Arknur reacted to Bitterman in Imperial Assault Tools - List Builder, Card Editor, more...
Download the Imperial Assault Tools Suite here!
The Imperial Assault Tools Suite is a collection of Windows apps, including:
Imperial Assault Skirmish List Builder
- Build your Skirmish lists from all the official Deployment and Command cards.
- Intelligently filters out cards you can't take (such as Rebel cards in an Imperial list).
- Export to images, PDF (various options), Word, or the Tabletop Admiral web app.
- Lots of cool little features to help you build your lists; for example five-star ratings for Command cards.
- And more!
Imperial Assault Skirmish List Organizer
- Keep track of all your skirmish lists; just tell it which folder to look in.
- At-a-glance view of what each list contains.
- Tag and filter lists.
- Export multiple lists into the same PDF.
- And more!
Imperial Assault Card Editor
- Make your own completely custom (deep breath) Deployment, Command, Skirmish, Hero, Agenda, Side Mission, Reward/Class, Equipment, Companion, Condition, or Form cards!
- Start from scratch or clone existing cards.
- Insert special Imperial Assault symbols using <tags>.
- Export cards as images. Print one or more cards at the right size.
- And more!
Imperial Assault Card Viewer
- Not big, not clever: just lets you view entire sets of cards at once.
...and more to come!
The tools suite is under active (if irregular) development, and I plan to add even more useful stuff to it at some point (including a Mission Editor, Campaign Tracker and Dice/Stats App). Check back occasionally for new features!
One more time - download the Imperial Assault Tools Suite here!
P.S. No, the tools suite does not work on web, Linux, MacOS nor anything other than Windows. No, it never will. Sorry.
P.P.S. If you use this tool, and like it, and felt like you wanted to make some kind of concrete recognition for the work that went into it, you can now send me money by PayPal... if you want. No pressure.

Arknur reacted to Sarge144 in Line of Sight Calculator thread
I have created a line of sight calculator and posted it to GitHub. I've started out with the current tournament maps but definitely plan to add campaign maps and skirmish maps outside current rotation.
https://nick-hansen.github.io/ia-los/
To use the tool, select a map, place your attacker (blaster), place a defender (target), and possibly some blocking models (shield). The map will default to the first line of sight it can display, or none if line of sight is not possible. If more than one line of sight is available, you can change the Lines of Sight dropdown to view them.
The lines drawn on the map are not pixel perfect. The grid is there to help players select spaces, and view results. The actual calculations are performed in code, not the displayed image.
I hope this project helps Imperial Assault players, speeds up situations where its tough to tell how close a shot is, and enhances the game.
I want to thank Nick (nickv2002) for granting permission to use the map images from the Imperial-Assault-Skirmish-Map-Project GitHub project.
Added Features
Attacker View - highlight all tiles to which Attacker has line of sight Defender View - highlight all tiles which have line of sight to Defender Comprehensive View - which tiles can this tile see? Which tiles can see this tile? Which tiles have mutual line of sight? Clear button to remove Attacker, Defender, and all Blocking models Rules have been updated to prevent shooting around edges Rules have been updated for which edges block LOS fixed bug caused by this update Rotating the map Added Tutorial map to Core Campaign after player request All Skirmish maps added Current Requests:
Displaying deployment zones Displaying/Removing doors Displaying Exterior/Interior areas Odds for making range from square with a given dice pool Add Campaign Maps for other campaigns Please report any bugs found with maps, and requests for enhancements in this thread! 🙂

Arknur reacted to Fourtytwo in Fourtytwo brings a brush and colours to Imperial Assault
Thanks a lot, guys. To add some variety - I'm also building and painting other Star Wars-related stuff, and for those who are interested, here are two examples.
For fun, I painted the GHOST from FFG's X-wing Miniatures Game and my aim was - as usual - to get it as close to the original from the show as possible:
Today I also finished the first half of a long-term-project of mine wich I'm working on now and then - Zvesda's 1:2700 scale (60cm) Imperator 2-Class Star Destroyer. It's a great kit. I'm focusing on painting (electronics is not my thing. so no lighting) and I've also added over 150 teeny-tiny custom details to bring it closer to how the studio model looks. The upper half is done and sealed with matte varnish now.

