  1. Why would you run Determination on Chewie when for the most part he ignores crits? Am I missing something?
  2. In my league this week I am pretty sure I will be facing a couple of Phantom squads. My plan was to bring Corran with VI, FCS and R2D2 as my Phantom killer. That leaves 58 points. I was going to bring the standard 58 point Super Dash but was wondering if Fat Han with 58 points would be better. Most of the builds I come up with for him at 58 points are pretty tanky.
  3. Recon spec without Jan Ors is wasted on a ship with one green die. It will proc one out of eight rolls when defending.
  4. Sounds like a impractical solution for a non existent problem.

    Player collusion?

For clarification this was a father and son who were both 3-0 after 3 Swiss rounds. They met in the 4th of 5 rounds and decided to split points ensuring that they would both be in the top 4 after the 4th round, most likely giving one of them or both a shot at winning. The TO seemed to feel that it was shenanigans but not strongly enough to DQ them or take other action. Thankfully neither player won the tournament.

    Player collusion?

Different tournament. There were no post Swiss rounds in this tournament. I can't speak to the players motives beyond them wanting to be assured to be in the top four. That's how it was explained to me anyway.

    Player collusion?

At a recent store championship two players agreed to a draw to split points and make sure each of them made it into the top four. I heard a bit of grumbling about it so looked up the tournament rules. They state that player collusion to manipulate results is expressly forbidden. This seems to fall under that but I am not sure as I have never heard of a draw in Xwing so don't know whether they are legal or not.
  8. It's riskier but you could replace Biggs with Wes. That way you are guaranteed to have a token less target. It's tough to rely on a HWK to strip focus/evade every time.
  9. Please advise me if you think this list is viable. I am concerned it does not have enough punch. Chewbacca Predator C-3PO Lando PTL MF Title Nien Numb Kyle Katarn The idea is that if they can stay close enough, Chewbacca could get two actions per turn(one from Lando) and Lando could get 3 on occasion, PTL and Kyle Katarn.
  10. Unions time has come and gone. They were created before Federal law addressed serious issues with child labor, working conditions, wages et al. I grew up in Detroit and can't tell you how many stories I have heard of friends starting work in the auto industry and being admonished to slow down, that they were working too fast. "What, don't like my 2 hour bathroom break? Talk to my union rep."
  11. Did not read everything but I would allow ships of the same PS as a Phantom who do not have initiative, to have a simultaneous attack that goes off before the cloak action takes place.
  12. YMMV but I tried to purchase X-Wing items in store with the kids club coupon and the computer at the register would not accept it.
  13. The X-Wing stuff isn't considered "toys" so you can't use the Kids Club coupons.
  14. I would consider dropping down to gold squad on the y wings. PS 4 isn't doing a lot unless you anticipate seeing Predator. Even without draw their fire, chewie will outlast the y wings. I've run a similar list with a PTL Chewie with Roark with ion cannon and a stress bot / ion cannon y wing. It was a lot of fun and worked very well.
  15. On list one, I don't find recon spec that useful on a single green dice ship. I like the blues with adv sensors but I'd look at Chewie with something like PTL, MF Title, Kyle Katarn and Nien Numb.
  16. I seem to recall reading that probability wise TL and focus will provide the same number of expected hits. The TL will give you more crits but the focus can be used for defense if you dont need it for offense.
  17. I don't like this attitude that Fly Casual is at odds with competitive play. Personally I would not bother playing a game where I did not care who wins.

    Metal Bikini?

Anyone know what happened to this site? It hasnt been updated in quite some time.
  19. I would be worried about Keyan getting focused down too fast. He is obviously the real threat of your list.
  20. Very reminiscent of Eddie Van Halen's Frankenstrat guitar.
  21. Okay, let's start. First, you have that model on at least 2 pegs. That means it won't work for anyone with fewer pegs. Second, you will have to constantly touch the model to clip tokens to it, which increases the chance of you moving the model. Third, it looks way, way, way more difficult to maintain those token clips than it does to simply pay attention when playing the game (moving the model, move the tokens). Most importantly, if you have problems keeping track of tokens, practicing that in games is probably the best way to improve that skill. One major aspect of the game is knowing (or figuring out how to know) the game's state. To figure out a game's state where my opponent clips crap to his ships, I have to get in closer to figure out which token is attached because it's not easily visible. Try running a TIE swarm doing this. Then tell me you still think it's a good idea. Much like the double-decker couch, this idea might seem good to the creator, but it is wrought with problems that have no easy answer. Couldn't agree more. The less you have to touch a model the better. my biggest complaint is the aesthetic. It looks like a flying garage sale.
  22. Great idea but I feel the benefit gained does not outweigh how ugly they are.
  23. Perceived oddness in dice outcomes is just simple randomness. There is no such thing as luck. The dice may seem hot or cold but it is just patterns in random events that are retroactively seen as "lucky". It is hard for me to fathom someone arguing that some people are luckier than others. There have been studies done that show that the brain remembers losing random chance events much more than winning, thereby enforcing some folks belief that they are unlucky. As someone said, play enough games and the dice even out, for everyone.
  24. I calls BS. A million monkeys rolling for a million years couldn't pull that off.
