  1. A is the correct resolve. You are not treating the attack as range 1, but simply applying its bonus to the attack.
  2. That isn't what that means. When it says "attempt", it means, regardless weather or not you complete the maneuver or not (fully execute or partially execute), you gain the stress. It does not mean you gain it before hand. You're forgetting the steps on executing the maneuver. Checking the difficulty (and thus gaining/removing stress) always happens *after* the ship is moved. So it is possible to execute a Red slam maneuver. But you are right that you cannot execute a red maneuver, and Then perform a slam action ( of any kind) as the stress will prevent the Slam Action itself.
  3. This, to me, is enough to qualify DMS as always resolving before emergency deployment.. But.. there is something else. To me, im reading the steps as. - Ship is destroyed - After a ship is destroyed timing window. (DMS triggers here) - Before ship is removed timing window. (emergency deployment here) - Ship is removed from the game I read being 'destroyed', and being 'removed from game' as different timing windows, thus meaning DMS always happens first. But maybe thats just me? I thought FFG actually cleared this up, but i guess they didnt.. or i cannot find where they did.
  4. Basically, yes. If...though normal deployment means... you are able to drop one, you must drop one. If, however, the only way you can drop one, is by using an ability that skirts the normal dropping mechanic, then you are not forced to drop one.
  5. This is how i take it to mean. They just don't want you laying bombs on top of each other to double up a narrow range where you may just barely tag one ship. It also falls in line with.. "the easiest ruling to deal with is most likely the correct one" philosophy i try to follow.
  6. I'm looking forward to trying it with Emon. He's the reason i like flying Firesprays
  7. Well, this is similar to Cluster Mines. "A Cluster Mine Set consists of 3 individual Cluster Mine devices." However, i agree it gets tricky because you are still resolving a singular ability, meaning even if they did trigger individually, you wouldn't be able to interrupt the drop of the first, use the trigger, then drop the second, and use the trigger again. You'd have to drop both, then deal with the triggers.. So guess ultimately, id say each resolution of the ability (dropping the pair) is one singular trigger. At least, thats how i read it.
  8. Of course i realize, "as its written", it should fit. I also realize LBN isnt the end all of rules for list building. I was just stating a possible intent. (also, yes, that app is a mess of a trash fire, didnt think they were even still updating it. Didnt hey say they were not going to until they rebuilt it?) Fair point i guess. Suppose the requirement isn't really necessary as FFG probably assumes that logically, nobody would equip him on a ship he cannot be used on anyway. So does this mean that, if the requirements for an action doesn't list a difficulty, then any difficulty of that action qualifies it for the build? My assumption was if it didnt list it, then it defaults to white, but this hux thing kills that theory. Also not sure what other instances this applies to atm.
  9. This pretty much sums it up. I'm fairly certain the people who write up the articles, are not the same people who make the mechanics or the rules. They probably just glance over the ability's and think they work together. The articles are not rules binding by any stretch so i wouldn't worry too much about it.
  10. or in the case of buzz droids on the rear guides, boosting. It actually makes it very difficult to get buzz droids to work on a Delta-7 due to Fine-Tuned Controls. Getting the ETA-2 may be a bit easier at least for the launch of them. But still not that easy. Guess Obi-wan is a bad barrel roller
  11. Is he though? Given Hux has similar wording to Daredevil, im more inclined to believe that FFG missed the White Coordinate requirement on Hux. (dont know if that image will stay up or not) As 505 said, without a white coordinate action, hux cannot be used anyway so not sure what the purpose would be to put him on a Xi without tac officer.
  12. Correct. Buzz droids only follow if they are overlapped. Which wont happen on a side slip.
  13. There is always that possibility with FFG. They have made some rather controversial rulings in the past that went against what most of the community *thought* they were intending. If its been confirmed by FFG that the insert is correct, then we should see that reflected in the next RR update. Frankly, im fine with it working either way, just thought it was an interesting topic to discuss.
  14. Exactly. The ring itself is its own thing, just able to give starting position to multiple ships, rather than specifying an ability or single upgrade to one ship. This more or less gives Han Solo's (resistance) ability to the Jedi, while having a little bit of position tweaking on the first round before detaching and leaving it to its fate and letting the smaller ships do what they will. You could shoot the ring if you have nothing better to do i guess, but its primary use is during setup, so once thats burned out, it more or less becomes a hindrance so your enemy wont really gain much advantage by destroying it, other than getting it out of the way of for overlap sake. To me, this feels Far more of a "here is something you can play with for scenarios" kind of a thing, which i think is really cool. Id still like to make a HotAC but for Clone Wars era, and this would be a fun thing to include in that. Where as normal ships can hyper out, if you pick one of those three ships, sure its powerful in combat, but you need to worry about keeping the ring intact and get to it in order to safely leave the area. That kind of thing. Not everything needs to be tournament competitive and i like that FFG includes scenario driven items like this
  15. I would think it will be its own thing and not an upgrade, similar to the Nashtah Pup, given it has its own 'pilot' card. He's probably referring to 'part of your ship' in a similar way that you pay for a docked ship as 'part of your ship' like with the VCX or Scum Falcon.
  16. Yeah, in Non-epic format (heck even in standard 3x3 play area games) its too cumbersome to be of any use, and too vulnerable to not just get blown up unless its being used in a 6x3 area with 400+ points worth of other targets too pick from. It just seems to be mainly a thematic thing to have fun with in scenario plays.
  17. **** i hate this forum system!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Correct. The hyperspace ring only moves at speed 1. Nope. No attack value. You also do not gain the pilot ability, force charges, action bar, or upgrades as the ship itself would then technically be in reserve and the control link rings are treated as the 'mothership'. Yes. I mean it makes sense since the rings would be destroyed while attached to the ship, or close enough to it to do damage. Also note, information ive heard is that these rings are only for Epic play, and not expanded/tournament legal.
  18. This is my thought as well. Given how small remotes are, it makes a kind of sense. Or, more simply put, stop people using remotes as damage a card sponge to mill their own damage deck down to either help take Direct hits out of play, or in the case of Kylo, remove pilot crits. That is just a theory though.
