  1. Fantastic work! 

    Great brush work on the miniatures. I'm not very consistent and I go back and forth between using paint that isn't thinned enough and paint that is too watery. Do you use any mediums?

    Clear bases are a must for IA. Though I'm surprised you didn't play around with different paint schemes. How do you distinguish between deployment groups?


  2. Hmm, a challenge mode that keeps score?

    Don't we already have that in the current version of app? 

    "Fame is a new concept in that determines the level of notoriety that the party has achieved. It is displayed to the right of the hero portraits on the log screen. It represents the players' score at the end of the campaign, so players can attempt to beat their high score the next time they play through the campaign."

    Are they referring to a horde mode type of gameplay? If so, that would be a great addition for gaming groups that don't want to get invested in a new campaign.


  3. This was the first wave where I avoided a lot of the blister expansions to go along with the boxset (had to pick up Thrawn!)

    It would be interesting to find out whether this Rebels themed expansion helped boost sales/brought people into the game but I'd be happy to move away from it.

    I'd love to see some Scout Troopers!

    Sure, but I still have an issue with the phrasing. The Rulebook doesn't define what an"attack icon" is.

    Unless this was clarified in an expansion.

  5. Does anyone have a current total figure count for all boxsets and expansions?

    From Core to Heart of the Empire.

    I’m asking for storage / commission painting purposes and I don’t have access to my collection.

    Total Small Figures=?

    Total Large Figures=?

    Total Massive Figures=?

    Any ballpark number would also be appreciated.

  6. Bump. Cause I still really want this as an option!

    1) It would be nice to have an option that would allow you to select figures that have been painted and deselect figures that are not painted. 

    2) One can deselect figures that aren't thematic or figures that they don't wanna fight in a campaign

    3) It's particularly annoying for me right now cause I want the Rebel players to have access to all the heroes and all the items but heroes are tied to boxsets which means Imperial figures are auto included in the campaign. Makes it hard for setup/transportation as well.

    Ah, this kinda sucks. Might consider deselecting some of the expansions so this doesn't happen.

    This was suggested elsewhere, but it would be nice to have an option to change the enemy spawn, so players can implement their own house rules for these kind of situations.

    And it's kind of odd seeing villain groups randomly popping up. I always assumed there was a special "villain spawn" type of mechanic in place where villains would only appear when the specific event calls for one (The door opens to reveal the head of the operation: insert randomized villain).

    Seriously, Jabba is raiding Yavin 4? :P

    Well, that was a surprise. I thought they were going to slowly release them over time, but... all of them? Wow!

    Has anyone seen any wampas or tusken raiders yet? I'm curious to find out if they dropped the habitat rule. 


  9. Considering starting the FotFF campaign with 3 heroes, but I'm a little confused in regards to the Heroic reward card (3 hero game).

    The reward card suggests players get to choose which Hero will claim the second activation for that round but in the app the extra activation is distributed randomly (or it simply goes down the list of hero portraits).

    Is there a way to change which hero gets the extra activation? I feel like a lot of strategy is lost if the app decides this for you. Might just stick with 4 heroes.

    You gotta remember that: 1) the ally mission has to be drawn 2) the heroes have to win mission. Plus, especially with the Hoth campaign, the rebel players will probably prioritize the threat missions over the ally missions. Honestly, I've never heard anyone complain about this class card.

     @a1bert is a strong supporter of this house rule. :P Perhaps he can chime in on this. My gaming group's Hoth campaign, which included MHD, was pretty close.

    There’s no hard and fast on rule of this. But context is important. For example, if it’s the last remaining healthy hero I’d let the AI figure take the shot even if the odds of landing the attack are slim.

    The concern regarding Imperial attacks and range has already been brought up:

    App rules question - "Attack" and accuracy

    The safest bet is to simply apply the spirit of the Imperial Rule in this situation: If the figure is so far away that the Imperial attacker needs a miraculous role to reach the specific target, simply follow target priority and move on to the next best target. If it's too close either way, simply flip a coin/roll a dice to make the decision for you.

    And yes, Target priority is a huge part of the game. Remember:

    1. Follow the instructions, attack the target indicated in the: << >>

    2. If the specified target cannot be attacked, move on to the next target that best satisfies the criteria

    3. If no other target/no criteria given, attack closest rebel figure

    Admittedly, the steam version of the app would usually freeze near the end of New Recruits Part 1 so I could only run through that pathway a couple times on the iPad. I must have missed it, because there is certainly a New Recruits Part 3!

    Usually at this point a terminal would drop down beside the door but I was surprised when this window popped up: 


    If you tell the app you've never played IA before, it seems to split the map into two separate tutorial missions (New Recruits Part 2 and New Recruits Part 3).

    I'll have to update my image later tonight.

  14. I think I loved this weird, wonderfully messy film.

    Definitely needs another viewing! Quick thoughts (that have probably been said already):

    • Ackbar should've replaced Holdo
    • I liked the Casino planet, but the Finn and Rose storyline should have been trimmed/edited out completely. It was oozing with Disney.
    • Royal. Guards. :wub:
    • A lot of the humour fell pretty flat, though I liked the "reach out" scene quite a bit
    • Every single story convention was flipped on its head. I love how Rey came from nowhere but definitely needed more Snoke, hoping he'll return
    • Something was off about the pace...Force Awakens was so exciting and brisk!
    • No hook for the third film
    • Everything with Luke was great
    • Very little world building/no lore to sink your teeth into


  15. Happy Holidays! Thought I’d post a little bit of an update:

    I decided to move away from E6000. No army is worth ones health and it was such a hassle to glue outside with a respirator on. The probe droids, the officers and the E-webb engineers were all glued to their bases using super glue. Follow these three tips for a cleaner look around the feet:

    1) Less is more! Never apply straight from the bottle. Squirt a small amount on a surface and use a toothpick/paperclip to apply the glue in thin layers.  

    2) Applying warm air to the area seems to help (I used a blowdryer)

    3) Even if white frost streaks or builds up around the feet, simply mix an equal amount of lahmian medium and ardcoat gloss varnish and apply a small amount to the area to help eliminate the frosting

    Overall, I'm very happy with the results.

    I was too lazy to purchase acrylic rods, so I used some extra X-wing pegs for the Probe droids. 9/64 inch drill bit gives the peg a nice fit but glue is still necessary.

    Next up is the AT-ST and I’m not sure how take the feet off the base. Is it possible to saw right through it? Would it be easier to cut around it?
