  1. Saying it shouldn't be allowed because some lists won't benefit as much is the same as saying that Autothrusters shouldn't be allowed because now turrets won't fly with impunity. A 10-15 point side board would encourage more variety in our lists, not less. I thoughtthat's what everyone wanted. Or was it that you wanted more of YOUR type of list and LESS of the ones that fly well against them?

  2. So...is everyone pretty much thinking the Lightning Reflexes belongs most on our Dark Lord of the Emo? I know it's just a one shot and it brings the stress, but man...that could really ruin someone's day if you arc dodge them then flip it so you're firing at R1.

    Am i missing sumfin'?

  3. BIG BALLS

Vader, Lightning Reflexes, Title, ATC, EU - 35

Juno, PTL, EU, Title, ATC - 36

Maarek, Calc, Title, ATC - 29

    Total - 100 SP

Because you have to have them to run a 3 ship list, but if you do...well, then...we've got the biggest...balls of them all!

I don't know what you're talking about. That song is about dancing.

Well, yeah. Taking only three ships is a stressful proposition. I was just saying you have to have a nice relaxing Gala the night before to mentally and physically prepare yourself. THEN, if you manage to pull off the victory, well then one would be inclined to hold giant balls, multiples of them, to celebrate.

    What were YOU thinking about?

You must play swarms a lot, most lists in the meta currently use 2 ships, which is often less than 3!

Yes, but 2 ship lists are a thing. Name another 3 ship list that might be a thing. Triple Squints? Maybe, but that's squishy as all get out. Big Balls might be too, but they might survive to be shot at twice.

  5. I never said they weren't A-Wings. I said they weren't OUR A-Wings. Also, there were at least 4 ships called "A-Wings", the R22 (BBY), the RZ-1 (ABY), the Aurek starfighter (Galactic Republic Era) and the ETA-5 (Galactic Alliance/Second Galactic Civil War Era)

(My internet nerd-peen feels so huge right now)

  6. Concept Art for the episode lists them as A-Wings.

Right...because as I mentioned, the fighter jockeys nicknamed the R-22 the A-Wing. Dodonna honored this by making that the official nomenclature for his RZ-1

  7. I'm sorry guys, but even the paint scheme agrees, those are A-Wings. Just the same as in the previews for the season they showed us B-Wings.

The changes between the R-22 and the RZ-1 (The A-Wings in our boxes) did very little to changethe profile of the ship. A more powerful engine, better integration of the astromech units and more robust shielding all fit into the same shell. The big visible difference were the new blasters. They were more powerfull and had nearly 180 degree verticle planr firing arc. (The RZ-1 can fire at ships that are almost directly above or below the in relative space.

So, yeah they look pretty much the same. Oh, and before you call me out for being a lore *****...the creators wanted to give a reaSon why the ships that McQuarrie painted and the ones that made it to screen and comics were slightly different. They didn't NEED to do that...maybe they're lore whores too.

  8. Now, I'm not up with all the Rebels stuff, but I thought the A Wing was designed and built after Yavin? And that Rebels takes place before Yavin? So how is there A Wings in Rebels?

They aren't A-Wings. At least not OUR A-wings. Pheonix Squadron were flying R-22 Spearheads...the ship the A-Wing Interceptors were based on. The confussion is because the flyboys called the R-22s "A-Wings", so Dodonna used the nickname for the new craft.

  9. Why not just make ordnance more attractive? How about this?

    FAQ rule change:

When attacking with either missles or torpedoes if, after both attack and defense dice are rolled and modified, there is at least one uncanceled hit or crit then cancel all defense dice and deal all hits and crits remaining.

  10. Modification

    Comunications Array - 1SP

At the beginning of combat you may gain a TL on any enemy ship that is TL'd by another friendly ship with Communications Array. You may only have one TL at a time.

Give it to a squad of Punishers and let the Missles and Torps fly.

  11. No, I get it. They would make it better, but the point of a fix is to make them competitive. The TIE/Ad fix makes all of them competitive. The named pilots will be monsters, and the generics will be great tanky fillers.

This doesn't make me confident in the X or E wing. It's feels like throwing bad money after good. I love these ships, I want to fly them and fly against them more. I'm just not seeing this doing that for them like the TIE/Ad fix will for that ship.

  12. Thematically, the "non-unique" could work if you are implying that the generic droids are "wiped" and configured to the ship each mission. You would never wipe a unique astro as they've proven that their individual personality configuration is a bigger boon than that perfect configuration.

That being said, this doesn't really help much. The only consistently helpful generic astro is the R2, and even then you want to put that on a Y-Wing, not the X or E. I guess the other two would see more play if they were free, but the two most useful Astros on the X and especially the E are R2-D2 and R5-P9...the two most expensive Astros available (yeah, R5 is tied for 2nd with three others).

My point is while I see that maybe the generics would get more use, I don't see how this "fixes" the X and E Wings competitively. What am I missing?
