  1. I’m quite concerned regarding L5R in Germany. At first I was wondering why there is no Kotei announced on FFG’s site for 2020. Then I was not able to find any Dragon Clan Pack in my local game store and not even in online ones except for the English version which I would not mind in the first place but up until now I was playing with my friend who has difficulties understanding English rulings and it also sucks to have to play with mixed language cards. Then I found out that the localized German version will not be continued and organized play support was also canceled by the German branch of asmodee. O.o I am so bummed I will possibly not buy further stuff as I am quite sure the way this game is managed in my country it will become more and more niche and lose more and more players and it will be harder to introduce new ones to the game. As I did only notice these circumstances by digging for it I wonder how other countries handle the game organized play vise and how do you grow and care for it? I did see Koteis announce for Spain and France but also read that a Kotei for Poland is missing too. Cheers!

  4. So it does not matter that Embrace the Void is „removed“ and Kazue is „move“? because I was under the impression both are different expressions also rule-wise.

  8. Actually mathematic probabilities are quite a large part of many strategic games like e.g. Poker or black jack. It is quite helpful to know how many cards an opponent has played from a deck and how many copies could remain. I fail to see how 1 card that shows up within 2 of 7 clans among 1 of 5 cards does not allow for a good chance to evade it. One does know that playing vs dragon or lion is a 20% chance to hit Feast or Famine. There are several ways one can adjust to the situation, like including Iuchi Wayfinder, scouting with a week character, attacking with a fateless character, attack when all the enemy characters also have fate, killing of all enemy characters without fate. This card does prohibit play options in some way but it does not outright win except when you are recklessly about it and happen to hit it under the right circumstances. It is my option that there are quite some options within the corset and imperial cycle. What I do not like is the current limit given by strongholds. Playstyles that are not well supported by your strongholds ability are disadvantageous.

  11. I did create this chart using the rules reference. I just found that I had a hard time reading the rule reference charts and also reading the corresponding text blocks so it took too long to find what I searched. ^ ^' Edit: added more detail.

  13. Reviving this Wampa-thread I have an additional situation to point out: When Wampa uses his ability is the target technically speaking not 'hit' is it? As the rules state that a target is hit when after the compare dice results step there are no uncancelled hit and crit results. As Wampa cancels all his results and via a special effect deals a damage card instead of damage the target should not be considered 'hit'. It should also not lose is Stealth Device and should not be able to use effects that trigger uppon being hit (looking at Quickdraw here). Discuss.
