  1. ibsh, I noticed that the red deployment zone for your rendering of Nelvaanian War Zone is off a little. The deployment zone goes one square past the difficult terrain and the door moves with it, between those two tiles. Just wanted to give you a heads up.
  2. Here is a link to what I'm talking about: http://scottswargaming.blogspot.com/p/how-i-paint-figures.html
  3. I ran a GW store for a couple years, and here is the best way I found to paint eyes on 28mm models. Paint the eyes white before you paint the skin around them. Then, paint or draw with a fine tip art marker a black line down the middle or wherever you want the eyes to be looking. Then, paint the skin. If the eyes are too prominent, you can do a light, targeted ink wash around the eye to add shadow. The effect of this is to give the appearance of a full pupil and iris. If you look at people's eyes, you'll notice that unless they are scared, you don't see the top nor bottom of their iris, so it becomes like a thick line with rounded edges. Sorry for the thread necro, but I loved the paint jobs on these when I found them on the Google Images search apart from the eyes.
  4. Fundemonium just held its Store Championship this Sunday, and had 6 people. I was the TO and deliberately brought a sub-optimal list... 1st: Drew Bishop Luke Leia Gideon On a Diplomatic Mission C-3PO Elite Rebel Saboteurs Elite Rebel Troopers 2nd: Curtis Plunk Luke Gideon C-3PO Elite Rebel Saboteurs Targeting Computer Elite Rebel Troopers Elite Echo Base Troopers 3rd: Jason Phillips Elite Stormtrooper Stormtrooper Elite E-Web Engineer The General's Ranks Elite Imperial Officer Imperial Officer Royal Guard 4th: James McGee Boba Fett 3x HK Assassin Droids Temporary Alliance C-3PO 5th: Brian Webb (new player, I recruited him to play the week before...) Boba Fett HK Assassin Droid Elite Nexu x2 Hired Gun Beast Tamer Punishing Strike 6th: Chris Langland Dengar Explosive Armaments HK Assassin Droid Trandoshan Hunter x2 Hired Gun Temporary Alliance Gideon Alliance Smuggler
  5. what is your command deck like? New Orders Grenadier Reinforcements x2 Emergency Aid Inspiring Speech Single Purpose (for Snowtroopers - considering replacing it with Negation) Urgency Celebration Recovery Fleet Footed Element of Surprise Deadeye Rally Take Initiative
  6. I see no reason to exclude it. It is a fantastic card. Compared to similar recovery cards like Emergency Aid it is just so much better. It may vary if you want to go more aggressive with your cards and boost your attacks, but otherwise, I'd find a way to include it. Particularly with Leia...
  7. I won the Isle of Gamers Store Championship (7 players) in Santa Clara, CA on 2/20 with the following list: Royal Guard Elite Stormtroopers Snowtroopers Imperial Officer Imperial Officer Temporary Alliance Elite HK Assassin Droids Played against two Rebel lists, one Luke and Elite Echos, the other with Luke and Leia, otherwise pretty identical (2x eSabs, Gideon, C-3PO, Mak) and against a Trooper list with Elite E-Web, Royal Guard, 3x Officers, 2x Elite Stormtroopers, (I think - a little fuzzy now).
  8. 2 points left. Either 3p0 or Beast Tamer and Devious Scheme Who's brilliant idea was it to have a Store Champs on a Monday? Beast Tamer and Devious Scheme. It was actually on 2/20.
  9. Yet Another X-Wing Squad Builder has outlines that you can print on your list. Great resource. https://geordanr.github.io/xwing/
  10. I wanted to make sure people on here know there is a store championship being held at Fundemonium in Rohnert Park, CA north of the San Francisco Bay Area (it's near Santa Rosa). This is a part of the greater SF Bay Area X-Wing Circuit, which will have the invitational 16 tournament in April. The event is on March 13th with registration starting at 10:30 am and ending whenever we get done. Rounds will be based upon FFG tournament rules, as will cut. Please call in advance so if the store needs to rent tables and chairs they can do that: there is easily enough room for 64 players with advanced notice (707) 540-0701. Entry fee is $10. Hope to see folks there!

  13. Anyone here who is looking for some NorCal Imperial Assault Organized Play, Fundemonium in Rohnert Park is hosting a Winter Kit tournament this Sunday, 1/17. Games start at 11 am.
  14. One thing I'm thinking about is using Snowtroopers supported by Royal Guards to block and absorb damage from people like Luke and Leia, and using Elite HKs to hang back and shoot.
  15. HKs are awesome, but I am having some issues with keeping them alive. Any suggestions? Our first Store Championship was won by a Luke/Leia list with 2x Elite Sabs, Gideon, C-3PO, and R2-D2. I played him in the final match and he one-shotted Gideon with Leia from 9 spaces away. Her range is amazing.
  16. Totally understand, though I do think there are people you can connect with to play the campaign with on there. I'd love to, but I'm up in the North Bay near Santa Rosa.
  17. Will they post to this topic when we have an answer, or will they send it directly to you guys, and you'll repost?
  18. So I'm curious about how Squad Swarm and Strength in Numbers interacts with Attachments. The text on the Squad Swarm card is "The combined cost of both groups cannot exceed 15." The text of the Strength in Numbers card is "The combined deployment cost of these groups cannot exceed 12." Is the cost of an Attachment to one or both deployment cards included in either of these? For example, if I give Vader's Finest (2 points) to a unit of Elite Stormtroopers (9 points) does that make the cost of that group 11? If so, I couldn't use Squad Swarm to activate a group of regular Stormtroopers (6 points). If not, and I'm only considering the cost listed on the deployment cards, then I could use Squad Swarm to activate both Elite and Regular Stormtroopers. Similarly, if I attached Vader's Finest to a regular Stormtrooper groups (total of 8 points), could I use Strength in Numbers to activate a second group of Regular Stormtroopers? Thanks!
  19. Hey, guys! I'm not on these forums terribly often, but there are two Facebook Groups (one open, one closed) that are active and available for Imperial Assault. We just had the first Skirmish Store Championship last night at GameScape San Francisco, and there are four more in the greater Bay Area coming up that I'm helping to coordinate. Imperial Assault Northern California is the open group, and SF Bay Area Imperial Assault is the closed group.
  20. Just got an email from FFG Customer Service: updated cards will be the participation prizes in upcoming Tournament Kits. I'm fine with this. I can print out cards until the kits arrive.
  21. Those are the original cards, not replacements.
  22. I got too aggressive with him in Round 3, and that ended up costing me admission to the Top 16! #22 here.
  23. In the Great Changes link above, there are images of the cards. I am sure they won't print as nicely as the originals, but they could work. Another option would be stickers that we could put over the offending areas of the cards that needed to be updated. This could be sent out to retailers. I know Battlefront did that when they had to errata some Flames of War books.
