Ahsoka + BSP x 4 (Wreck face at range 1-2)
Heavyguard replied to eljms's topic in X-Wing Squad Lists
How is Ahsoka able to coordinate up to 3 ships? Battle Meditation allows for 2 ships only. -
I faced 5 back in the finals for a 1.0 Store Championship when I was flying Brobots. It was a tough fight but eventually wore them all down.

Strikers are fun to fly and can hit hard however Deathfire isn't really pulling his weight here other then being an annoyance really. I've run the following similar builds and had fun with them. Went 2-2 in a tourney with this build. Made some mistakes with the Strikers as this was just after they came out and I hadnt played much with them at all yet. "Countdown" (20) -Stealth Device (3), Adaptive Ailerons (0) "Duchess" (23) - Expertise (4), Lightweight Frame (2), Adaptive Ailerons (0) "Pure Sabacc" (22) - Veteran Instincts (1), Lightweight Frame (2), Adaptive Ailerons (0) Scimitar Squadron Pilot (16) - Fleet Officer (3), Systems Officer (2), Twin Ion Engine Mk. II (1), TIE Shuttle (0) Total: 99 Bomber hands out 2 Focus and a TL while hiding in the back. (Typically Focus to Countdown and Sabacc with the TL to Duchess) Sabacc evades or BR out of arc. Duchess and Countdown can BR or evade. Bomber can also change out Twin ion engines for LWF too. This gives the Bomber some bite; "Duchess" (23) - Crack Shot (1), Lightweight Frame (2), Adaptive Ailerons (0) "Pure Sabacc" (22) - Veteran Instincts (1), Lightweight Frame (2), Adaptive Ailerons (0) Scimitar Squadron Pilot (16) - Extra Munitions (2), Homing Missiles (5), Cluster Mines (4), Long-Range Scanners (00 Omega Squadron Pilot (17) - Crack Shot (1), Targeting Synchronizer (3), Twin Ion Engine Mk. II (1) Total: 100 Duchess and Sabacc can chase other ships while Bomber and F/O can homing missile something else. F/O ensures the bomber has a TL even if its in too close for LRS. And similar to the first one but with OL instead of Countdown; "Omega Leader" (21) - Juke (2), Comm Relay (3) "Duchess" (23) - Crack Shot (1), Lightweight Frame (2), Adaptive Ailerons (0) "Pure Sabacc" (22) - Veteran Instincts (1), Lightweight Frame (2), Adaptive Ailerons (0) Scimitar Squadron Pilot (16) - Fleet Officer (3), Systems Officer (2), Twin Ion Engine Mk. II (1), TIE Shuttle (0) Total: 99

For Jess here how are you finding her with Snap Shot given that you can't use her ability with it? Is it just there for the attack before they have the chance to token up?

Can we counter both Tripple Uboat AND Palpaces in one and the same list?
Heavyguard replied to RedHotDice's topic in X-Wing
I faced this exact list in a store championship finals. It was a tough fight and very well flown list but my Brobots won out in the end. -
This is the first real expansion I've actually done pre-release testing with and I've now twice had a Delta Squad with the x7 title end up being the last one left alive along with an opposing Soontir Fel. Both times the Delta and Fel went at it for 4-5 rounds more before one of them finally died from 1 damage getting through. (Was split 1-1)

Of note on the subject is the April edition of the Official Star Wars magazine lists Imperial Veterans as available now. Issue is on stands till April 25th. (Yes I know its not official FFG however)

