Luke Skywalker
- Expertise (4)
- R2-D2 (4)
- Vectored Thrusters (2)
-
Jake Farrell
- Test Pilot (0)
- Chardaan Refit (-2)
- Veteran Instincts (1)
- Push the Limit (3)
- Autothrusters (2)
-
Heff Tobber
- Fire-Control System (2)
- Rey
- Jyn Erso
- Pivot Wing
I'm pretty sure that's how it looked. Heff was an annoying Focus factory for Jake most of the game and was a great blocker. Jake nibbled away like he does. It was a pain to lose, but a really fun list to play against.
Hahaha! I think I was your opponent! If you were playing in South Dakota! I had Engine upgrade on Heff Tober as well, and it wasn't a high performing list, but boy was it fun!
If only Luke could have survived...

I know the U-wing gets a lot of Flak, but hear me out:
Jake Farrell — A-Wing 24
Veteran Instincts 1
Chardaan Refit -2
Intensity 2
Autothrusters 2
A-Wing Test Pilot 0
Ship Total: 27
Heff Tobber — U-Wing 24
Fire-Control System 2
Jyn Erso 2
Rey 2
Engine Upgrade 4
Pivot Wing 0
Ship Total: 34
Luke Skywalker — X-Wing 28
Expertise 4
R2-D2 4
Vectored Thrusters 2
Ship Total: 38
Stack focus with Rey, then on the initial approach, use Jyn to give Jake a focus (or two!), Boost or BR (one or both), grab another focus or evade, (whatever you need), Manuever, then take a TL or Evade (or Focus and Boost/BR) you should end up (hopefully) at R1 with two focus and a TL or Evade
Use Rey to get a focus for the U-Wing, EU to supplement the lack of KTurn (2 turn + Boost, no need to reduce your agi)
Use Luke to slow Crawl at R3 (keeping distance with VT) and if you can keep your distance, TL for fully modded shots. R2-D2 to heal. Luke never needs to focus.

That's the first thing I noticed when I read the article

I wonder if it would work to have a rule like this:
"During the Ship Phase, if the other player has more ships than you and at least 2 ships left to activate, you may choose to pass your activation, if you do, you must activate a ship, if able, at your next opportunity."
This would give a slight advantage to whoever has fewer ships, especially in later turns if one player manages to destroy several of their opponent's ships, giving them an opportunity to come back after losing say an important ship.

I think this will have to do until we perfect the lightsaber technology

I think a sublte way to boost the classic T-65 in general might be a modification which says "X-wing only. Action: You may perform a free Boost or Barrel roll" and cost it at 2-3 points.
This way, there is the IA modification for lower PS pilots that need more durability as jousters (generics, Tarn, Hobbie, Biggs, and Garven), and a manouverability modification for the higher PS pilots (Jek, Luke, Wes and Wedge).
Because the wording is similar to the IA mod, it could also be used on the T-70's but would be somewhat redundant.

I love Luke Skywalker and I want to see him in more lists, but I also really want to see some of the other less used X-wing pilots make it to competitive lists as well.
It seems like Biggs and Wedge are always in the limelight as far as X-wing lists go. I really want to see some sweet lists with Hobbie Kilvian, Garven Dreis, Wes Janson or even Jek Porkins.
Wes Janson could use like a 3-4 point astromech that reads: "whenever an enemy ship removes a focus or evade token, if they are in your firing arc, you may assign that token to your ship"
I've heard it suggested before, but it would be cool to have and astromech upgrade for R5-56 or R5-D8. (the ones that have to roll a green die to have an effect) Somthing that allows them to reroll the die if it fails Then Jek Porkins and Dutch Vander can have their respective astromechs

For Hobbie, I think it would be cool to have an astromech that says "Whenever you remove a stress token, you may perform a free boost or barrel roll." Similar to BB-8, but based on removing stress.
I imagine some fun shenanigans with Dutch Vander where Hobbie is able to dance around the battlefield.
What are some cool lists that use either Jek, Wes, Garven or Hobbie? Besides the ones that Biggs and Wedge. Is there any synergy with Luke Skywalker that can be incorporated?

So... he's like, a turreted version of Corran Horn, if I am understanding his ability right. But double taps when the enemy is in arc and shoots at him.
That's pretty insane.

I suppose it depends. If I'm jumping in a fighter cockpit, it would have to be the T-65 X-Wing. If I'm commanding a larger cruiser, it would have to be an MC80 Mon Calamari Cruiser.
Cuz I mean, who wouldn't want to fly around in this beasty?
Unless you happen to be attacking the second death star...

Let me just say: I love the T-65. I think it's the coolest looking ship ever (and by extension, the coolest ship ever). It's why I got into X-Wing.
I'm gonna guess that this means they're gonna spoil some awesome T-65 fix that's gonna snap it back into competitive play
I think it will either it will be released with the new core set, or some new expansion pack with the T-65 fix
Regardless, I am SUPER excited for it.

I consider myself a die hard rebel fan. I dabble in imperial sometimes, but only to just get the feel for it, and even then, it's usually a TIE swarm.
-
I think a better language for the R3 is "If an attack requires you to spend a target lock, you may reroll any number of attack dice during that attack."
This requires you to spend the target lock, but you still get rerolls. Otherwise you could roll really well for a torpedo attack and keep your target lock for another attack.
-
Maybe I just can't find the page, but have you run any numbers for autothrusters? It seems like they are really good, but how do their numbers affect ships that can use them?
-
I think this has been done before, but what are some silly combos you've come up with or seen? Not necessarily ones that are effective/competitive, but the kind that make you laugh your head off when you pull them off.
Or perhaps builds that are just really good for trolling people.
Idk, what do you think?

So, I really like the idea of spamming Prototype Pilots, but Blues are good really for jousting and such. I can't decide which are better, and both are about equal points
So,
3x Prototype Pilots w/ Chardaan Refit (45)
or
2x Blue Squadron Plots (44)

Chain Damage in 2.0
in X-Wing
Posted
So, something I noticed about the 2.0 damage deck. If your ship has a Hull Breach, which says "Before you would suffer 1 or more [hit] damage, suffer that much [crit] damage instead." Then say your ship gets another hit, and the Hull Breach converts it to a crit, and it turns out to be a Direct Hit. Now with the new Direct Hit damage card, it says "Suffer 1 [hit] damage. Then repair this card."
I'm pretty sure then that Hull Breach would convert the additional hit from Direct hit to another crit, which then might turn out to be, another direct hit, and another, and another.
It seems highly unlikely, but I can imagine some poor Y Wing lighting up like a roman candle.
