Let's just express our enjoyment or displeasure here without spoilers.
    Just feelings no descriptions.
I for one after seeing that movie thought episode 7 pales to this movie. I had about 2 gripes, that's it. I have about 10k things I LOVED about this movie.
    What say you?

    We have:
    A smuggler/troublemaker named Jyn (with a pistol!)
A heavy weapons guy in half armor with a heavy repeating blaster and a grudge against the Empire
a Force Sensitive armed with a durasteel staff
    a mechanic/gadget guy
an older, bearded African-American in a command/support role
A big, beefy brawler (but he's a droid instead of an Aqualish)
And they are all fighting to stop some new Imperial weapons project run by a new high ranking Imperial officer
This movie is Imperial Assault to the core

Well at least we know why the Rebels didn't have much of a fleet in Ep4.

In RotJ the Emperor stated he had a legion of his best troops on the sentry moon. So where where the Death Troopers?

At least it was better than Ep7.

To continue the necro, here's an awesome website which does exactly what everybody wants (automatically sets the correct tokens, can be adjusted manually, multiple draws). It also got the advantage of being a ordinary website (not an app), and is therefore universally cross-platform!

    Okay, then.

    Scenario 1:
You've already seen the setup by now, I imagine. You use the same bag from the Learn To Play booklet, and everyone starts locked in the Study.

    Resolution:
Four possible endings. If you defeat the Ghoul Priest, you can either burn down your house to add Lita Chantler to your deck, or rebuff Lita (forfeiting your only chance to get her as an earned asset) to keep your house. If you manage to lose by agenda before unlocking the Parlour, everybody dies, and you have to choose new investigators for the next scenario (you still get Lita, since it's implied that your new team is a group she recruited between scenarios, and you keep your house--or rather you get to use your new group's house). Lastly, losing by default means you get to keep Lita and your house, but the Ghoul Priest survives to haunt you in future scenarios.

Regardless, everyone gets 2 xp (unless they died, of course).

    Scenario 2:
You set up the nine Arkham locations and start at your house. Note that there are two copies each of Downtown and Southside; You choose one of each randomly, so you won't know what you'll find there until you actually visit. Also, for each investigator past the first, one location gets a starting Acolyte (Southside, Downtown, and the Graveyard, in that order).
Spoilery bits: If you burned down your house, its location is removed from the game (naturally) and you instead start at Rivertown. If you lost the first scenario, the Ghoul Priest gets shuffled into the deck.

    Resolution:
Pretty simple. You just note which of the six cultists you found and dealt with, and whether or not the Agenda deck reached completion.

    Scenario 3:
You randomly put four of the six Arkham Woods locations into play. You also randomly select one of four different "Agent" sets to shuffle into the encounter deck, representing the influence of more remote elements of the wider Mythos.
Spoilery bits: You start with one extra Doom for every two cultists that escaped the second scenario (rounded up). If you let the Agenda reach completion last time, you discard two random cards from your starting hand. And if you still haven't killed the Ghoul Priest, he goes back into the deck.

    Resolution:
If everyone runs away or is defeated, the alien forces conspiring against you are victorious, everyone dies horribly, and Arkham becomes even less hospitable to sane human life. If you stop the ritual, everyone gets 5 xp and two mental trauma. If you banish the AO after it's been summoned, everyone gets a whopping 10 xp and two points of mental and physical trauma. You can also sacrifice Lita to the AO; you get the same rewards (and penalties) for banishing it, plus an extra Madness Basic Weakness for each investigator.

I have no interest in random pack games anymore. i wasted too much money on Star Wars Miniatures boosters packs.  I was very happy with the FFG decided to do their miniatures game.

I'm confused.  You don't like specialized Stormtroopers.
You acknowledge the Empire needs an aquatic force.
You think that their aquatic Stormtroopers need to look more specialized...

Eh, I never really liked the way that worked in LotR, so color me fine with this.

I assume they'll bear the differences in mind in design scenarios and enemies so that chump blocking isn't necessary like it is in LotR.

Thr Grim Rule: "If players are unable to find the answer to a rules or timing conflict in this Rules Reference, resolve the conflict in the manner that the players perceive as the worst possible at that moment with regards to winning the scenario, and continue with the game."
Well at least this time they came right out and said it...

I really prefer playing just a single investigator/deck. Managing two decks is not fun for me.

I have high hopes this will work well in AHLCG. The Investigators are more well rounded than in other games.

Each core investigator has access to cards from two classes plus neutrals so regardless of their main class we should be able to buff them up a bit to deal with most things.

The scenarios don't seem to be so much about winning or losing, but rather gaining what you can from each scenario as you progress through the campaign. So as long as I gain some experience and enjoy the game play, being defeated doesn't mean ending the game (though it does mean taking trauma).

There seem to be several ways with dealing with various issues. Cards might make some characters better at investigating, but everyone can buff a test to investigate if they have the right icons on cards in their hands. Or maybe they have cards that let them gain the clues in other ways? Or evading monsters instead of fighting them? Having multiple ways through a situation should let each investigator deal with things in their own way with some chance of success.

There are multiple difficulty levels, and since it's possible playing a single investigator solo is more difficult, I'll just play the game on Easy until I see if it's TOO easy and then adjust.

The game is designed to scale based on the number of investigators. So the Act cards appear to require a number of clues times the number of investigators. Fewer investigators means less tokens to have to gain in order to advance. Who knows what other mechanics will also be scaled this way? Hopefully enough to make 1 player solo a great experience.

The game is listed as 1-4 players. My hope is that this is an honest evaluation and that 1 player, as designed (not one player playing 2 investigators), will be very playable and very fun!

I guess we'll find out soon. For those of us who prefer playing just 1 investigator and 1 deck for a true solo experience, I think this is a great chance to find the game we've been waiting for.
