  1. I have had as many as 6 players, and what I do for players 5 and 6 is give them a non hero group to run, like Luke or Han or Chewie or even troopers or something.  I do nothing special on the Imp side other than what you do when the rebels start with those types of characters.  Works for us.

  2. did you read the QA i posted? they will rotate missions and maps.

Until it shows up on FFG official website, I don't trust ANY information posted elsewhere.  Even if it is a direct quote of someone, their knowledge of what will happen can change.  I can cite many example of people who state things that their game is going to do and in the end it doesn't happen, or is changed from what they originally said was going to happen.

A perfect example of this is that Wargamming originally stated that World of Tanks, World of Warplanes, and World of Battleships would all be linked and have major grand fights a la War Thunder.

Long story short,  Until FFG makes an official news post on missions,  it doesn't matter what someone says.

  3. An interesting idea.  However, if you plan on going up against Vader or the Champion, remember that the Imp player will be running 2 or 3 Imp Officers.  They can get the Major hero as well as the royal guards into position quickly and attack your heroes just as fast.  What I am trying to say is that while your unique heroes do have a white die (for a 1/6th chance of a dodge)  they absorb less damage than what the Imps can, and generally have less health.  That means that your guys will die far to quickly.

Or, worse yet, I am running Vader, Champion and Officer x3.  Turn one try and survive the combined firepower of Vader AND a Champion.....

  4. Regionals are starting up in a few weeks, and I just got done with a small local tournament just so we could all get some good tourney practice in before regionals start.  A question came up today that I think the entire community needs to know about.

From the Tourney FAQ under the heading COMPONENT MODIFICATIONS:

"Deployment and Mission cards must remain unaltered, though they may be sleeved for protection.  Command Cards must be sleeved, and their sleeves must be identical and unaltered."

Command card must be sleeved?  I have never sleeved cards before, why start now?  The TO didn't catch this and one "Rules Nazi" did and tried to get other disqualified from this event.  TO said that this little rule wouldn't be enforced.

Now, what happens at Regionals, especially since FFG is sold out of their yellow sleeves?

  5. We have a guy here in the KC Metro Area, Brandon, who won the Store Championship in Bellevue, NE (Didn't go - don't know the store name) with the following list:

Prince Xizor - PTL, Title, Autothrusters, FCS, Intertial Dampners

    Binayre Pirate x5

  6. There is no regular skirmish night, however, the first Saturday of the month several of us get together and we have a campaign going.  Afterwords we might get a skirmish game going.  If you ever want to play, I play at The Geekery all the time - let them know when you will be up, and I will try to be there to play against you.

  7. Date: Sunday, April 12th

    Time: 12:00pm

    Where:  The Geekery

                  12616 W. 62nd Sterrace $117 Shawnee, KS 66216

    Additional Information:

Come one, come all to an official Imperial Assault Skirmish Tournament.

Top 4/8 only if players wish it.

NOTE: All tourney rules will be followed, including page 6 where tokens from the Starter Box are not allowed.

Get your practice in before the Regionals starting May 16th at Collectors Cache!

  8. Just bought the game cheap online and last night broke it out and played with a friend.  We ran into an issue and didn't see and official online response so I figured I would ask here.

So the rules states (Skirmish page 5) Attacking "Figures can only use on of their actions to attack per activation.  This includes using special actions that involve performing one or more attacks (such as Nexu's "Pounce" or Darth Vader's "Brutality").

This specifically involves Darth Vader/Royal Guard Champion and Brutality.  My friend said that with the ruling that the special action is changed to only 1 attack, and is basically worthless in skirmish games - meant for the Campaign game.

I stated that what the rules were trying to say was that the special action "that caused the attack" could only be used once, and NOT in conjunction with a straight attack action, and would still be able to attack twice.  I cited for example the flurry of blades that had two actions perform three attacks, and command cards are not used on the campaign game.

    Who is right?

  9. Ok, while almost every player will agree to spend their target lock before spending their focus.  BUT, where do single rerolls come in (like Predator or Lone Wolf)?  Where would one do that to have the theoretical "best" chance for a hit/crit?  My thinking would be after spending the target lock and before spending a focus, but maybe the best time is before spending the target lock?

Anyone got any math on this?

  10. I have seen all the BBBY stress builds and thought about this:

    B Wing

    E2 Title

    Tactician

    Flechette Cannon

The question is, what stress is placed first at range 2?  If it is the cannon then both would be applied, if it is the crew members, then just the crew's would be applied (only at range 2).

  11. 1.  You need to shop online to find deals.  I hate to say it, but if you are seriously on a budget, you need to do that instead of going to your FLGS.

    2.  Check Ebay - there are people who are selling off lots of items for 100 to 200

    3.  The catch with this game is that you almost need to get 1 of everything just so you have all the upgrade cards.

HINT:  Get with someone who has a big collection and is willing to let you build squads to test out.  Find out what you like and then only get those ships/packs

  12. Ok, was at a Store Championship yesterday and a situation came up.  I was touching an enemy ship and used Feedback Array on it.  Now, we came up with the solution that because it wasn't a normal attack (see the text of the card below) that it was able to be used on a ship that was touching.  Were we right or should we have asked for a ruling from the TO?

    Feedback Array

" During the Combat Phase, instead of performing any attack, you may receive 1 ion token and suffer 1 damage to choose 1 enemy at Range 1.  That ship suffers 1 damage."

  13. Ok, Outmaneuver kicks in and Han has 0 agility. Can C3PO still work by rolling 0 dice, calling 0, and getting one evade out of it. Before you answer, think of Keyan Farlander and his ability to remove a stress even if he rolls no defence dice.... You can modify a 0, at least that is what I have been told.

  14.

I think the most likely explanation for MM's fulfillment order has less to do with when the pre-order was placed and mostly to do with your distance from St. Louis. I'm sure they try as hard as possible not to break the "street date" of FFG's product, so they'll time shipments accordingly. I.E. since transit from St. Louis to SW Ohio is 2 days, I expect my order to get updated to "shipped" sometime before last call tomorrow.

That would kinda make sense. I'm near Kansas City and it hasn't shipped yet, though I did order fairly late too.

What ticks me off is that if I had waited to order until last night when they claim to have Wave 6 in, and then choose fast(er) shipping, by now they would updated my status from "Pre processing" to shipping.  I would know that my stuff would be delivered in time for the Collectors Cache Tourney on the 28th.

However, I hope that the quoted poster is correct and they are shipping out based on distance and nothing else........  I to am in the KCK Metro area.......

Also, as another posted has said, HELP ME UPS, YOU"RE MY ONLY HOPE!

  15. Ok, first of all SCUM is official as of now - they updated the Tourney info sheets.

NOW, they show on the X wing page that they updated the general FAQ (to 2/20), however, upon downloading it internally it does not show an updated date, or any updated information.....

  16. Ok, so if FFG did a 4th faction, what could, or would, it be?  I can think of 3 possiblities:

    1.  Stuff from the Prequel Trilogies.

    2.  Stuff from The Old Republic era

    3.  For something completely unique, the Yuuzhan Vong.

  17. 1.  StealthX

    2.  Skipray Blastboat

    3.  Missile Boat

    4.  K Wing

    5.  2 seat Y Wing (BTL-S3)

    6.  YT-1300 Scum Variants

    7.  YT-2600 Scum Variants

    8.  Ugly Class Fighters

    9.  I-7 Howlrunner (Basically a shielded TIE with a unique look)

Scum Epic Ship - Wild Karrde
