. I think it is time for me to move my attention elsewhere. It is hard to have any interest when the GM posts once per 2-3 weeks and has not done much to advance the story. This seems to happen regularly to PbF games. GM seems like a nice guy, just not enough time/energy to host a game. Will be scanning for a new game if anyone else has a recommendation. May even host one if can't find a suitable one.
  16. Ping finishes off his refreshing beverage and looks down at himself. Seeing the level of dirt clinging to him, he glances around for the referesher. After several minutes of cleaning, washing and lip-whisker trimming, he comes out looking a lot more presentable. He comes over to Teleth. "Well, you have had many of us agree to help with your pirate problem. As along as the town is on board, we are with you. What do you suggest?"
  17. It does appear that our illustrious GM is playing a low-key game. I am not certain how many will be able to sustain interest with the game moving so slowly. GM, feel free to post much more, fill out the surroundings a little more, and move the game along! We all are eagerly awaiting more info and a little push to move the story along!
  18. Okay, so sounds like we have a few options with the pirates: we can have a town meeting to get the town behind us / help them make a larger plan, we could strike at them directly (sounds suicidal), or do some hit-and-run/guerilla tactics to fight the pirates. Any other ideas we should present to Teleth? He doesn't seem to want to open up much with what he knows. Anyone want to do some streetwise and get information on the town, the size, general mapping, level of defensibility, current town-folk's attitudes about what is happening, any that are willing to fight to stop the pirates? Ping is street clueless (low cunning) about getting that type of information.
  19. "So with 50 of them, on bikes, with blasters, and we have . . " Ping looks around at his desert-worn comrades, "us." "Sounds like we need a way to whittle down their numbers. Do you know of a place they frequent? How many typically come on raids? Have any other residents been affected or do they just have it out for you?"
  20. Ping's attention is returned to Teleth when he sends out his invitation. "You have a heart filled with revenge good sir. This may be your undoing." Sipping his Blue Milk he adds, "However I am never one to see a good man go down alone. Count me in." Ping then pats his sides as if looking for something, "Of course I would be a lot more useful with a blaster. Is there someone in town that needs the Pirates taken care of as much as you? Perhaps someone that can trade the use of their rifle for my pirate eradication services? I will certainly return the weapon when finished. Should I live. Of course if I don't live, then perhaps you would be kind enough to return it?" Ping gives Teleth a pat on his back and a large smile.
  21. Ping was glad to see that Teleth was not interested in shooting him, at least not yet. Of course the day is young. In the saloon Ping took a good look around. He wasn't sure why he did that, likely his life experience or some such, but he really didn't ponder it much. Besides he usually just waiting for events to land in his lap before noticing a problem. 'Makes it easy to know who's trying to kill ya' "One large blue milk my good man" He asks the bartender Ping stood up straight, trying to look older so that drinking a drink more for nutrition seemed acceptable. "Thank you" He simultaneously pays for his drink with one hand, grabs it with another, sticks a hand in the snack bowl and scratches his head. He then asks the bartender, "So besides shooting at pirates, what does this town do for fun?" Then in his typical distractible way he also starts a conversation with Teleth, "So tell us more about these raiders you keep fighting off."
  22. Doesn't the difficulty start at simple (no difficulty) when it is your 'own' lightsaber? I am thinking of the information in the GM kit from FaD page 23. Let me know if this isn't correct. Not that it would change your rolls, it might be important for the 3rd+ mods though.
  23. I have been putting the speaking parts in bold, but it looks like the bolded text isn't very visible (in the IC thread). Does anyone else see the bold very well? I may have to switch to a different color for speaking parts.
  24. Seeing that this human is a grumpy sort didn't put Ping off his light-hearted manner. Starting with one he puts his arms up, one at a time, in an over-dramatic and non-serious way until all four were up. Smiling he says, "Hang in there, I am not armed," although wearing his shield on his back, no blaster is seen on his belt, and no other armament is seen, "or should I say, I a all-armed." He laughs a little but sees that his levity falls flat. "My name is Ping. I have fallen from the skies when our ship crashed on your lovely," Ping tries not to sound sarcastic, "planet. You may call me 'Ping of the Sky'." Still not breaking the hardened face of the gunman he adds, "just 'Ping' is fine."
