    Vigor is amazing!

Throw that skill on Elder Mok and you've got a pretty beefy character that just all round improves the team.

It would be so amazing if FFG considered something like this for a mini expansion/scenario pack.
Just a smallish deck of cards; contains maybe a new unit for each faction (hero type units?), a scenario deck, maybe some common unit for the centre pool.

Be similar to the scenario packs being made for Runebound at the moment, except even easier to put together. All cards are the same dimensions, no minis etc.
Very similar to the Warhammer Quest expansion packs they're making actually.
Would be a nice refresher for the fans I think, and wouldn't require quite as many resources as their more current games.

What would ye think of a mini expansion like this? Deck of maybe 40-60 cards with all of the above.
    I'd be all over it!

I'll post some pics and measurements when I get home, but I would say closer to 20mm yes.
    Edit:
Used minis I had matching pairs of in both games.

    Hi guys!

To be honest - i'm not really like the new combat system. It's good, but i dont wanna fight with my friends (for us Runebound is kind of coop RPG). And also downtime is bigger at new edition.

So i made an Android app and want to share it at Google Play soon.
There is an automatic AI for combat system. Just push the button and you will get 3 numbers (like in 2 edition). If there is enough skill - you shoul use the most powerful.

    Any suggestations?

You have to remember that the boxed expansions are their own self-contained product.
They include their own complete campaign based on the traditional way to play Descent with an Overlord.

Road to Legend is also an expansion of sorts, that has its own self contained campaign and unlike previous expansions; allows you to optionally incorporate content from other expansions.
This in of itself is great!

But just because you choose to play solely with the app doesn't mean you should expect the boxed expansions to provide an extensive amount of content for it.
They are their own product that luckily can be incorporated somewhat into the app.

Not to say I wouldn't be happy to see RtL complete campaigns based on each expansion; but I do think its a high and unreasonable expectation.

Hero/Monster packs are a good alternative to adding content to RtL as they are cheaper and don't contain much campaign related content of their own.

Me and my friends have been playing a downright ridiculous amount of runebound since it came out, so much so that the enemy combat tokens have visible wear and tear on them. Fortunately, it seems that the tokens are the exact size of swedish 5-crown coins, which means that finding coin caps for them is pretty easy. The ones I bought were the No. 303522 29mm Lighthouse/Leuchtturm coin caps and the tokens fit perfectly in them and look great. Figured I would share it in case someone else was having the wear & tear problem, wanted their tokens to be shinier or just prefer the feel of plastic rather than cardboard.

Can't argue against it being average and bland too much, but it's not the worst. I'd say it's just a little paper thin, which it kind of has to be to have all the characters playable and all the villains reusable.

But to be honest I'm a little sick of the same theme and characters and creatures and world being slapped onto all these new games. A bit of variety would be nice sometimes which is why I liked WQ:ACG. A game with great mechanics but in a different setting.

Nothing really against the Terrinoth setting, I just think I've seen too much of it and it just doesn't really excite me that much anymore.

It's nice to see older games getting some love alright.
It does shine a bit of hope that Rune Age will get some more love.

I agree that the game is pretty well rounded now, but the more variety the better I say!
The current six races are good, but some more mercenaries and scenarios would be a great addition. Especially a new scenario with some unique mechanics just to freshen it up a bit.
Would say a small box expansion would be nice. Maybe not POD as they seems to have issues with matching card quality, but even a small expansion would mean a whole lot!

    Greetings Descent players,

I recently launched a model building and miniature painting channel on YouTube and got a great suggestion to visit the FFG Forums and share the channel with everyone here.

The startup channel is mainly focused on model making and miniature painting, and currently the main focus is a large project for Descent Second Edition. With over 230 of the miniatures for the game ready to be painted, this undertaking will cover the entire library of miniatures by showcasing groups of painted miniatures, spotlight videos on the occasional miniature of interest, and how-to videos along the way.

Here's my latest offering... the painting of the Bone Horrors:

I welcome everyone who's a fan of the game, as well as fans of miniature painting, to visit the channel and take a look. Feel free to leave comments with your questions and suggestions. I'm no master painter but I enjoy what I do and have already seen improvements in my skills, which I hope to see continue over the life of this project. Over time I feel the archived videos will range across various techniques and appeal to beginners and veterans alike. It may also inspire people to paint their own miniatures, or finish the task they may have already started.

In addition to the Descent project, a series of videos will be made covering the complete Star Wars: Imperial Assault miniature collection, as well as other game miniatures and Star Wars models and diorama projects.

I look forward to your input and and thank you for checking out Egghead Hobbies.

I think the order is as follows:
"Start of location phase" effects occur. If the location is fully explored then the heroes may decide to travel. If travelling occurs, non-nemesis enemies in the shadows are discarded then new enemies are spawned according to the new location card. "End of location phase" effects occur. So in a turn when the heroes travel, only "start of location phase" effects of the old location occur and only "end of location phase" effects of the new location occur.

