All good points. I wasn't trying to make the case for Kagi, I just felt sorry for all the named shuttle pilots that never see the light of day. A fellow can get tired of only flying OGPs every time.
-
Why you can't make him work? Is his ability too short-ranged or is this combo too expensive? Or even both? I think it's mostly the range restriction, the Shuttle has a hard time keeping up with the ships that would benefit the most. If only his ability worked at Range 1-2 it would be great support ship.

I know I really wish I could make Colonel Jendon work... and the ST-321 title... and Weapons Engineer...
-
I confess that I never paid much attention to Enhanced Scopes, mostly because there was much more interesting stuff to be had in the Rebel Aces pack. But the more i use them, the more I like them.

I hope I'm not the only person who, after reading the thread title said; "Can't get enough of that Doublemint Scum." .... I should leave.

Lately I've been referring to Keyan Farlander as "Cayenne'. The spiciest of B-Wing Aces.

A recent post reminded that this poor neglected Shuttle pilot exists, and I started to think; what new upgrades do we have at our disposal to bring this fellow out of retirement? I give you, the Kagi Scapegoat. Captain Kagi (27) + Enhanced Scopes (1) + Rebel Captive (3) + Intelligence Agent (1) + Tactical Jammers (1) = 33 points total Move first to get in the thick of things, soak up target locks. Rebel Captive somewhat discourages people from shooting at Kagi, especially with all the two ship lists around. Tactical Jammers further provides support for his entourage. Imperial Biggs? Or huge waste of points? But what else to fill out the list? This build probably wouldn't help slippery fighters like Phantoms and Interceptors too much. HLC Defenders and Firesprays seem madefo this guy. Howl + a mini swarms would like the protection from Tactical Jammers. I'm leaning towards this as a mostly for fun list: Kagi's Convoy Kagi Scapegoat (33) Colonel Vessery (35) + Veteran Instincts (1) + Heavy Laser Cannon (7) 2x Academy Pilots I thought about dropping Int. Agent to put Wingman on the Colonel, but I don't really like the idea of turning the game board into a parking lot. Any thoughts?

Swap Enhanced Scopes for Accuracy Corrector so that you can cancel all your dice (#YOLO). You really only need Darth Vader as your damage source. Gotta make it fair for the next guy.

Ten Numb and Flechette Cannon, Phantom hunter bu
RedDave87 replied to gamblertuba's topic in X-Wing Squad Lists
I'd probably spend the 2 more points to upgrade Flechette Cannon to the Mangler as well. Ever since I started playing this game I've been trying to find a home for Mercenary Copilot. I have tried a Wild Space Fringer with Mangler, Outrider Title, Merc Copilot. Dishing out 2 crits at Range 3 with no extra defense die was pretty nice. -
I like this idea. We'll call it the Underdogs league.
-
That's fair. Fortunately, you don't neceassarily have to try to gurantee Tactician every turn. Take the shots when and where they come. Plus you have an area denial in front of the cow that nobody wants to get stuck in. I've been surprised at just how useful Accuracy Corrector has been. You don't lose damage potential when using your action to boost or after a red move. I think I actually like it better than Advance Sensors on the shuttle at least.

I've been thinking about what to pair up with Ol' Stressy-Bessy. I think we might have something here. OGP (21) + Accuracy Corrector (3) + Gunner (5) + Tactician (2) +Engine Upgrade (4) = 35 Sigma Squadron Pilot (25) + Intelligence agent (1) + Enhanced Scopes (1) + Stygium Particle Accelerator (2) = 29 3x Academy Pilots = 36 Total:100 Use the APs to block and trap helpless victims for the Distressing Albino Void Buffalo. Sigma mops up whatever is left. 13 attack dice and 23 HP to chew through. The biggest danger to this list is of course Predator, considering only Sigma is safe. Any thoughts?

Good ol' Stressy Bessy. I flew this build the other day along with Kath w/Rebel Captive. by the end of the round, there wasn't an enemy ship with less than 2 stress each.
-
Any list with Dutch is my favorite. This was one of the first lists that I really fell in love with. The Almighty Dutchess + ICT +R7-T1 (BTLA4 title incoming) 31 Garven Dreis 26 Airen Cracken + VI 20 Blue Squadron Pilot 22 The action passing. Good Lord the action passing...

Do you play the Mid Meta? (or what level do you prefer to play at?)
RedDave87 replied to Marinealver's topic in X-Wing
Mid to Low. I try to keep up with the High tier, just so i can have something to complain about. -
List time. Imperial Control? Kath Scarlet (38) + Predator (3) + Rebel Captive (3) = 41 Stressy Bessy = 35 Tempest Squadron Pilot (21) + X1 Title + Accuracy Corrector (0) = 21

For me, the trick with Corran is not to use his ability every turn. Use it when you're in Range 1 to put the hurt on someone, or especially if that second shot will destroy something. I really like PTL, FCS, R2-D2, EU. Shoot twice, then get out of dodge.
-
The wording on Intimidation seems to imply that the agility drop lasts the entire turn. Good way to stop C-3PO on a Falcon.
-
Mercenary Copilot? That saucy Rodian remains unaffiliated.

I just recently flew a Blue Squadron B-wing with a Tactician for the first time. It was brutal... Flechette Cannon could be useful, despite all the flak it's been getting lately. People need to remember that you don't need to use it every turn. Plus, it's only 2 points! I can't believe how harsh people judge a 2 point upgrade. P.S. Psycho Tycho laughs at everything. That's just how he is.

New name for this version of the great space cow: Ol' Stressin' Bessy.
-
That certainly would be cheaper. And it is a reasonable stress cow. Or it could just be a Buzzsaw shuttle instead. But to be honest, I've only ever had moderate results with the Buzzsaw shuttle in the past. with this build, you have the ability to do both. It's just an idea to get more out of combining the two builds.
