    Hi Andrew,

Would love to see more content for Imperial Assault, and I know a lot of other fans would, too.

I know that currently the official stance is that you're not currently working on it, but I urge you to reconsider. It's such a fantastic game, and this is set to be a big year for Star Wars- ride that wave with them!

That being said, since nothing officially is in the pipeline, I assume you could probably answer this:

Imperial Assault, what does the future look like for this game? I have to say I am very hesitant to buy into a future FFG product just given how poor the communication has been between developer and playerbase in regards to IA. I love the game, I love FFG, I understand all games must end, but it would just be nice to get some clarity. ESPECIALLY as this game is community dependent to keep the competitive skirmish game alive.
Thanks for all you do, appreciate the effort.

    Hi, Andrew Navaro,

Any chance you could revive Imperial Assault in 2020 for some awesome new waves?  I need more IA in my life!
Each and every box expansion has pushed the envelope for Imperial Assault beyond anything a poor consumer could have anticipated, and there is SO much more you could do with this game

An Imperial Assault 2.0 would also be cool. Thanks.

    Love,
    VE

I'm a big LOTR fan but I'm on the fence with this one. The lack of enemy variety and the just okay reviews are holding me back.
But I really like the card based gameplay and the roles you can select for each hero.

    Fantastic work!
Great brush work on the miniatures. I'm not very consistent and I go back and forth between using paint that isn't thinned enough and paint that is too watery. Do you use any mediums?
Clear bases are a must for IA. Though I'm surprised you didn't play around with different paint schemes. How do you distinguish between deployment groups?

Very similar to IA's app adventures. Main difference is all of a character's skills/abilities cards form into a deck- that is used to determine success odds instead of rolling a dice. (Success icons are in the top left corner and are "cashed in" to determine victory or defeat. (Think surges))
Skill checks, attacks, and different abilities all use the deck to determine success or failure (think the way you cycle through a deck in solitaire) you may not need a card now, but you will cycle back to it at some point to probably use it later.
    --------------------------------------------------
3 different potential odds on a card to determine success or failure:
Compass/star in top left corner = Success
Leaf in top left corner of card = can potentialy become a success if you have a buff called inspiration to cash in (think a focus in IA) otherwise it's a fail. You gain inspiration by completing objectives. Each individual character can hold a certain amount of Inspiration at a time.
Blank space in top left corner = fail.

You play the game using your warriors to move around a large country map; each space you can move to is like a state within a country. You can explore, do attribute tests (think terminals or doors in IA) and talk to random people aside from fighting LOTR enemies. The map changes if you enter a dungeon or fort. (think the difference from being inside a house or going outside in the world) You conduct combat and interactions as usual, but you tend to fight more enemies and a boss in these locations. Interactive buffs are littered around the battlemap such as bushes to hide in , boulders to hide behind, walls that block your path and etc.

See the Tyrants of Lothal rulebook.
Some abilities refer to an icon's type. H and B are attack icons. G, F, and E are defense icons.
You might notice that the number on the dice are not attack icons.

Sure, but I still have an issue with the phrasing. The Rulebook doesn't define what an"attack icon" is.
Unless this was clarified in an expansion.

Not that I ever fool myself into believing that Fantasy Flight actually reads these forums to get ideas but I thought it could be an interesting idea to see where everyone’s wishes the app will go in the future.  I don’t intend this to be predictions. My thoughts are below though the first few are things others have said.

    1.  More selective spawning of enemies. I don’t wanna have to worry about seeing Wampas in the desert or forest and I shouldn’t have to deselect an expansion to ensure that.
    2.  Specifically add an option to make it so certain characters don’t spawn without having to deselect there packs. IE Obi Wan, Inquistor, Greedo
    3. Future waves should include an app campaign/content at the time they are released. I would do this for both box and figure pack waves. How quickly would people run out and grab a whole figure pack wave if it allows them to play an app campaign? The waves typically have some kind of theme anyway. For example how great would a campaign set pre-rogue one based around Obi Wan, Greedo and the Inquisitior be?
    4. Release campaigns spanning more than one expansion box. This game has a vast library of tiles and figures. The app already taps into that library of figures. They should reward the people who have bought multiple expansions.
    5. Release campaigns where the big bad are characters we already have but weren’t the focus of their box. IE Boba Fett, Grand Inquisitor, Bossk
    6. More use of allies in campaigns, preferably through some type of side mission mechanic. Accompanying an alliance smuggler on a mission to steal supplies, rescuing enslaved Wookiee’s with Chewy, blowing something up with rebel sabs, etc...
    7. Incorporate a skirmish squad builder into the app. If xwing can have it, so can we.
    8. Add a reroll option for when random unique figures are spawning.