I can't remember where this is stated (if anywhere) but I believe it is correct.

Yesterday, I had planned for a quiet 4th of July.

Quite frankly, most of my days are quiet these days.

My friends were not about to let that happen.  G-d bless them.

They showed up at my house most unexpectedly at 10 am.  I wasn't even dressed.  They brought food, drink, and were prepared for a day of fun, whether I was ready for it or not.

For the first time in more than two years, I got to play D2e.  For more than 12 hours we played with the app and battled the demons of Terrinoth.

Tomorrow, I turn 75.  This morning, I am thoroughly exhausted, mentally drained, and feeling ill.

It was the best **** birthday gift I have ever received in my life.  I love my friends.

    Hey Guys,

Like many of you I'd love to see another expansion for this game.
So say FFG did consider working on one; what playable races/factions would you like to see; or think would be plausible?
Some monster group races seem to be intelligent enough to warrant them being playable in the universe.

    Goblins could be an option.
In Descent they're a bit of a dumb race, but they have a leader; Spligg, and a bit of a story to them too. Would be an interesting playable race to include that are already built into the Runebound Universe.

Dragons; bit of a long-shot but could be interesting (especially given some are already included in the common pool).
Dragons often come with character names and leaders in all the different games in the Runebound universe and have minions as well. In Runebound Margath has a whole bunch of dragons and dragonlings added to the story/event decks. Belthir in Descent is a dragon halfling. Potential here to have a playable faction of sorts I think.

What other races/factions do you think would work as playable?

Although I have received the following (and standard?) reply on a similar question via email already:

I would like to start this topic again, now more openly.

IMO, the POD product series can be easily utilized for RA and there are many players out there who would appreciate such addition. I know that its cards are somehow of a lesser quality, and thus cannot (or should not) be combined with the rest of original cards. But it is not necessary, actually:
    - the Event cards are all stand alone, so no mixing here
    - the scenario Neutral cards can be either reused from the current ones (a lot of options here) or they can run in a similar way like the Promise of Riches (from the O&A expansion) is designed
    - and also, there are still other interesting options on what can be added here (like buildings, heroes, lairs/dungeons etc.)

And, there is already some fan-made stuff that can be incorporated somehow (be it found under this forum, on BGG or somewhere else). In example, I would love to see the polished Civil War in Terrinoth scenario as the original one (by Brian, see here or here). It provides a full solo experience, yet with the PvP abilities. Some work is still needed there, of course.

The other interesting way(s) for any POD expansion could be the addition of buildings or heroes to neutral area, which can be then bought for the gold instead of influence (or both) and which could provide various effects for the player (be it in combat or outside it). Also, I would love to see some kind of "raid" scenario, in which the player(s) would be attacking some neutral dungeon or citadel controlled by one of Enemy, which is hiding behind its minion first... (some interesting ideas could be find here or here).

But - this topic should not be about what should be added primarily (I respect the above "policy" here) - it is about pointing out this option more publicly and to see whether it is possible to open further discussion/support for it.

They do say on their Print on Demand page (http://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/more/print-on-demand/) that the card quality would be different from those included in the base games (particularly the linen finish that is on all the Rune Age cards).

For that reason a POD expansion that includes new units etc. may not work as you could tell them apart in the deck.
New scenarios should definitely be possible though, as they aren't shuffled together with any other cards.

Is there anyway to show FFG the community's interest in such expansions, given POD are generally small, cheap and quick to develop expansions for games that they can't/don't want to fully support with boxed expansions? I'd say RuneAge is the perfect candidate for these types of expansions!
A scenario pack would be awesome I say!

I own Runebound 3rd Ed and Rune Age (+ expansion).

Rune Age is one of my favourites in the Runebound Universe and really really wish it got more love from FFG.
I have my fingers crossed they'll consider a small POD expansion for it in the near future!
In short its a deckbuilder with some of the popular factions in the universe. It comes with a whole host of scenarios, some coop, some PvP, some race for victory etc.
For this reason I love it for the amount of variety you get in the box.

Runebound as it's been said is an adventure game (different from the dungeon delving of Descent).
Less depth to it than Descent, but a play session essentially encompasses the happenings of an entire campaign in Descent. At least that's the way I like to look at it.
Its still new, and FFG missed a few opportunities in the base set, but it's already getting expansion love and some of them look pretty good.
The base set really screamed for expansion, and its clear that that was its sole purpose. At least FFG are delivering.

I like to look at the different games as different scopes to the universe.
RuneAge/Battlelore are the in depth nitty gritty, focus on individual battles.
Descent is moving around the world, but focused on individual quests in detail.
Runebound then has an even larger overlooking scope where you're travelling the world completing an entire story arc in a single sitting.
