My god, he had the audacity to use a chair rather than stand "like everyone does always". Conform or perish!
Seriously though, everyone runs into this type of behavior now and then. If you don't like it call the guy on it right then or let it go. You lets some rules slide and you are hurt when he wont reciprocate. He doesn't wash his dice...I think this post says as much about you as it does your opponent.DanDoulogos reacted to this -
Own but never played:
Rebel Transport and CR 90
Tie Bomber
Tie Defender
M3-A
Starviper
IG 2000
And I play a lot, lol. I just get stuck on lists I like, sacrificing variety.

You can make the argument of using TC vs hull vs stealth and have good points for each. To say you prefer TC to auto thrusters is just being contrary for the point of being contrary. If that's what you like to fly so be it, but you seem to suggest that TC is superior to auto thrusters which it isn't.I don't think he's broken just because of Autothrusters. There was a point in this game when you would be a laughing stock for sinking so many points into an Interceptor.
Besides, I prefer him with TC over AT.
I think it being superior or not is actually up for debate. If the meta had no turrets, for example,....
Well the meta DOES have turrets, lots of them. I am not speculating about what would be a better choice if the meta were this or that. Given the current meta auto thrusters is the best choice.
I agree though that AT, hull/stealth Fel can be kind of meh in damage. I won a store championship and another 40 player tournament running AT, TC.

Wow, that alt art a Dash Rendar is comically bad. With all of the art resources FFG has I can't believe they felt this was acceptable
I agree the new rec spec is pretty sweet.

I have found both iterations of their website counter intuitive. That said I lke the old one better.

The guys at a Total Escape a Games did a great job with this tournament. After filling up at 64 players they sought out additional space to expand the tournament. They also included their own prizes. With the exception of the FFG software everything was run very well. I am disappointed that FFG would release software that had obviously not been tested. The morning of regionals is not the time a TO wants to see their program crap the bed.
Unfortunately with the delayed start I was only able to play 3 rounds before I had to leave for my sons playoff game. I knew going in I would not be able to complete the Swiss rounds but was hoping I could get in 4 or 5. It was fun to take part in regionals anyway.
I left disappointed in my performance. I went 2-1 playing RAC/Fel. I beat a Chewie/Dash and Chewie/generic 2400 but lost to twin fire sprays. I forgot that my opponent had engine and he set up a nice block causing a bump with Soontir. He went down in a single round of fire.
Congrats to the winner. He and I played a very close game which he won at a SC a few months ago. It was great to see all of the out of state players come in but was glad a local Denver player took home the top prize.

There is no counter. Submit and move on.

That sketch looks a lot more like this.

Want to claim the Lancaster Bomber was designed by an American schoolchild?
What? The Lannisters have their own Air Force now? The dragons had best watch out.

The amount of sloppiness by the XXB player is painful. Not steadying the template, bumping the template everywhere, pushing the ship back past where it should have been, and picking up the ship and placing it forward without using a template on a straight bump -- at the top tables, you shouldn't be seeing stuff like this.
I agree. Maybe locally they don't sweat precise movement.

Ackk...please please reverse the order and put new on top. It takes 10 "add more" clicks on an ipad to get to the new videos and this will just grow with more videos. If your finger grazes a video it loads and you have to start all over. Doesn't it really make sense to switch it?.....

IG-A is great versus a swarm but I think will be sub optimal at best versus the large amount of 2 ship builds you're likely to see in tournament play.
-
IMO ion cannon is wasted on a shuttle. You are going to want to shoot at whoever you can get in arc which may or may not be a good target for an ion. Your squints don't need to rely on an ion to get their targets.
To maximize damage when the shuttle does have a target, I would swap both stealth devices on the Interceptors for Targeting Comp, lose the on cannon and grab gunner. Works well with FCS.

Great tournament, great atmosphere at the Wings Over the Rockies Museum. I enjoyed watching the Star Wars ships act as a tractor beam to wide eyed kids all day.
Good diversity of lists although fat turrets continued to be powerful. Top 5 I believe was:
1-RAC/Fel
2-Tie Swarm
3-RAC/Fel
4-Chewie/Dash
5-mixed rebels

You seem to have taken a lot of delight in "slaughtering" your friend. Enough so that you felt the need to brag about it here. Small wonder he declined another game.
-
I think it is very hard to say which build is best as it is entirely dependent on what you are flying against. I think the answer lies in what you think you are most likely to encounter given your local meta.
-
Even if you lift a list card-for-card off the net it isn't going to hand you a regional win. There's nothing wrong with it.
I don't think there is anything wrong with it, and I begrudge no one who goes that route. It's not easy to win a major event, no matter the list, and there's something to be said for running a list that has a target on its back.
It's just something I have zero desire to do, mostly for stupid egotistical reasons.
Everyone who plays Xwing a fair bit runs into players with this mentality. Not saying it is true with this poster as I obviously have never met him, but in my experience in playing against these types, they want to prove they are better/smarter than you by beating you with their own list. They are quick to write off their loss with "yeah, if I wanted to fly XYZ I could win all the time too"

Engine Upgrade goes a long way to keeping it in the fight after the initial pass, but then again I hate to put extra points on a suicide ship (doom shuttle).
-
In the few games I have played against BTL/A4 Y-Wings, they seem very easy to arc dodge. Then again I have been flying a lot of Interceptors lately..
-
I'm skeptical about Accuracy Corrector on a 3 attack dice ship. I like FCS better at one less point or Adv Sens at an equivalent 3 points.

5) but I think the biggest factor is that: if this was so fundamentally broken, as the need for this rule suggests it is, then why has it taken so long for something to be done about it? Instead, we have all had to learn and start playing it one way, and now we all have to learn a new way, which will only lead to confusion. It's like some drunk at the wheel that has let the car drift too far one way, and now they have tried to correct it, but instead, over-steared back the other way, with obvious consequences.
Because maybe FFG thought such an important change needed to be thoroughly play-tested before rushing it out, so that they didn't do what you described and make a knee-jerk reaction?
I would have preferred they did their extensive playtesting prior to release of the Phantom.

Thanks for the list. Have you considered sorting the list as newest first rather than oldest? Would save a lot of scrolling on an iPad.

Biggs doesn't really work with this list. Corran will be disengaging/engaging to regain shields and having Biggs following him around at range 1 doesn't make much sense. I think using Biggs to protect Z95s is pretty pointless too. It's a bit heavy on the upgrades. It's usually better to have more ships than upgrades. I might adjust it as such:
Corran Horn. 35 (46 pts)
VI. 1
FCS. 2
R2D2 4
Shield 4
Biggs 25 (28 pts)
Hull 3
Tala Squadron (13)
Tala Squadron (13)
100 total
I trimmed out some of the fat to squeeze in an extra Z. R2-F2 and Stealth have been replaced with Hull on Biggs. It's cheaper and more reliable (those green dice are fickle) and it doesn't rely on using an action. I like the Shield Upgrade on Corran a bit more over Engine Upgrade in this squadron, especially since you're using R2-D2. He won't need the Engine Upgrade as much while he's flying with Biggs anyway, although the Engine is certainly not a bad choice on Corran.
Biggs is used best flying in formation with higher value ships you don't want to lose right away. Corran isn't a formatin flyer.

Husbands vs. Wives 50 Point Round Robin Tournament

I suggest you switch to husband/wife teams. Guys play guys, girls play girls. I don't see a good outcome of guys who play all the time beating up on the their buddies spouses who never or seldom play.
