  1. Apologies if this has been asked already and I'm my search skills are poor. I'm invested in many other FFG Star Wars properties (XW, Rebellion, IA) and have picked up a couple of the beginner RPGs now as well. With the recent release of the Imperial Assault AI app on Steam (which is great) - I wonder if there is already in existence or plans for an Game Master AI in a similar vein? I don't have access or time to run a large game with multiple people, so an AI GM would be great so I could play as well (instead of running the game) I know D&D has an AI, and I know of Roll20 which allows virutal / remote gaming, but specifically I'm hoping to find a SW based (or generic? not sure how that would work) Game Master AI

    Playmat question

FWIW - the official FFG Bespin is lovely
  3. I'm a new GM and am planning on using my Imperial Assault cardboard to build out unique locations and such
  4. I'm new to RPGs in general (and my group [family] will be as well) - I'll be acting as the GM and am trying to figure out what the rules are for something that may inevitably happen at some point: I can foresee that one or a couple of my PCs may want to have their characters turn to the dark side at some point. In reading the included beginners game rules I can see that they can choose to use the dark side with some consequences (although that was little murky), but I'm asking specifically if they choose to say, betray the rest of the PCs and side up with the enemy. Is that possible? Do we completely divert from the given adventure and chase that rabbit? Has that happened to anyone else? Like I said, we haven't even started playing yet, but I can imagine this might come up at some point.
  5. Likely known by now but - in case anyone stumbles across the thread like I did: there is a dedicated Force Awakens box coming soon: https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/products/star-wars-the-force-awakens-beginner-game/products/force-awakens-beginner-game/

  7. You mean "new Disney canon comics and books" are getting into the game. This game is largely built off the Legends EU
  8. Ebay not good enough for you? The way the game works there really is no good economic model for this. I buy an extra ship I don't need just to unbox it and sell the one card people want one for $2-$5? Now that the good card is gone, nobody else will likely want just the ship.
  9. I thought the same thing when I saw the Rebels episode they were in
  10. Star Trek Attack Wing feels like it has similar mechanics because they have licensed the mechanics from FFG Sadly, they jumped the gun by a couple of years. The X-Wing game mechanic is entirely ill-suited to Star Trek. The Armada mechanic is what the Star Trek theme is begging for. As others have said, they also have con and tournament exclusives that are almost always overpowered and out of balance
  11. That's a good point, although Maul has disassociated himself from the Sith (at least in word, if not deeds)
  12. I think they have made Vader feel more dangerous than he ever has before. He can actually, you know, move around instead of...lumber.He's even more tough in the new canon comics (especially his own series [of course])
  13. I don't want to take offense at the 'real winger' thing but I don't paint or mod X-Wing stuff because it is already so well done for me already. I have done all of my Imperial Assault kit though. I don't think painting or modding is what a 'real winger' makes - in fact, I don't think there is anything that would merit such a condescending title so I'll take it with a grain of salt and chalk it up to enthusiasm over the news
  14. You can also choose to (or not) avail yourself of the massive debate around what is generally called "Fly Casual" - that is where you will find strong opinions on the "unwritten rules" of d-baggery in X-Wing - ie play to win or play for fun. Welcome!
  15. With what money will you hire the staff, pay for venue rental, etc...? You'd have to increase the cost to enter. At some point, somebody is going to get stuck with the bill for whichever way the cookie crumbles. You're either paying for a room / travel or you are paying to cover the cost of a localized regional
