Pretty much every prequel combat scene was pretty and well choreographed but utterly soulless, people who say the lightsaber fights are better in the prequels utterly miss what the OT fights are representative of.
Such an astute comment. The best lightsaber fights, in order are:
Luke vs Vader RotJ
Luke vs Vader ESB
Obi Wan vs Vader ANH
Everything else goes here, but I guess Phantom Menace is next because by the time you get to Obi Wan vs Anakin you've had so many lightsaber fights they're not special anymore. Nothing kills the cool factor of the Jedi like a thousand computer animated Jedi fighting together.
I'd swap ESB and RotJ, but otherwise I completely agree with this. Although I only bump ESB up because I like that it keeps changing locations.

I tried to read Heir to the Jedi, but the 1st person perspective was just too jarring in a SW novel.
Didn't like "I, Jedi" either, eh?

I think based on the ORS mere 2 attack dice the primary need would be a way to increase it's Damage output. One ability I thought of would be to allow the ship to make 2 primary weapon attacks per turn but you may not fire at the same target twice, to represent non convergent firing arcs (top and bottom).
Oh i really like that, thematically. May not pan out for tournament play, but as someone who likes to put Star Wars first, and the rules second, that would look cool as heck.

But those are Rebel homebrew prototypes...
We've got a traitor selling off Alliance military gear...
Are you suggesting that pirates actually purchased B-wings? I think those might be the worst pirates I've ever heard of.

Do you have to put anything on the mini surface to make the dry pigment stick when first applying it?
I've never had to do something like that though I would suspect that a model that has been given a good coat of gloss varnish would most likely be more slippery. Any paint, not just dry pigments would have trouble sticking to such a surface.
Awesome. I'm planning on going out to get some new supplies, and I just wanted to make sure I wasn't going to need some kind of additional fixative.
Thank you so much!

This is so cool I just added him to an all-interceptor squadron I've been toying with.
I'm with you!
Soontir, PTL, RGT, SU, AT
Turr, VI, RGT, SU, AT
Tetran, SoT, RGT, SU, AT
Arc dodger awesomeness! We'd been debating this in the rules question forum this week, so great timing on the answer.
That's pretty much exactly the build I made too! Hahaha!

Welcome to the madness.
Yeah, I've only been at this about 3 months and I have 25 minis already (4 of which are large ships). "Madness" is accurate.
I have 35 and I started this in February. Is there a thread where we can give our names and go through 12 steps or something like that? Might be handy...
To be fair, if I didnt have to eat or pay rent (or fix my car... rassm frassm thing is why I dont have scum ships yet), I'd have more than I already do. But real life is getting in the way of my new obsession. :-D

I never thought that I would play a tabletop minis game seriously... Just seemed like such a huge investment, especially considering how affordable D&D is, comparatively.
But man did i fall hard for this system. Reasonably affordable miniatures, a setting I've loved my entire life, rules that aren't ridiculously complicated...
It's pretty much perfect for me. -
Puts me in mind of the good ole West End Games...

That was the first RPG I was ever a DM for, way back in high school. Also the first RPG handbook I ever bought. Used my first ever paycheck to buy it, too. I've got a LOT of nostalgia tied up in that old game system, haha!

The link I tossed up has a huge breakdown, faction specific purchase lists, rules for acquiring as many EPT's, mods, and weapons as you can afford.
My two favorite ships were my own personal x wing, with 4 hull and 3 shields, and adrenaline rush for tense moments and the two stolen tie fighters some of our rebels kept instead of trading. Both at 4 hull and 1 shield, with ion cannons and sensor jammers.
Those two kept the skies ioned, while the x wings (and one ridiculous Rec spec y wing) mowed down everything that stood in our way.
I miss campaign nights.
Is there anywhere with a more elaborate breakdown of your rules system? I might be reading that wrong, but I cant figure out how gaining experience works. (sorry if its really obvious, I just woke up.)
Adding campaign elements to x-wing is about the best idea I've ever heard. I love that kinda stuff.

The important part of that tweet was "extended the license for many years".
Yeah, thats what I focused on as well.

I fully support putting the whole Azzameen clan into this game. I LOVE X-Wing: Alliance.
Let's get a ship for Olin Garn, while we're at it. -
Ion Mines actually have some in-universe support, as Warlord Zsinj used them in the Wraith Squadron novel.

Pulsar skate,

Vs.
Baudo-class

The skate is supposedly a modified Baudo but this strikes people as weird because they look so different. I think there are reasonable explanations to this using real world examples such as one type of car being rebuilt into another.
Its in the order of extreme pimp my ride though perhaps the smuggler Skate has more desirable performance specs over the pleasure craft of the Baudo it does seem to have more engines.
I really prefer the Baudo design for the Skate. It's always described as looking like sea-life... and boy oh boy does that other design not look aquatic at all.

Pulsar skate!!!
I love the Pulsar Skate so much. But I think she's a large ship, as opposed to a huge.

That kinda reminds me of the old days of Xcom and terror from the deep.
If you kept sending your A squad it was truly tragic when one bit the big one.
But you always had one useless git survivor.
That's probably because I experienced such a thing first hand with the new X-com (Enemy Unknown). Nothing like getting your butt kicked and having your A-team in the morgue or in hospital beds for two weeks when a terror mission shows up. You NEED a B-team (and probably a solid C-team) if you're playing that game on Iron Man, which is the only way to really play that game.
XCOM is EXACTLY what I thought of when I read that description. High five!

There likely isn't anything special you need to do at all. It sounds like it's just a time set aside for people to play.
So bring your stuff, and play what ever list strikes your fancy or make one on the spot. There isn't likely an requirement that you stick to a single list the whole time or anything.
Most likely it's no different than playing with your friends only it will be people you don't already know.
Cool. That's what I figured, but I was worried I was missing something. This is also my first minis game I've ever gotten into, so I'm not just new to the game, I'm new to basically the whole format.
I play D&D, but it's not the same at all, haha.
Thanks for the help!

Oh, I like how dirty the wash made the A-Wing look! Whoever is flying that has got some stories to tell.
