  1. Not a bad idea. Imperial assault had no problem doing it. Only current change is maybe getting rid of the EPT on the scouts (A low cost unique bot to replace it?). At least makes more thematic sense, as a 3 pilot skill scum scout has an EPT? Im smelling $$$ on why they added this in- it would sell a lot of scouts!
  2. Without a random selection in the beginning, you are biasing the tournament. You really need to be fair in a tournament setting to all.
  3. At 20+ pages, I don't blame people for not reading the whole thread, but 12 pages is hardly a lot to ask, especially when the purpose of your post is to disagree with what others are saying without the context of the rest of the thread. There are times when I don't post because I know I haven't read the whole thread. There are other times that I post without reading the whole thread, but I make that explicit in my post and keep an open mind, remembering that I don't have the whole story.Sure bud, speak for yourself, 200+ posts now is a lot. It is not that interesting to me, now all the changes with FAQ on the other hand...Hey, you asked, I answered. Simple as that. Haha, it was rhetorical. But now we can double Gonk. Nice. And how this new flow chart works. Good stuff.

  5. Other TO actually gave the go ahead, he was the employee, the none employee decided against it. The none employee TO also didn't suggest it, the player in the wrong did as a challenge. You really should read all the pages before jumping to conclusions. Not only challenging a TO that's enforcing a rule, but also being wrong about a ruling is more then grounds for ejection from the tournament. Well, if it is anything like what you just wrote, no thanks. And come on, who always reads every page before commenting anyways? It should go without saying, but if the OP facts are wrong then it should be obvious that the conclusions I may have made dont accurately apply.
  6. Looks like the FAQ addressed this issue. Place tokens on all ordinance INCLUDING the extra munitions card. You can instead only discard the token! "If Boba Fett is used to discard an Upgrade card that has an ordnance token on it (including the Extra Munitions Upgrade card itself), the opposing player can discard the ordnance token instead." I think it is a fair choice. Good job to ZealuxMyr for pointing out the EM card is a munition card itself.
  7. Oh please, give me a break. Kicking someone out is a simply excessive and the other TO in fact, disagreed. Just watch any worlds tourney games and look at the 'take backs' and you want to say some random game tournament is more important because one overreaching TO didnt get his way?
  8. Sounds horrible, but if your in competitive play, just go for a large initiative big so you pick. Solved.
  9. It would have been perfect if they put in the 'real' Jyn Orrs as the lead with Kyle. Asian female lead... perfect.
  10. Haha and it took 14 more posts for someone to catch it on a Star Wars forum!
  11. Bingo! So, this game has been out about ONE year and people are freaking out? Just look at Netrunner which has been out a few years are the sheer magnitude of cards out. It is overwhelming and newcomers would not readily jump in competitively. I prefer only one wave in an entire year vs rushed unbalanced stuff constantly being released.
  12. I agree allows smaller barrier to entry. For instance, if you are new at Netrunner would you dare try to play competitively?
  13. The second sentence of Extra Munitions is, "When you are instructed to discard an Upgrade card, you may discard 1 ordnance token on that card instead." This is a triggered effect. It has a trigger condition ("When you are instructed to discard an Upgrade card") and an effect with a cost ("discard 1 ordnance token on that card instead"). It works the same way that, say, R7 Astromech does. R7 has a trigger condition ("when defending, if you have a target lock on the attacker") and an effect with a cost ("spend the target lock to choose any or all attack dice. The attacker must reroll the chosen dice"). If R7 is discarded, then its effect is no longer in play, so it can't be triggered. Only the first sentence of Extra Munitions applies at setup. The second sentence is a triggered effect that is only accessible for as long as the card is in play. I can definitely see your point of view. Lets hope for clarification with a new FAQ with wave 8.
  14. Look at it this way, A--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------> EM rules statement on how to treat EM tokens B------------------------------------------ Physical EM card on the ship C C Boba Fetting At time point C, you discard the EM card. However, there is no timing window to check for how the tokens work again- it was a statement at setup. The only timing on how the tokens work (If they are still available at point C) is at setup. There is not another check on the EM card during the game.
  15. When EM is discarded, it leaves the tokens on the upgrades but they don't have any effect without the EM card in play. Well would that be the same as and X-wing with R2-D6 in regards to discarding the droid, you still get to keep the ept? The tokens don't have any inherent effect. Without the Extra Munitions upgrade in play they are just meaning less tokens. If Extra Munitions would have just instructed you to place the tokens on all of your Bomb, Missile, and Torpedo upgrades and the rest of the card ended up on a on an Ordnance Token rule card, then losing the Extra Munitions upgrade would have no effect. Isnt that exactly what EM does? You literally put a token on each ordinance with a rule statement on how the token works, If the token is still there the rule statement applies because the timing for the effect is when you equip it at the start of the game so discarding the EM card is totally pointless. . Rules reference cards are always in effect. For instance, an Ion Token has meaning that is independent from any upgrades that are in play. The effect of a Munitions Token isn't defined anywhere except for the Extra Munitions upgrade. If that card leaves play there are no longer any rules that permit you to use those tokens. This is similar to Agent Kallus. The target he designates remains designated but if he gets discarded that designation is meaningless. Except you dont check for rules with extra munitions during the game. It explicitly states at the setup in the beginning on how the tokens would work. So, if there is a token on the card we know what to do. Taking away the card doesnt take away what you stated in the beginning on how the tokens work because there is not another timing check for applying extra munitions. I really not sure what you are trying to get at other than overly complicating it. Just use Boba fett to go after the munition.

  17. People would get upset? Doubt that, went a few months using the old deck because never got around to sleaving the new deck and the old one damaged me just fine. No one cared in my area.
  18. Seems perfectly clear to me, discard your token only. You keep the original munition. Boba Fett: "... discard one of the defender's upgrade cards". Extra munitions: "...When you are instructed to discard an upgrade card, discard one ordinance token on that card instead."
  19. Cant this be one post rather than spamming the front page with a post for each ship?
  20. I would add, Xwing is a lot more streamlined and quite frankly simpler to pick up and play. I think the overall IA game is simply more complicated to play skirmish. You have character powers, command card powers, and scenario rules on top of the game rules in a skirmish game.
  21. Well, surprise! People can overlook things especially if it has never occurred to you.
  22. Kind of depends too, lets say you have initiative with PS1 ships. I would just let you set your dials. Above case only if others ships have moved, and information is revealed.
  23. There are rules on that? Either way the players should come to an agreement then if they cannot call the TO.
