  1. Pace of play is a tough one. Perhaps you aren't allowed to pick a dial up once it is "set". Or maybe a combination of time and minimum turns. After 75 min. see how many turns have been played if it's under 9 give the option of playing more turns but force stricter limits on dial setting and ship moving, both players may be satisfied with only 6 turns.

  2. You'd need a new dial unless it gave you the ability to turn your dialed K-turn into a troll or sloop in either direction

And that'd be sexy but we still need a significant point discount for it to matter

Another thing we could do is make the fix a mod, which means no Eu corran but leaves the astro slot open for FCS + R7 Astro

When you reveal a 3 turn you may perform a red troll, reveal 3 bank perform a red sloop.

  3. OK, here goes again.

    Rogue one

    -1 cost

You may equip any number of mods totalling 3 points

    Rogue squadron

    0 point's

Reduce the cost of Astros and torps by 1

    Stealth X

    0 points

You may equip a stealth device for free in addition to your normal mod

    Unnamed title

    0 points

When attacking with your primary you may add a free focus result, may not cause more than 4 hits.

The last one is designed to limit to much damage at range one and helps offset r3.

  4. Perhaps they plan to add afix for another astro carrier (x,e?) that adds a free focus result to attack dice. Generics like focus tokens so it's like a free hit, aces will have choice between four possible damage or three dice TL and an evade.

  5. Title 1 (0 points)

Reduce the cost of astro and torp by 1

    Title 2 (0 points)

Equip any number of mods totalling 2 points (3?).

    Astro 1 (1-2 points)

Remove all target lock requirements from torps

    Astro 2 (1-2 points)

Reveal a 3 turn may do a red troll, reveal a 3 bank may do red sloop

Garven Dreis doesn't have an astromech?

Which one is good for him?

The one that grants him an EPT then throw on VI so you can make use of his ability.

  7. Trying to make a list designed to keep Biggs alive as long as possible. Not worried about offense.

    Kyle Katarn

    Jan Ors

    Airen Cracken

two focus one evade, Garvin's tocken will come later, not sure about the droid though, any thoughts?

  8. Nothing until Rebel Veterans (hopefully).

    FFG plan for e wings.

    Stage 1.

    Delete Corran Horne.

    Stage 2.

    Go crazy!

I can't see how any buff to Ewings wont make Mr Top Table staple Horne even more stupid good.

And any criticism of Ewings in general already applies to tie interceptors. We can ignore Fell (e wing campaigners ignore Horne, so that's fair). Then we are left with Jax. Loads of ships, but only one that's good. Admittedly that's one more than the Ewing, but still.

At least no Ewing is the games byword for totally crap.

    Looking at you Fels Wrath.

By ignoring the title for now and looking at mod and systems slot. Horn wouldn't be as good in Z, it's do also in part by his upgrades.

  9. \ I have the Imperial Aces pack and picked up 2 more tie interceptors to complete a squadron? (If 4 of them will equal a squadron by my understanding. If I am wrong please correct me.

You will only want the Imperial Aces and 1 Tie Interceptor pack, more than likely. Generics aside from Royal Guards (of which there are only two in the Aces pack and none in the Interceptor) are no good, and if you fly a Interceptor Aces squad you'll only be able to fit 3 in a 100 point list.

Only if I am going to be playing in tournaments which I am not. And I will save my reasons for that maybe in another thread. If my friend and I have to sit down and write out house rules for our own campaign then we will do that.

Right now I am trying to find out more about somebody. And somebody supplied a great link but just how accurate is the wookiepieda I have used it during the end of the Clone wars.

Aftermath novel basically does away with thrawn and TFA does away with Yuuzen Vong. Other than that Disney has yet to contradict the rest.

  10. Well I guess we get to see that x-wing asplode. I sure don't remember that paint scheme at Yavin.9

Given that the movie is about the theft of the Deathstar plans, I wouldn't be surprised if everyone dies except the one person who makes it to Leia with those plans. And then _that_ person dies on the Tantiv.

