  1. I want to get sleeves for both the ship cards and the upgrade cards, but I am having trouble figuring out which ones I should buy.  There are Standard, Standard American, Mini, Mini American....

Which ones are the best fits for the X-wing cards?

    Thanks

  2. Tarn Mison & R7 Astromech.

I agree, Tarn with R7 is soo dangerous in endgame, it makes him very hard to kill.  If you run him along side wedge you know wedge is the priority target so tarn will survive for the end.  Of  course I have had people who were on the bad side of a one on one with Tarn take him as the priority target over wedge, which is just as good, as wedge kills everything.  It leaves your opponent a tough choice as to which x-wing to kill first.

  3. I never concede a game, that rules out the possibility of an epic comeback. Even if im outclasses by a better opponent and defeat seems inevitable, there is still loads to learn from such games.

Of course even games I lose horribly are still a blast for me. Some of my best games are watching my ties carom off asteroids, but I learned a lot about piloting from those games.

  4. I don't know exactly why, but I have a soft spot for the tie advanced. I really, really want to run it, but just can't quite seem to make it competative.

I've been playing with ideas to make it better and I like a lot of the ideas that have been floated around for it. System upgrade slot, point reduction being my favorites, but today I hit upon a very simple option to make them much better.

Use the TIE fighter dial for the advanced. One extra k-turn at 3, and 1 speed turns. The sharp turns alone make the advanced much better. I noticed this because I grabbed the wrong dial for my advanced. After that I began to notice how many times that 1 turn wpuld have made a huge difference.

Price reduction alone only helps so much, but the extra maneuverability provided by 1 turns would i think make the advanced viable.

Im planning on playtesting the advanced with the tie dial and a 2pt price recuction to see how they fly.

  5. I liked Morgan's strategy at this point. Distance yourself from han and try to pick off talas. He just had a horrific roll on 5 greens vs 3 hits. That pretty much sealed it.

I was intrigued woth the possibility of trying to run han off the board with some fancy blocking, but that would have required a pretty big mistake on behalf of the defending world champ.

  6. They could institue a rule such as "If you reveal a maneuver that would result in you ship bumping and not moving, then the opponent gets to choose your maneuver for you." Since space ships (other than shuttle) are not intened to be stationary.

This rule could make blocking much more interesting as a tactic also. Block your opponents movement and get to choose his maneuver for him. Of course that might make blocking too good, so the rule could only apply to hitting you own ships and getting null movement.

  7. Hey, I am from Troy and have been looking for an X-wing gaming group. If you guys are gonna be at visions sunday i'll be there for sure. I had asked a few months ago if they had any star wars players but there wasn't a group yet, so im definately looking forward to getting some games in.
