  1. I'd like to try this list against either of the two primary lists offered here. I concocted it to challenge Rebel Hug. Keytsu- Lone Wolf Glitterstim x2 Dengar Countermeasures Fenn- VI Title AT Z-95- Cruise Missile Glitterstim GC Basically you fly Keytsu straight at the formation to joust it. Bump, no bump doesn't matter much. Pop GS and CM use Keytsus ability to barrel roll Biggs or Selflessness out of range 1. Missiles and Keytsu attack rolled ship now at 1 or 0 AG. Keytsu tanks all damage with LW, CM and GS. Fly past, k turn, repeat. Fenn cleans up.

  3. Best is RAC with Kylo Ren. Two Damaged Cockpits later and Echo has the highest PS. It's gold.
  4. I always loved playing vs JM5Ks with Brobots. Go ahead fire your Torp at my 3 die AT with Evade and Focus. On a perfect roll for my opponent and an average roll for me I take ZERO damage. Maybe 1 damage on a bad roll. After those initial torps it's cake to kill off a 2D attack with 3AG + AT (even if it takes a while). For me it has always been Aces and stress that are tough. I'm working on a PTL/AS with Cluster Mines and Crane. That makes lower HP aces less scary. Still one of my all time favorites to fly.
  5. During this process his process they've had several chances to have a better outcome and they have blown everyone. And in point of fact they could still strip the cheater of his wins. Not give him prizes, ban him from tournament play for a time, etc... it's not done.
  6. You're dead wrong. This came to light and FFG has had several chances to make it right and they have failed at every single turn. They failed to award the cheated the win. They failed to boot the cheater from the tourney after the fact. Even after all that and the intense outrage coming from the community they had the night (Saturday) to think about it and stuck with their idiotic ruling allowing the cheater to continue on in the World Championships. Their were many points at which this wasn't water under the bridge and FFG failed them repeatedly. Btw the 65th place person who should be playing today is Audrey Carstens and she deserves that spot.
  7. Okay I'll buy this. In he same spirit shouldn't the cheater come forward, admit his wrong, apologize and voluntarily give up his spot. Almost all the community venom would disappear if he did. If I ever played him I'd call him cheater every time I addressed him. Not to be vindictive, not to punish him but to remind him that we all make mistakes but failing to admit and take ownership is the worst thing we can do. He should cop to it and do the right thing for himself and everyone else.
  8. First off you're dead wrong. May the 4th was a fan based celebration (on a grassroots level). Corporate marketeers only had the good sense to embrace it. So take your overly cynical and grossly ignorant "settling" back to he drawing board. At least do your research if you're going to play little black rain cloud. If you knew a thing about corporate marketing you'd know you it's unwise to miss opportunities to get eyes on which you don't have to pay for. Your own statements of all the other SW merchandisers and their outlets and products primed for today only support my point. Frankly, FFG should have had something prepared for every SW licensed game they have (and they should every year). How many stores/chains pass on Black Friday? Sad, and just not smart. Bad for the fans and players too.
  9. On the one day that the entire world is paying attention to Star Wars FFG can't even post an article? Maybe they don't understand how big a deal it is?
  10. I never read the books but I kind of like the look of the ships (Mel's miniatures). I do also like the concept of a completely biological species absent from the force. As for how that was executed in the books I have no idea. Dont know if we'll ever see them but I like change and new things so I'd be open to it.
  11. Wow! This thread has more trolls than D&D.
  12. QD with Swarm Leader. 2 3D attacks (front and back range 1) plus 2d for each with SL. That's 10 dice in a single attack.
  13. I said two years ago that anyone who blindly accepted previous statements as immutable eternal law were fools. If they feel there's money in it it'll happen. That's always been the case. The longer X-Wing stays popular the more and more likely it is to happen (huge pool of existing designs). I also said they were waiting for the new episodes to wash the bad taste out of the mouths of those who grew up with the prequels as "their" SW. It's going to happen because 1. There's money in it. 2. People have let go of much of the hate. 3. It's a huge source of tons of good source material.
  14. The dice mechanics are far better in Armada and IA. The element of chance is still there but bad luck isn't game destroying. Far too often in X-Wing one very bad roll determines the outcome of a game. Dice which determine the degree of success are far more fun to play with than dice which can utterly fail even when everything is done right. No single thing impedes X-Wing more.
  15. These threads are always the same. Imp players: we must nerf Biggs asap or the galaxy will collapse in on itself. Scum players: meh, whatever. Rebel players: huh (nervous chuckle), Biggs is fine... huh huh (more nervous chuckles There are many potential T-65 fixes which wouldn't buff Biggs more than any other T-65. For example, every fix which is attack based in nature
  16. You can make a good stand alone piece out of a U-Wing or put it in a list. Heff- FCS Finn Hera TJ for a bit over 30 pts you've essentially got a 4/2 8 hull ship that's an excellent blocker and is very likely to have TL and focus most turns. Have a list I use this with Stramm stress bot and Vrill. It's done very well for me.
  17. Think you owe The Last Starfighter some money for that one.
  18. I'm not suggesting that Imps have tons of top tier lists. But their top players don't want to take time to try and test them out with Worlds approaching in May. Not enough time (or at least that perception) is why. They don't feel they have the time to evaluate them. It's interesting though because Rebel and Scum (non triple Jumps) have been doing this forever. Both Dengaroo and Parattanni are examples of digging deep and finding gold in that list building process. I think many top Imp players may not have that skill yet? Now they'll learn. I'm suggesting that they are finally experiencing what Rebel and Scum players have experienced for wave after wave until Jumpmasters. It's really the first time Imps have been in 3rd place. And they arent taking it well.
  19. Maybe read then, I didn't less Imp players I said less top players playing Imps. So if you have some data which shows which factions top players played that contradicts what I've said then I'm all ears.
  20. As a player who plays all factions my take is this (I'm about to paint with some broad generalized brush strokes): Competitive Imp players tend to be a risk averse group. I think this is a product of having move last arc dodging aces like Fel, Vader and Whisper as well as being able to rely on Pre-nerf Palp to erase any mistakes. So when the great nerfing happened competitive players want to win so they go with what they know is top tier (and safe) even if it means leaving their beloved Imperials for a time. For me the low totals of top 8s lately is due more to less Imp lists being played by top tier players not the same amount as before simply underperforming. My 2 cents on the whining is that players who play primarily Imps do tend to whine a bit more. Maybe this is because they're so used to being top dogs with top aces?
  21. For me it's the Aggressor. It's interesting, costed pretty well, has its own personality, has always been pretty competitive but not overpowered and most importantly it's fun.
  22. Except for in this case many many many people paid good money for that rock in your shoe.
  23. While 26 pts is a guess and it could be 27 pts it just means you drop EM from one. Or switch to ABT, etc...
  24. PS3 Scurrg (26)- Deadeye (1) Concussion or Cluster (4) EM (2) GC 33pts add Boba Fett to one or bid OR PS3 Scurrg (26)- Mindlink (1) Concussion or Cluster (4) EM (2) LRS 33pts
  25. My list is: Bren- UR, CS, LWF Oicunn- Intimidation, Operation Spec Academy TIE x2