I dunno... she said "many Bothans died to bring us this information" She could have lied as  a way to play up the rebels feelings, reminding them this is important and getting them riled up before combat. ;)

    Wasn't that ROTJ?

  11. Rogue One

    Title unique

    X wing only

    3 pts

    PS 6 or better

When you perform a focus action any friendly x wing at range 1-2 may perform a free target lock action. Add EPT if you don't have one.

Blatant Garvin buff but works on all aces.

    Rogue Squadron

    X wing only

    0 pts

Reduce the cost of Astros and torps by 1 pt min 0.

  12. What about R5-X3 to give him even more unpredictability?

I know, I don't really like it either.

I like the idea of trolling and boosting through an asteroid field even if it's only once. Might change the tide of a battle in a timed game. It also makes AT nearly automatic.

Oh so now it's just an arguement about whether the X-wing will be "fixed" or "updated".

I'm just saying the E-Wing and HWK-290 need help, while the X-Wing and Y-Wing merely want more options beyond the glut they already have. The next two aces treatments should be the E-Wing and HWK-290.

X-Wing can get its fluff when Rogue One comes out because, as of IA's release, it's fixed.

exactly, not to mention anything E-wing will include new astros which the x may also take.

I really don't understand these remake claims. Was ROTJ a remake of ANH?

Let's just say there's a lot of elements from the OT comming over in TFA.

    In no particular (new) order

    • A giant spherical base of mass-destruction- again! (but ROTJ did that too so i'll let it slide)
    • Escaping from said base only to return with a bunch of x-wings to blow it up.
    • A small band of infiltrators exposes the weakness of said base, wich is then finished of by...
    • ... a swarm of X-wings, some flying around inside the base to destroy it's weak spot.
    • A confrontation between father and son after wich one falls to his (apparent) doom.
    • The inside of the starbase bunker is very similar to that scne in cloud city for some reason.
    • worlds: Not Tatooine, Not Yavin, (Starkiller base has snow but not enough for me to call it Not Hoth)
    • Jedi mindtricks vs storm troopers
    • The fan fave mysterious character in cool armor gets taken out without much of a fight.
    • Small resistance cell vs evil galactic empire.
    • Scary masked dude in black with a red 'saber abusing officers who bring him bad news.
    • Who has conversations with his masters' holo projection.
    • A character looking for a ship off world in a bar.
    • Important information hidden away in a small astromech droid, pursued by storm troopers.
    • protagonist from an outback desrt world, dressed in white learns (s)he can use the force and ends up with Anakin's light saber.

Starting to see a pattern here? ;)

you forgot that the opening sequence is nearly identical.  other than the fact that ANH attacks a corvette and TFA attacks a random village in the desert, we have stormtoopers trooping, masked bad guy shows up, rebel operative places sensitive info into droid, said operative is captured.  Not complaining, just saying.

I know a lot of people won't like it but, apparently Disney is making SW a multi media affair, and that means books will fill in the gaps.  If you're not a reader this sucks, but it appears that is the way it's going to be so, yes, if you want to know more going forward don't expect movies to tell you everything, you're going to have to pick up a book.  BTW, even if you aren't an avid reader, most of the new novels are really short and written at a middle school level which, as a reader, bugs me but I see why they are doing it. You may not like it, and I'm not certain I'm sold on the idea just yet, but it's Disney's now and it appears this is the way it's going to be.

Thus far, the novels have been painful to read. "Middle-school level" is being kind. Ironically, the comics are not only better written, but better at filling in the gaps between the movies. The Vader series, in particular, is a must-read for any SW fan IMO. I love the story, artwork, and inclusion of many classic characters.

agreed, I was trying to be kind because I'm trying to like them.  I'm a fan of the legends, yes lots of inconsistencies but I was more interested in character development and where they all wound up, especially Luke, which it seems at this point there is going to be very little room for Luke develop (years of exile don't seem like THAT exciting of a story).
