I am thinking something similar with this: Poe Dameron (31) Veteran Instincts (1) R5-P9 (3) Autothrusters (2) Ello Asty (30) Veteran Instincts (1) R2 Astromech (1) Integrated Astromech (0) Red Squadron Veteran (26) Wired (1) R3-A2 (2) Autothrusters (2) Total: 100 View in Yet Another Squad Builder Or you can drrop VI R2, on Asty and AT on Red Vet in order upgrade the generic R2 on Asty to R2D2. I like AT on Red Vet to keep him around longer since he will likely be without actions and it synergizes well with wired, which allows rerolls of a focus on attack and defense. I also like Asty at PS 9 over 7.

This might be interesting: K wing generates 2 focus tokens that it can give out to other ships at range 1-2 during attacks or use for the TLT. Red Vet can throw stress and still be okay on offence and defense with wired while stressed, especially if the K wing is offering a focus when attacking. The E wing takes a focus action and borrows from the K wing on offence and saves it's own token for regeneration. Not great but it might be worth a try. It's going to really struggle against high PS aces. The E wing is the hard ship to play, if it's not Corran Horn. Red Squadron Veteran (26) Wired (1) R3-A2 (2) Autothrusters (2) Knave Squadron Pilot (27) Fire-Control System (2) R5-P9 (3) Esege Tuketu (28) Twin Laser Turret (6) Recon Specialist (3) Total: 100 View in Yet Another Squad Builder

This Will Be a Day Long Remebered
Wretch replied to Imperial Advisor Arem Heshvaun's topic in X-Wing
JarJar Wars Episode I: Mesa Fight Bombad Robots It's going to be the hot new spinoff series retelling everything from the perspective of everyone's favorite character. http://http://io9.gizmodo.com/include-these-anti-cheese-star-wars-prequels-while-you-1747781701 Some one edited out most of Jar Jar's dialog and most of the horrible stuff, still not great movies but they are so much better than the originals. and just for fun the "despeicalized" OT: http://www.denofgeek.com/movies/star-wars/35466/star-wars-fan-creates-despecialized-original-trilogy -
You could run 5 bombers with Rec Spec. Offence and Defensive focus, 19 points.

See above. You can't have more than one title on a ship, so you wouldn't be able to combine a hypothetical BTL-S3 title which adds a crew slot with the BTL-A4 title. Nothing to worry about here. it doesnt matter if it's 5 stress or 3 stress, all of that stress at once is still something to worry about, are you serious? If you hit a ship with 3 stress at once, god forbid it has a stress already, that ship isn't doing anything for the next 3-4 turns, ASSUMING it survives that long. It's an incredibly overpowered combo and i would sooner die than let that be a thing the game lets you do, ESPECIALLY on the single most successful Rebel ship at the moment. Y-Wing is doing amazing now. It might get more pilots at some point in the far future, but what's being suggested isn't a fix, because the Y-Wing isn't broken. Not sure if this is broken or not. Ion stresshog give 2 stress and an ion at range 2 that seems worse than 3 stress because you can't clear the stress until after you execute the white straight from the ion affect.
-
Subtract the astromech slot from your list and you've the K-Wing. I doubt there are many out there who claim the K-Wing is overpowered. But the astromech slot is what completes the insanity. R2-D2 on Miranda would be absurd. R5-P9 + Recon Specialist would also be absurd on anything with a crew slot and mech slot. And these are just things from off the top of my head. I'm sure there's gotta be an insane combo or 2 for R3-A2 + crew as well. While the Y-wing is lacking a bit in pilots, it certainly is not in usage. For that reason, I don't forsee it being revisited for a long while. Edit: Found it! TLT + Tactician + R3-A2 +BTL-A4 = 5 stress. Ya. Don't think we want that possibility. Not sure that would work, Tactician (2 from TLT), R3-A2 (1), and you can't have 2 titles so you give up the double tap. so 3 stress at range 2, 1 stress at range 3 and 1 stress at range 1. Not sure if this is broken or not. Ion stresshog give 2 stress and an ion at range 2 that seems worse than 3 stress because you can't clear the stress until after you execute the white straight from the ion affect. edit: ninja'd

I am looking at Red Sq. Vet with stressbot and the Wired EPT. It's not as one dimensional as the stress hog but also doesn't throw as much stress. Here are 4 builds I am toying with: Red Squadron Veteran (26) Wired (1) R3-A2 (2) Autothrusters (2) Ello Asty (30) Predator (3) R2 Astromech (1) Autothrusters (2) "Blue Ace" (27) R7-T1 (3) Autothrusters (2) "Red Ace" (29) R2-D6 (1) Comm Relay (3) Juke (2) Integrated Astromech (0) Total: 134 View in Yet Another Squad Builder Substitute AT for IA or vice versa. I am leaning toward the generic R2 over BB-8 on Asty because he needs to be stress free to use his ability and R2 gives him more options to clear stress if he gets stressed, but frankly I am struggling to find an optimal astromech pairing for him. I chose predator over VI for Asty so he could have a little more punch. My thought is he would use his ability and then boost to either try to arc dodge or get to range 1 and predator gives him at least 1 reroll. I am struggling with Red Ace. I don't like his ability as it's dependent on the opponent shooting at him or flying through obstacles until he damages himself. I have looked at pairing him with another ship with Jan Ors as crew but that seems to be a bit gimmicky.

