The #5 player joins the elimination rounds.
Is that in the rules somewhere? If it is, then I missed it.....

OK, official ruling from FFG is that BOTH damage decks are legal (for the time being).
What is wrong with the old deck is that some of the cards don't work on all ships. The new damage deck crit hits work on EVERY ship.

Well the article https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2016/2/26/boba-fett/said they would be at retailers next week now (at least I am almost positive it said next week) they are saying it will be March 17 "Wave VIII are scheduled to arrive at retailers throughout the United States on Thursday, March 17th."
Where have they stated March 17th. Last I saw their twitter said mid March....

Look, I've said it before, and I am going to say it again...... FFG loves to use its art in multiple games. For example, the new RAGE card is the same as the standard Bossk card for Armada. Whisper's art is used in Age of Rebellion. Card art for other things are also in the Star Wars LCG as well as the various artwork and pictures in the RPG books.
Basically, look at what has been done, get an idea there. For example, they have several pictures for the Cloakshape Fighter. Also, they have stated that a fix for X-Wings was in the works (Rebel Veterans?) as well as for the StarViper and Syck (Scum Aces?).

Do away with the Accuracy Corrector and add a Fire Control System. Getting only 50% usage out of a HLC potential damage, well, no.... Also, on Jake, if he is taking a Decimeter, you NEED autothrusters to assist in damage mitigation.....

Large base ships require 2 Ion Tokens to be "Ionized". So the Ion Bomb is able to get everything........
And, since you are probably going to ask, if a large base ship only receives 1 Ion Token, it does stay until they receive a 2nd token for the Ion Effect to happen.

Now, when I say "New" as in a couple of months into the game, not like say my X-Wing where I have been playing for several years.
Anyway, my first Store Championship is this Saturday and I am considering a list or two to take. Any thoughts from experienced players would be appreciated.
LIST 1
Commander: General Dodonna
Objectives:
Precision Strike
Hyperspace Assault
Superior Positions
Assault Frigate Mark IIB (72)
XX-9 Turbolasers (5)
Assault Frigate Mark IIB (72)
XX-9 Turbolasers (5)
CR90 Corvette B(39)
Dodonna's Pride(6)
MC30C Scout Frigate (69)
Assault Proton Torpedoes(5)
4x X-Wing (52)
4x Y-Wing (40)
385/400
This list is very simple, use Dodonna to maximize the Critical effect. Each ship has options to increase the number of faceup damage cards.
List 2 - Red Pain Train
Commander: Admiral Ackbar
Objectives:
Opening Salvo
Hyperspace Assault
Minefields
Assault Frigate Mark IIB (72)
Slaved Turrets (6)
Assault Frigate Mark IIB (72)
Slaved Turrets (6)
MC80 Assault Cruiser (114)
Enhanced Armament (10)
2x X Wing (26)
4x A Wing (44)
388/400
Standard Ackbar pain train conga line. Nothing fancy, just rely on all my red dice at long range to destroy my enemy.

Ok, when Asmodee stated that they were cutting online sales, people freaked. People are now saying that Asmodee is who is delaying Wave 8 (or at least partially responsible). Not getting into that.
My question is simply this, what is the relationship of FFG and Asmodee (and by extension Disney???)

Honestly, if you expect PS 8 (Omega Leader, PTL Corran/POE), PS 9 (Vader, Soontir, Whisper), well there is only one thing you can do! Go with a higher PS, or go with a PS 9 team with bid!

1. They are waiting for a simultaneous release world wide.
2. California is having dock worker strike issues again
3. They are waiting until after Store Championship season
4. FFG wants to torture you
CA has not had a dock worker strike in a very long time. Management has prevented dock workers from working, however. A lockout is when owners try to get workers to starve slowly by trying to get them to starve quickly. Management wins the fight when people yell at laborers to "get back to work"- which they can only do by accepting pay/conditions that are not great. Part of the way management can win is by outsiders confusing a "lockout" with a "strike". If one side is using confusion and obfuscation as a tactic, I'm going to be leaning to the other side, personally.
Yes, I am going to call out the use of the wrong term every time I see it. Sorry about that.

Good god man, take a joke! Other people understood what I was doing. If #4 didn't make it clear enough for you, next time I will make it even more obvious.

Its not that FFG encourages a better community, its that FFG doesn't award or reward a lot of money in this game. If you go and play Magic (or other TCG/CCG style games) there is a lot of money at stake. Here, the only "Money" at stake is what people think of the prize support and what they can get for it on Ebay, if they decide to sell anything. When you are playing for Honor and not money, it breeds a better class of player.