Did you mean 2x3 for Massive?
I may be off by a few, but I counted from my table 137 small, 5 1x2, 3 2x2, and 6 2x3 figures, one of each pack. Plus half of dewback trooper or half of Terro.
    Second count 141 small figures.
(Third count: small figures: 55 imperial, 42 mercenary, 44 Rebel = 141 total)

Bump. Cause I still really want this as an option!
    1) It would be nice to have an option that would allow you to select figures that have been painted and deselect figures that are not painted.
    2) One can deselect figures that aren't thematic or figures that they don't wanna fight in a campaign
    3) It's particularly annoying for me right now cause I want the Rebel players to have access to all the heroes and all the items but heroes are tied to boxsets which means Imperial figures are auto included in the campaign. Makes it hard for setup/transportation as well.

I’ve recently got the painting bug thanks to Sorastro (I’m pretty sure 90% of the threads in the painting forum start with this line, heh).
One thing I’m having difficulty pulling the trigger on is the idea of putting all the minis on clear bases.
    1) First concern is picking the bases. The two most popular ones I’ve heard of is Litko and Applied perspective.
    http://www.litko.net/products.php?product=SW%3A-Assault%2C-Clear-Base-Upgrade-Set-(36)#.WaOFStPysU0
    http://www.appliedperspective.com/acrylic/product/imperial-assault-clear-base-pack/
Any recommendations between the two? Are there cheaper alternatives out there that work just as good?
    2) Any tips when it comes to cutting minis off their original bases? Is filing required? What about more difficult minis like the massive figures/E-webb?
    3) I’ve read a few posts mention that certain types of glue can “fog” up the base. What's the right type of glue? Will glue suffice or is it recommended to pin models?

Legion has dropped and IA remains nowhere to be seen.
After all this waiting, waiting and waiting , they must come up with something BIG in this 2018!
As I'm primarily  a campaign player, I' love to see an Imperial campaign. The opportunity to play with 5-6 new "heroes" from the Empire. A big core box if necessary. A starting setting in Endor, outnumbered by rebel scum, similar to what Battlefront 2 did brilliantly (the beginning at least  ). In this way, the  Rebel players could have the coveted ewok minis, and Imperial players could kill them all. Everyone would be happy! Truly, that would be an Imperial Assault.
They could also make a big box merc-based campaign, with 5-6 new bounty-hunters, criminals, exiles, etc. working for big Poppa Jabba or another  famous kingpin, beating the dust of rebels and imperials alike, depending on who pays more, and the possibility of making moral choices of good  and evil at the end of a mission or during it, with consequences over the campaign of course.
With all the boxes and blisters that exist today in the market, they could easily do both.
Particularly, I do not like the trend of bringing characters from the cartoon series Rebels. I hope they stop it and focus on the movies. Might be that I'm becoming a grumpy old man, but  I certainly hope they stick to the original trilogy, rogue 1 and (hopefully) Solo if it is good. I do not want to see at the turning point of the campaign a space whale floating over my minis.

Ah, this kinda sucks. Might consider deselecting some of the expansions so this doesn't happen.
This was suggested elsewhere, but it would be nice to have an option to change the enemy spawn, so players can implement their own house rules for these kind of situations.
And it's kind of odd seeing villain groups randomly popping up. I always assumed there was a special "villain spawn" type of mechanic in place where villains would only appear when the specific event calls for one (The door opens to reveal the head of the operation: insert randomized villain).
Seriously, Jabba is raiding Yavin 4?