Arknur reacted to Kraemet in Kyle Katarn as an Imperial Assault Hero #neverforget
So, because Disney left Kyle definitively in the dust as of Rogue One and because he is a great fit for IA thematically, I have tried my hand at designing him into the game as a playable hero. He is supposed to be a versatile and self-sufficient hero, who can be built either towards damage/disruption or survivability as you see fit.
This forum allows only for 70kB attachments, so follow this link to see Star Wars' own Chuck Norris in his Imperial Asault Glory along with my commentary.

Feedback welcome - in fact, that's the only reason I'm posting this publicly. It was hard to reconcile the facts that as per canon he'd be able to solo all the missions, but in the game he must function only as exactly 25% of a team and not much more. Some abilities may be too weak as a result and other too useful...
OLD VERSION! SEE NEW IN LINK ABOVE. (The upload functionality of this forum here refuses to cooperate)

Arknur reacted to Trevize84 in Wave 12 Wishlist
Yoda a Brawler force user that can match Vader in strength (we can't have 3rd Luke just because he keeps quitting the meta every 2 expansions)
Ackbar, leader and tactician that can see a trap and let friendly figures escape. "It's a trap!" should be his CC.
Tarkin, a heavy weapon leader that can use death star to do massive AoE
Garindaan for boosting Merc spies in a Blaise fashion

Arknur reacted to Darth evil in Wave 12 Wishlist
Seriously anything that can get Imperials to be able to play Spies or bring stormtroopers back on the table. Kind of sick and tired of the Trooper/Guardian traits being on every Imp release

Yoda. Always Yoda. And something that would thematically make sense to include a Boba Fett fix with.

Arknur reacted to Bitterman in Make your own Deployment Cards - in five minutes or less!
Hi everyone, a few people have asked whether it would be possible to translate (or "localize") the card editor into different languages. Until now, I've always said no - unfortunately this would be too much work.
While it would indeed be far too much work to translate the entire editor interface for non-English languages, I was given the idea today (merci, Julien!) that actually, only the titles of the stats need to change, to make cards usable by non-English-speaking players. All the other text on the cards is entered by the user, so can be in whatever language they see fit.
It's a bit awkward to make this work I'm afraid, and you will need to repeat this each time you download a new version - but new versions are so rare now that hopefully, you won't find that a problem - you may only ever need to do this once.
Download and unzip the app as normal. Find the file "ImpAss.CardEditor.exe.config" in the folder where you unzipped the app. Open that file with Notepad (or other text editor of your choice). Find the following lines, and edit the values as appropriate for the language of your choice. <add key="HealthText" value="Health"/> <add key="SpeedText" value="Speed"/> <add key="DefenseText" value="Defense"/> <add key="AttackText" value="Attack"/> For example, for your cards to be rendered in French, you would change it to look like this: <add key="HealthText" value="Vie"/> <add key="SpeedText" value="Vitesse"/> <add key="DefenseText" value="Defense"/> <add key="AttackText" value="Attaque"/> Save the .config file, run the app as normal, and design your cards! As always, you can download the latest version, which includes these changes, from here. Enjoy!

Arknur got a reaction from miridor in So... Clone Wars Assault anyone?
I do not understand why anyone can be against that IA could have prequel trilogy stuff.
I mean, I do not like ep VII & VIII at all but it will be great if FFG does stuff of them for IA, if that makes "happy" somebody. Being against is irrational and selfish.
So, I totally agree for prequel trilogy stuff, new trilogy stuff (although I will not buy it) and other possibilities of expanding IA (or any other game).
