That's definitely the go to Kavil build. That being said, I kinda like this version with ICT. It'll be especially useful if Soontir Fel with Stealth Device + Autothrusters ends up being as popular as people imagine. Also Phantoms hate to see this version of Kavil. Maybe add Predator/Lone Wolf or Veteran Instincts for ghostbusting.

I never realized how brutal Etahn could be with BTL Y-wings. Potentially dealing a crit with each of their two attacks. Unfortunately, the Ion Cannon Turret cancels your crits results, and the Autoblaster Turret wants regular hits. That leaves only the poor Blaster Turret and all of it's inconveniences. Scum has access to the R4 Agromech, but they don't have access to Etahn... A conundrum...
-
Accuracy Corrector says "cancel all dice results and then you MAY add 2 (boom) results to your roll". You could choose not to add any (boom) results and cancel the attack to trigger Gunner. Only really useful with Tactician or Flechette Torpedoes and Munitions Failsafe. Omicron Group Pilot + Accuracy Corrector + Gunner + Tactician + Engine Upgrade (35) Shameless plug for my beloved Stress Cow.

I think unhinged will see use with BTLs to give them a few more movement options. I also think Unhinged might see some use on Autoblaster Y-wings, to help them get into range 1. I just don't know how effective Autoblaster Turret is going to be with or without BTL title. Still, it's only 21 points though. Budget warthog.

I really like Ficklegreendice's mobility build. I think I would run: Keyan + Advanced Sensors + Stay On Target +Bwing/E2 + intelligence Agent or Tactician if you like (36/37) Tarn Mison +R7 (25) 1x Tala Squadron 2x Banditos (98/99 Points total) This way you have another target to draw some fire off of Keyan and a better late game ship in Tarn. Banditos for blocking obviously. I also like at least one Tala to go with Tarn so that it can shoot first and hopefully strip a shield or two, then Tarn can shoot back with Focus and maybe a Target lock.

Accuracy Correcting Doom Shuttle (aka what's worse than doom?)
RedDave87 replied to gamblertuba's topic in X-Wing
That's pretty nice. I still think I'd get more mileage out of Tactician on the same build with less risk though. -
You, sir, are correct on the wording of AC. That must be an intended use of the card otherwise why add "you may" twice. The idea being on a ship with gunner you can just scrub your first roll all together and try again? Has this been discussed to death somewhere and I missed it? I vaguely remember it being discussed with Flechette Torpedoes and Munitions Failsafe as an expensive way to deal out stress without losing the ordnance. The general opinion was that it wasn't worth losing an attack for it. A B-wing could set this up, but it can't have Gunner. Both the B-wing/E2 and the Munitions Failsafe are both modifications. We had a dialogue about the above Shuttle build when I first posted it. http://community.fantasyflightgames.com/index.php?/topic/130317-stress-shuttle/#entry1386473

If you like a stress dealing shuttle, try this: OGP + Accuracy Corrector + Gunner + Tactician + Engine Upgrade (35) Use AC to cancel all dice results on your first attack (it says MAY add 2 hit results), and give defender a stress. Gunner kicks in, and you can shoot the same target or another and hand out a second stress and some damage.

I would probably run something like this: Wedge; Predator (32) Corran; Veteran Instincts + Fire-Control systems + R2-D2 (42) Biggs (25) (99 points total)
-
I seem to recall a poster a few months back came up with an idea to use expose on Corran with little risk. I seem to remember he used Airen Cracken with Decoy and some 1-2 pilot skill generic to swap with. Cracken shoots late in the turn, passes an action to Corran, and Corran triggers Expose for the second shot.

And sensors say skip, so this is absolutely correct Either way, though, Vader with Advance Sensors really wouldn't be all that amazing. As long as he's limited to 2 attack dice without system modifiers, he's basically an A-wing with a worse dial balanced by having what is essentially PTL that doesn't stress him. No matter how awesome he is, no matter how many actions he gets, his value is still going to have to be measured by how many of the opponent's points he can efficiently kill or help kill. Because this value was laughably low across all advance pilots relative to their cost...well, it's how we got the fix in the first place. Harsh, but very true. For the record, I am very excited about ATC. I'ts exactly what the Tie Advance has been looking for since Wave 1. *Edit: Whoops, quote mechanic didn't work. I was quoting FickleGreenDice.

