They have gone dark again. No cast since April. Too bad I really enjoy them.

Strange format. I would prefer to see the movement and dice rolls rather than a description of what happened off camera. Maybe just set up a tripod.

I didn't read the entire thread so sorry if this point has been brought up. The affect of RC is not to "become stressed" but to receive a stress token. With no stress token the ship is not stressed so revealing a red maneuver is not a problem. The ship must have a stress token to be considered stressed. If that is missed, oh well.

I think you are trying too hard to make Brobots a 3 ship list. Sure you get an extra filler ship that might do some blocking but you are gimping the core of your list to do so.
In general if there is an EPT slot you are paying for it already. To leave it blank isn't usually the best idea.

Seems like missing an ept an sub optimal cannons is a lot to give up for a Z95.

Kath/Bobba is strong.

Agree with other posts. EU and navigator are so you can adjust your movement to ships that move before you. There are not enough PS 1-2 ships in the meta to make this combo worth 7 points. Agree that Rec Spec is worthless on a zero agility ship. As mentioned Vader/Rebel Captive is a good combo and gunner on both would work too. For instance:
Patrol Leader — VT-49 Decimator 40 Gunner 5 Rebel Captive 3 Moff Jerjerrod 2 Ship Total: 50 Patrol Leader — VT-49 Decimator 40 Gunner 5 Darth Vader 3 Mercenary Copilot 2 Ship Total: 50 -
Save the attitude man. This thread is years old. No one is going to read the whole thing and parse out your replies from whenever.dont bother trying to build a counter to the tie swarm in competitive play. They are not played enough to bother. Just have some idea of what tactics you should use with your list should you run into one.
When did I mention competitive play? I explicitly stated it's what my only other player here uses.
And exactly where did you explicitly state "blah blah blah"? I don't see it in this thread.

Boise regional had 43 players. Soontir/ RAC won the regional. Despite a pretty well known top list winning it all, top 8 was pretty diverse. A Vrill, Biggs, and Jan Ors were all in top 8 lists. The tournament was pretty poorly run (in my opinion), and they had the players in a room with no air conditioning, and the TO would go play a game (marvel dice?) with another person from the store during rounds, wait until every game had turned in their results, THEN go put the numbers in the computer. It left a lot of dead time between rounds while we waited for him to get the numbers in, and it is not fun to sit in a hot stuffy room longer then necessary. There were also a couple of occasions where a player or two would find an issue about the scoring when the rankings were posted, and the TO would then go back to look at the numbers again, then come back again after another 10 minutes or so with adjusted rankings. He originally did not give the correct points for the super-byes from store championships, so that was caught early and I believe he changed it correctly.
Also, rounds were 65 minutes, although a buddy of mine was told they would do 75 minute rounds over the phone when signing up for the tournament (but, with the venue having no air conditioning, that was probably fine for most every one in the long run).
All in all, it was a good day of xwing and despite the heat, most every one was in a very good mood and enjoyed themselves from what I could see.
I would email FFG about the poorly run tournament. A store that is not committed to running a quality event should not be hosting a regional.

Hey we're you guys able to fix your audio on the podcast? The content was good but poor sound quality.

I think you will hear valid arguments for both sides. Just do what feels righ to you.

I disagree entirely. If you have the points and no way to give recieve free focus, R2D2 is way better than R5P9.
R2D2 only lets you regenerate while performing a green maneuver.
R5-P9 lets you regenerate while performing any non-red.
R5-P9 also gives you an additional chance to spend your Focus, making it better when you've already boosted your offense and defense.
Sadly, R5-P9 spends the focus before Corran's spare attack, but its your decision.
Having trouble spending focus tokens is not a problem most of the time they are spent attacking or defending. Your argument that R2D2 locks you into green maneuvers is countered that R5P9 locks you into focus actions where it might be better to barrel roll, evade or even boost. If R5P9 were the better option I think you would seem them in competitive play. Almost every Corran making the cut at regionals is using R2D2.

I feel that dual falcons do ok and fat falcons with escort(s) are very powerful but middle of the road falcons with escorts is kind of weak. Chewie is great at soaking damage but without 3PO and MF title he can go down very quick. Yes you have Lando but he can desert you when you need him. If you go with 2 naked blues that gives you a 56 point Chewie that could look something like LW, MF, 3PO, R2D2, EU or however you want to configure him.

If you have the points and no way to give recieve free focus, R2D2 is way better than R5P9. I agree look at engine over shield. In the two ship meta, Predator is kind of pointless with FCS as you will mostly be on the same target rather than switching back and forth. Consider Lone Wold or VI on Corran, which may give you the points to upgrade your YT to Dash.

Congrats on doing so well. Be prepared for when your son starts whooping you.

Nice job. You guys had clear commentary for a live match which helps. Sound quality was good as well for an open mic, except that beep beep beep, lol
Also liked the drive by commentary at 26:30.
