  1. @bkcammack - If they have 1 missing model then it obvious that its been lost, and I know how easy that is :p.... however running a single fighter model on a tree to get more squads I feel is out of place in a tournament ... although to be fair hadnt though of doing that in friendly club games! 😛 <goes off to see how the rest of the club would react :p>
  2. I'd argue that yes you should have 12 Delta 7s... they are not irregular sqns so shouldnt have a single model on the stand.... In fact the RRG states that they DO need to be the same model type & be 3 to a normal squardon.. no IFs BUTs or MAYBEs about it. pg 19 SQUADRON I've bolded the relavent sections.. thats fighters plural so more than 1... and they must all corralate to the same type which V-19s & Delta-7s dont. Then you have pg 36 saying that none-irregular squadrons cant be represented by a single model & page 10 also says that a normal squadron consists of 3 models
  3. Yep very clear (not!)... I mean look at the Aces base plates of other sqns.... ( I mean look at the TIE Bombers ace plates and see how similar they are espically on a table upside down.... and then put the X-Wing, Y wing aces next to each other ones - as said from across a gaming table when those plates are upside down to you with models on and the dial obscuring the trait icons) So yeah, one or 2 Delta-7s with escorts I'd kinda be ok with, not very happy but I can track 1 or 2. As soon as you start having 3+ and having V-19s on the table then no, I'd struggle keeping track of what is what.... The models are to say which sqn it is and what standard stats it has (speed, hull) then the plate says if its generic or not and which none generic card to use for the weapon stats & extra rules. Not everyone plays Armada week in, week out... or just know every unit at a glance
  4. Will they be re done at some point - yes.... will FFG.. NO! Star Wars Armada is being moved from FFG to Atomic Mass Games by asmodee.....
  5. Hmm...not good..I don’t have the small version and it’s not an errated /changed card... so I’d be playing the large version - and confused by you playing the small version
  6. Or option 77... cost it so its more than an ISD, with same or less hull and total shields... if its can one shot a small at long range and run 7 sqns but that is 80% of your fleet then it could be balanced like that
  7. hmm.... that makes it sound like the higher engineering ships take more hurt than a lower one.... how about you may put a command token on the boarding card instead of on the ship* when ever the ship would gain one (ie Tarken, banking a dial etc) and when you discard the boarding card it can use the number of tokens as actions against the target ship. *ie they wont count so a command 1 ship could have 1 token on the ship and 2 or 3 on the boarding troopers
  8. being used to using tokens in games to signify status and readyness for stuff means outside of tournaments I'm fine with that... however I'd much rather a card I can read at arms length than one I have to lift up closer to read (even with my bifocals!) so yeah the bigger card doesnt bother me.... however as a group the chelmsford bunker have already agreed we're going to carry on using the mini cards for keeping track of upgrades on ships on the table... So might end up with (for example) 2 copies of OE next to the ships with the big OE card off to one side that we can pick up are refer to for rules
  9. To be fair to them on the upgrade card pack, its hard to predict how many players who have dropped away from the game will buy this as a way of jumping back in. The club I go to in Essex has about half a dozen armada players... I think one of us has brought a ship since before the SSD was released, we've not played a game of armada at the club for over 18 months... 2 of us pre-ordered the card pack, with 1 picking it up last week from a shop in Norfolk....Out of the same bunch 1 player has ordered the clones and thats it... (doesnt mean that asmodee arent useless at predicting anywhere near enough stock in any of the their Star wars games though..... :p)
  10. thing is why would they do that? it actually limits them from doing a new GSD further down the line like they did with the ISD....and also cuts into available design space for other ships. Look at other games that have 3 or 4 ships that do the same thing with similar upgrade capacity! There is no reason for them to change anything on the ship cards except to add traits or multi-faction a ship..