The Wastes of Eriador
RedDave87 replied to MyNeighbourTrololo's topic in The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game
I really like the new Valour keyword. It feels like something we've been missing. And... The most Valorous hero of all... Grima. Hmm... Something's not right here. -
Sadly, Vader does not work with Advanced Sensors, his ability says "during the perform action step".
-
Very true. I wonder if Accuracy Corrector with Outmaneuver would put out enough damage. You could still spend your two actions to reposition/turtle up. And no C-3P0 for morbidly obese Solo!
-
I think people are too focused on ATC as being an auto-include. While it is arguably the best offensive upgrade, especially on Vader and Maarek; we are given several good options in system upgrades. Accuracy Corrector being another one. I personally have a soft spot for Sensor Jammer, it doesn't get enough respect. I've used it and R2-D2 on an E-Wing and SJ prevented more damage than R2 did (something like 4 damage I think). All that to say that Advanced Targeting Computer is probably the best upgrade for the named Tie Advances (which is why it costs you 1 point instead of being free), but it is in no way the only upgrade that makes the ship worth it. Just a month ago Vader with Outmaneuver and Engine Upgrade was considered a decent ship. Albeit, light on the offense department, but still viable.
-
You could try swapping the Advance Targeting Computer for Sensor Jammer, and then maybe swap Predator for Outmaneuver. You lose a little in the offense department, but Sensor Jammer is a tragically under appreciated upgrade.
-
To make Keyan a little more survivable, I like PTL + B/E2 + Jan Ors (crew). Target Lock, then PTL for a focus (turned into an evade) and a stress. I've found the focus token to be a little redundant with Keyan's ability, so you might as well get 1 evade for your troubles.
-
Instead of Hull Upgrade or Ion Cannon, how about B-wing/E2 + Tactician for 3 points? It would give you another stress inducer which is arguably more useful with all the big ships around. Keyan shouldn't have any trouble staying in range 2.
-
Except it isn't 4 hits guaranteed, it is 2 attacks each with 2 hits guaranteed. The defender gets to roll defense on both attacks. Sure, against Decimators they will rip it to shreds, but considering Auto-thrusters are coming first it is highly probably that the number of turret ships will decrease to reasonable levels, plus against Han or Dash those defense dice (especially on Dash) will just be mean. Again, I accidentally wrote "4 hits" instead of 4 hit RESULTS, even though your unmodified results may be better still. I mostly just wanted to point out the damage potential of AC + Cluster Missiles, and how useful it could be against low agility ships.
-
Accuracy Corrector doesn't guarantee any hits. It guarantees hit results. I know that's what you meant and I'm nit-picking. Oh yeah, good catch. Two hit results is what I meant.
-
A Tie Advanced with Accuracy Corrector and Cluster Missiles is pretty terrifying. It guarantees at least 4 hits with the potential for more on a better roll. 4x Tempest Squadron Pilot + Accuracy Corrector + Cluster Missiles 100 points I call this squad; "Decimator, decimated." *Edit "4 hit RESULTS"

I always flew Garvin with Dutch, but in today's crazy Phantom filled world, I think Hobbie is the better wingman for Dutch. If you dropped the Tala to a Bandito, you could change Porkins to Wedge + Predator. In case the fat man doesn't work out for you. honestly, Porkins needs more table time, so I say leave him in.
-
Any list with Dutch, I immediately approve. Best list ever, 10/10. I especially like in this list, that Hobbie can K-turn, and take a stress. Dutch moves, performs a TL and passes a TL to Hobbie. Hobbie clears stress. Hobbie fires, takes a stress to give stress. Spends TL lock to clear stress. Ultimately you end up with a free K-turn with no downside and no stress and a stressed enemy. Very nice. I've been very curious about this build of Porkins with Stay on Target. I've tried him PTL, R5-D8, and Hull Upgrade, to moderate success. He just didn't quite live up to his 35 point cost. P.S. For fluff reasons I think Porkins should always have a Hull Upgrade. He needs a double-wide X-wing to accommodate his enormous self.

I think it's time to find a home for Colonel Jendon next. Maybe passing out Target Locks to Tempest Squadron Pilots when ATC finally gets here.
