  1. Target: it's what you stay on. (That should be a commercial slogan.)
  2. Here is something I wonder about. This game seems to require quite a bit of standing and leaning. I personally find standing around and leaning over a table much more exhausting than walking; my back and legs are more tired after a game of X-wing than after a couple of hours of walking. Do any of you sit to play? Can you reach the board? Are some table heights noticeably worse than others? Does your local game shop have good table heights? Do any of you play a couple of games and then have a back ache?
  3. Welcome to the Crew of my Bossk YV-666. The galley is over there, we have free warm chocolate chip cookies.. freshly baked Wookies, you mean.
  4. I like that concept. I guess that's what is meant by the idea of a hyperspeed energy weapon, but the way you phrase it is good.
  5. I think (and hope) that Phasma will be back with a bigger, more important role.
  6. Sort of like how there's enough air in their galaxy's version of space for sound to carry? Exactly! I was reading some of Grimm's fairy tales recently. Those things are nuts. Some are complete nonsense. Some hold together fairly well narratively, but others you just have to say to yourself, "Well, the person who wanted to tell this story obviously found the notion of 'consistent, believable encounters grounded in real-world phenomena' to get in the way of the story he wanted to tell." I am NOT saying this to argue against people who say they prefer more realism; believe me, I sympathize. I'm just saying I personally have reached the point where, when it occurs to me while watching these movies, I just say to myself, "Oh, hell, it's Star Wars and I'm having fun, so whatever." As long as it mostly stays consistent to some kind of internal logic, and the acting is good, and the characters are engaging, I can deal with it.
  7. I think it is a fairy tale with vague details on its technology, which makes it hard for me to speculate. I figured the views of the planetary destruction were from nearby planets, but I guess I was wrong...I don't know, the planetary distances and lights peed travel times are pretty vague in the Star Wars universe. Maybe things are closer together and easier to see in this fairy tale land.
  8. I think it was definitely better than ROTJ. After mulling it over for a few days, I think I'd put it on about equal footing with episodes IV and V. It had some real problems that those two did not; but it also had some strengths that those two didn't have. For me, the plusses and minuses balanced out in such a way that I put it in the top three of the series, and have had a hard time figuring out how to order those top three, so I've just awarded them all a status of "tied."
  9. "That's not how the force works!" "Sanitation?!" "I'm helping you because it's the right thing to do!" "You need a pilot." "I need a pilot" "OK, Big Deal" "Who talks first? Do you talk first? Do I talk first?" "Of course I'm with the Resistance. This is what a Resistance fighter looks like" "I know how to run without you holding my hand!" "I never ask that question until I've done it!" "Ok, stay calm... stay calm" "I am calm." "I was talking to myself!" "What about that ship?" "That one's garbage" BOOM! "Garbage will do!" None usable, not one? Good heavens this one had more quotable lines than the entire prequels combined. And most of those are Finn's. Gotta admit I actually like that guy. "That's not how the force works!" : Some of us in the movie theather were thinking the same at some points during the movie. And the mandatory "I have a bad feeling about this." It's not SW without that line. "Chewie we're home." I'm gonna start saying that whenever I walk into the local gamestore. There were quite a few good lines. Also, some of the very funniest lines weren't actually lines at all, but rather non-verbal head movements or expressions by Chewbacca.
  10. Daughter of both Luke and Leia, hidden and abandoned because of the shame. This is why it didn't work out between Han and Leia, he freaked out. This is why she is super Force-y. She's the series's Joffrey, but cuter and, for now, nicer. Look into your heart. You know it to be true.
  11. USA. I would like it if people started threads on how X-wing differs in other countries - I mean, I know the rules are the same, but there must be some cultural differences between typical X-wing game nights here in Kentucky and those in Tokyo suburbs or a fjord-side game shop in Norway, right?
  12. Huh, I would have said you should let the die roller's opponent choose which dice results to discard, but since rerolling is a majority opinion and works fine, i'd go with that.