I recently won a 18 person SC with the following Brobots build; IG-88B (36) Predator (3) Advanced Sensors (3) "Mangler" Cannon (4) Autothrusters (2) IG-2000 (0) IG-88C (36) Predator (3) Advanced Sensors (3) Heavy Laser Cannon (7) Autothrusters (2) IG-2000 (0) Total: 99 - With only 2 ships you need to put out damage every round, hence B. - Advanced Sensors allows so many options when moving. - I find the Boost + free evade from the C helps with your defense. - HLC on C punishes those who go after the B first. - Advanced Sensors ->Boost (+free evade) -> S-loop you can end up behind that TLT with an evade and AT kicking in regardless of range. - Being in range 1 doesn't hurt you either, your throwing 4 dice @ range 1 and if you miss completely you can still get the gunner effect and first off the HLC at a different target outside of range 1. - Advanced Sensors -> boost (+free evade) -> 4 K-turn (which people often forget it has if you S-loop early on) = the equivalent of a 7 K-Turn! - Dont be afraid to Advanced Sensors and bump into your own ship. Or use it to bump theirs! All that said the biggest part of flying brobots is learning how to use them effectively. Maneuvering between asteroids and debris with them is something you need practice at.

I recently won a local SC with the following IG-88B/C build. We had another identical build in the top 4 as well as a Crackshot/Glitterstim IG-88B/C list in 8th place after the Swiss. IG-88B (36) Predator (3) Advanced Sensors (3) "Mangler" Cannon (4) Autothrusters (2) IG-2000 (0) IG-88C (36) Predator (3) Accuracy Corrector (3) Heavy Laser Cannon (7) Autothrusters (2) IG-2000 (0) Total: 99 Facing the Crackshot/Glitterstim build in the swiss with initiative bid allow me to control the engagement by either using Advanced Sensors and blocking him or denying him shots while ensuring I had shots with both of my IG-88s. In the finals I faced a mirror build and having lost the initiative I played defensively and was able to react to his maneuvers. The Aggressor is great ship however you have to get use to using it to be very effective with it. Some tips; a S-loop right off the start in the first round will sometimes throw off your opponents game, don't forget they have a 4 K-turn as well and with an Advanced sensors boost and 4 K-turn your doing the equivalent of a 7 K-turn AND ending up with an evade token to boot! (I've found that often with the 1st tip they forget it has a 4 K-turn on the dial as well)

Similar build I was playing with just switches the recon spec for Bossk & Unhinged for free TL/Focus and 9 green maneuvers to clear any stress. Comes in at 99pt so you could switch only VI on Dengar for Lone Wolf if you wanted too, I'm just not a fan of LW on big base ships is all. Dengar (33) Veteran Instincts (1) Bossk (2) Unhinged Astromech (1) Glitterstim (2) Punishing One (12) Boba Fett (Scum) (39) Veteran Instincts (1) Tactician (2) Glitterstim (2) Engine Upgrade (4) Slave I (0) Total: 99

Want to tweak my 6th place Store Championship list
Heavyguard replied to Darkfyre13's topic in X-Wing Squad Lists
IG-88B (36) Cool Hand (1) Fire-Control System (2) "Mangler" Cannon (4) Autothrusters (2) Black Sun Vigo (27) Autothrusters (2) Syndicate Thug (18) Twin Laser Turret (6) Unhinged Astromech (1) Total: 99 This would allow all 3 ships to fire before other PS2 (assuming initative bid win) and with Cool Hand allows your Aggressor to still have modifiers after performing a K-turn or Sloop. -
Vader, Vessery Tractor Beam and the Inquisitor
Heavyguard replied to Jedu's topic in X-Wing Squad Lists
Well, based on the preview, we know a couple things about adaptability that we can infer: Its called a 'dual' card, so that probably means you must equip two of them (on two different pilots in your squad). This is backed up by how it is used in the preview. Its 0 points, so its not just gonna give you something for nothing. I expect you can have +1 PS to one pilot so long as the -1 PS side is up on another pilot. Likely during the match you will be able to flip them, but there must always be one with +1 PS and one with -1 PS. Of course I could be wrong. It might be a case where you can just put it on any single pilot but perhaps you must flip it back in forth every turn or something, but I doubt that since it seems needlessly complicated... The Dual could also refer to the fact that the card is dual sided. So you might only require one equipment but if 1 round you boost your skill up or down the next round it might have to be switch to the other side for that round. -
I've run both of these builds (2 duplicated) along with either a HWK, TLT, Title & Jan Ors or a K-wing with TLT & Jan Ors. Opponents found then very frustrating to fly against and defend against. Red Squadron Veteran (26) Juke (2) Comm Relay (3) Autothrusters (2) Red Squadron Veteran (26) Juke (2) R5 Astromech (1) Comm Relay (3) Integrated Astromech (0)