We had a guy take 2nd in a store championship with a bossk/boba build. His opponent had 1 damage left, the Y-Wing did actually roll an evade.......
He used his high PS and engine upgrades to make sure that the enemies were in range 2 for tactician to great effect. And, having Boba shooting before Whisper and other high PS nasties, well, he wrecked face.

Yet another rules thread for Omega Leader, sorry about that, but I didn't see these mentioned in any other thread.
So one scenario, two questions. The situation is, Omega Leader has a lock on Wedge. Wedge is equipped with Crackshot, and is now firing at Omega Leader.
Q1: Can Wedge force Omega Leader to roll 1 less green die when defending?
Q2: Can Wedge use Crackshot against Omega Leader?
My own thoughts: yes on both accounts. Wedge's pilot ability reduces the number of dice rolled, but doesn't actually modify the dice when they are rolled.
As for Crackshot, looking at the Rules Reference book, it makes a clear distinction between "modifying" dice and "cancelling" dice, and Crackshot specifically Cancel's a die. Likewise I would suspect that Omega Leader doesn't affect other "cancel" type cards, such as ion cannon, accuracy corrector, or Wampa.
That's what I think anyway, anyone care to confirm or disprove me?
The defination of modifying dice is (paraphrasing here) "Adding, changing, or re-rolling AFTER dice have been initially rolled" So, things that happen before the dice initially roll, or during the "Compare Dice" step (Crackshot) still work vs Omega Leader.
Yes, Wedge's ability works, so does stuff like Miranda. There are even unique situations that make you go "Huh?" like the fact that crits don't become hits with HLC. Also, there are edge cases where Palpatine can affect third ship's dice.

Guys, back to the original subject as to when Dengar's ability procs, there is some precedent for his ability working even if he has been destroyed. Look at "Fel's Wrath" in the FAQ. If Corran Horn kills him in the end phase he stays around an entire round and get a another move/attack before finally being removed from play.
As to the SAR, there are two cases:
1. Dengar shoots first
2. Dengar shoots second
In either case, he should have his actual shot (normal attack) and then his ability attack. I mean, look, RAW is kind of messy here, but there is no way they won't say: "Ok, Dengar died, he can EITHER do his regular attack for SAR or get his reaction shot from his ability, but not both. I mean, FFG has made some dumb rulings in the past, but Dengar should have both his reaction shot per his ability, and his normal attack per SAR.
-
The most current ruling is yes.
However, just to be clear, it was originally ruled that the Emperor could NOT do so, but has since been changed as the link above shows.
Vorpal Sword reacted to this -
Imperials have the ability to deny things to the enemy. Omega Leader says you can't modify your dice, Carnor says you can't spend or gain your focus/evades at range 1 of him. Zertic says you can't get your range 1 attack bonus. Dark Curse says you can't spend stuff against him.
-
I think the OP is planning on making the first TLT shot normally and then intentionally whiffing on the second. My only question is how likely do you think you are to get more than one damage through with the two dice shot that Gunner gives you? It's probably better to just attack normally, or maybe even spend a shield to make the second TLT attack at 4 dice.
I think I know where he was going, maybe hopefully getting tactician to proc, but you can't have gunner and tactician on the K wing.
-
I don't see why not. I mean, you can spend a Stress token on Keyan and change nothing, so as long as you know you won't go over your max shields, ok. My question is why would you want to do this? If you miss, Gunner/Luke kicks in, but you are limited to attacking only 1 more time, the "Perform this attack twice" no longer applies, per the FAQ.
-
All of those I can easily see. However, one thing you have to think about is that FFG likes to share and reuse artwork for its various products. So, you can see Whisper's artwork in Age of Rebellion, and so on. What I see being done is stuff they already have artwork for. For example, a scum bomber. (Nym's ship). There are still many _-wings out there, like the T Wing, H wing. And, don't forget scum epic ship with fix for Syck.

Is payback because of the ship, or a reference to all the threads about the lack of a preview??
Its his nickname in the Expanded Universe.

The ultimate troll would now be if they didn't preview the Punishing One tonight

There will not be a preview tonight.
Either that, or some seriously bad news........ Like Wave 8 delayed.

My 1st store championship win.

So you colluded with your opponent and fixed the final game by not playing it. Personally, you and your opponent should lose the bye and it be awarded to third place.