I understand your point and agree but if she can manage it I think it's a good combo. Poe is a soft target if deprive of actions. Kyle gives a good option to help him out. I have also looked at using Garven Dreis to feed him tokens but I am struggling to find a good load out that works.
-
I like this set up for Poe. Kyle can throw focus tokens at Poe if he needs to boost or gets blocked. Slow play Kyle and let him charge his focus bank with Moldy crow. Be careful Kyle is very fragile. I usually play this with 2 Z-95s so I can put a hull upgrade on the HWK to keep it around a little longer. The A and Z can be nice blockers or can get a few damage in but their 2 dice attacks make them a little weak but Poe and the TLT on the HWK will be your offence. You don't have all of the upgrades I used but you can print the build from the list builder link. Poe Dameron (31) Veteran Instincts (1) R5-P9 (3) Autothrusters (2) Kyle Katarn (21) Determination (1) Twin Laser Turret (6) Recon Specialist (3) Moldy Crow (3) Prototype Pilot (17) Chardaan Refit (-2) Autothrusters (2) Bandit Squadron Pilot (12) Total: 100 View in Yet Another Squad Builder

Chewbacca crew works well too if you don't have R2 or C3PO.
-
I think R2 or C3PO are better crew option for Miranda and Advanced Slam over Shield Upgrade. R2 will allow you to trigger Miranda's ability to hit 0 shields and regenerate under your terms. C3PO will mitigate a lot of damage. Advanced Slam will let you arc dodge like a SOB.
-
I wonder what action based EPT might work well on him? Marksmanship for a counter shot or Daredevil to get out of arc?
-
Ten Numb with G-Chip might be interesting.

What about something like this? This way your 3rd ship is a real threat. Ello becomes the 3rd priority target. Asty isn't as good hunting aces but you have Poe and the Red Vet minimizes the number of rerolls an opponent with predator gets. I might even look to swap out Asty for Blue Ace if AT are a must, or maybe use Hobbie as your stressbot carrier. Poe Dameron (31) Veteran Instincts (1) R5-P9 (3) Autothrusters (2) Ello Asty (30) R2-D2 (4) Integrated Astromech (0) Red Squadron Veteran (26) Wired (1) R3-A2 (2) Integrated Astromech (0) Total: 100 View in Yet Another Squad Builder or Poe Dameron (31) Veteran Instincts (1) R5-P9 (3) Autothrusters (2) "Blue Ace" (27) R7-T1 (3) Autothrusters (2) Red Squadron Veteran (26) Wired (1) R3-A2 (2) Autothrusters (2) Total: 100 View in Yet Another Squad Builder

I have been trying to figure out a good imperial control list. I am looking at the new Defender but I wanted to get the board's opinion on this idea. Kath Scarlet (38) Rebel Captive (3) Rear Admiral Chiraneau (46) Emperor Palpatine (8) Total: 95 View in Yet Another Squad Builder The idea is that the Emperor changes Kath's attack roll to a critical to insure stress. I am looking at adding th calculation EPT to Kath and changing Rebel captive to Recon Spec so Kath can generate her own criticals. That would leave 4 points for additional upgrades. I might put rebel captive on the admiral or maybe expose or predator to give some extra punch. Thoughts?

Why not just use the calculation ept for the same affect?

What about something like this? Jek Porkins (26) Elusiveness (2) R5-P9 (3) Integrated Astromech (0) Red Squadron Pilot (23) R2-D6 (1) Draw Their Fire (1) Integrated Astromech (0) Rookie Pilot (21) R2 Astromech (1) Integrated Astromech (0) Rookie Pilot (21) R2 Astromech (1) Integrated Astromech (0) Total: 100 View in Yet Another Squad Builder DTF is a tough sell for me as R5P9 can't clear face up cards and that's what DTF draws, plus elusiveness pairs better with Porkins. This still gets you some additional durability from DTF. Or you can put expert handling on Porkins to get him a barrel roll.

You've heard of the X-Wing Campaign Against Cancer events, then? Could pay a little extra for a coin that automatically granted initiative choice (unless your opponent had it, too, then the default rules were used, but heck - it was for charity!) The 2015 coin with my list for the event here in PDX - a heck of a lot of fun, absolutely going to do 2016 when it's announced! I didn't know about that. I live a couple of hours from the location in VA. If I had known I would have played. I will keep my eye out for 2016. Thanks for the heads up.
-
As a cancer survivor and a casual player i would make the time to play in a charity tournament or buy a card/ship whose proceeds go to charity.
-
Keyan with Stay on Target can be fun.
-
Lets turn this around a bit. Congratulations on the win.
-
I lean towards wired using the same rationale that you have already used. He will always be stressed and wired is useful on offense and defense.
-
Or the assumption that people are already fielding Astros with their X-Wings, which most people I know do. I agree in general tat is true but it was a direct reference to Biggs, who a lot of people don't add anything to, not even a 1 point R2.
-
Biggest thing I noticed was wen they discussed the integrated astromech card they said mentioned added durability at zero squad cost, which implies a zero point astromech.