I agree with the above that Boba is better to run however I prefer to load on some discouragement on him in the form of a bomb and Tactician(who does work in the rear firing arc too!). Boba Fett (Scum) (39) Veteran Instincts (1) Tactician (2) Glitterstim (2) Engine Upgrade (4) Slave I (0) Ion Bomb (2) or Seismic Charge (2) Syndicate Thug (18) Twin Laser Turret (6) Unhinged Astromech (1) Syndicate Thug (18) Twin Laser Turret (6) Unhinged Astromech (1) Total: 100 That said since you have Kath painted up you can just switch her in above (and still be at PS9) and either upgrade to Proximity Mines or Stay at 99pts for an initiative bid. Generally a cannon on the Firespray is unwanted as your already rolling 3 dice and it only works in the forward firing arc. Kath Scarlet (Scum) (38) Veteran Instincts (1) Tactician (2) Glitterstim (2) Engine Upgrade (4) Ion Bomb (2) or Seismic Charge (2) or Proximity Mines (3) Syndicate Thug (18) Twin Laser Turret (6) Unhinged Astromech (1) Syndicate Thug (18) Twin Laser Turret (6) Unhinged Astromech (1) Total: 99 or 100

Palpmobile & 2 Aces in an upcoming tourney?
Heavyguard replied to ArbitraryNerd's topic in X-Wing Squad Lists
With Lone Wolf and Kallus on Kenkirk you already have 2 modifiers for both attack and defense so Gunner seems a bit wasted here. Especially if your running VI (or Pred) Vader here as he could be stripping tokens first. Sometimes modifiers aren't enough. Sometimes you need to chew through token stacks, and one ship shooting before you ain't enough to get the job done. Yes, we're talking about Soontir. Also doesn't hurt against autothruster ships, like BroBots. Also just doesn't hurt when your first roll is 3 blanks, which happens from time to time. Only other real contender for the slot is Rebel Captive. I agree however if Soontir has already shot you with Rebel captive (in place of Gunner) your likely now facing a double stressed Soontir. If your facing another VI'd Vader then he is likely stressed now as well which makes him predicable. With un-VI'd Brobots it would come down to who had initiative which could have either a stressed Brobot against you (again fairly predicable) or the ability to force the use of tokens in its defense. -
Only issue here is with both Defenders having Flechette cannons, if your focusing on 1 ship its only going to get stressed by the first one. Switching 1 out for an Ion Cannon would also allow you to ion and stress the same ship preventing any actions the following turn.

My Fett scum list/what Fett list has worked for you?
Heavyguard replied to Chief Hugh's topic in X-Wing Squad Lists
As mentioned K4 and Predator are useless on Fett. (K4 also makes your movement predicable given your 4 green maneuvers) I like the following for a base Scum Fett; Boba Fett (Scum) (39) Veteran Instincts (1) Ion Bombs or Seismic Charges(2) Tactician (2) Glitterstim (2) Engine Upgrade (4) Slave I (0) Total: 50 If there is points to spare the bomb can be upgraded to a Proton as well and/or add Extra Munitions thanks to the Slave-I title card. Tactician works out both arcs and can double/triple etc stress a target unlike the Flechette Cannon. VI allows you to fire first on PS9 Aces and I've found allows for better use of the bombs. If you bump Glitterstim still allows some modifiers in both attack and defense rolls. The other thing with Tactician and the bombs is that I find it often forces people on the defensive right away as they now don't want to be in Range 1 or 2 of Boba, this can force your opponents move in hopes of better positioning for a later round often giving you free shots with out getting any return fire. Note: I've found the Proton or 2 Ion bombs to be a better deterrent then the Seismic Charges as people often is it as only 1 or 2 damage where as the Proton Bomb is a face up through shields or the Ion bomb making their movement predicable for 2 turns potentially. -
