  1. Does anyone know if this is in any of the FFG books? (Ideally looking for official stats for DH) Chainblade Combat Attachment. This small Chainblade is attached to the barrel of a Space Marine Boltgun, acting as a bayonet. I found that info here: http://wh40k.lexicanum.com/wiki/Chainsword

The people at FFG are luck I'm all lazy and such or I'd get some of my friends together and do some online sessions (then post em on Youtube) whereby the Imperium "discovers" the Star Wars Galaxy (in a time and a Galaxy far far away I recall an intro saying > so that aint the Milky Way) Then through the course of the Emperor's will - have the Imperium wreck shop on FFG's chosen product line LMFAO P.S. All them Jedi and Sith sound like nothing more to me then a bunch of dirty psykers (dare I call them Physical Adepts) who are begging for a galactic purging! Morbid

OK needs to vent (maybe some sort of plasma or gas who knows) - but **** - marrying all the Bionics from all the games is gonna be a hassle - now I see what people across the internet are saying about Admech converting issues from DH1 to DH2 - I thought it be as easy as Ohh just forget about the Flesh is Weak + Machine Trait and you should be fine... LOL There are all these esoteric Talents one has to look up - then figure out OK - whats the new prerequisite herein for this since F.I.W. & M.T. are out of the game now - aka dammit LOL I really like the Bionic stuff I saw in the Macharian PDF + what Commediante supplied above - just lots of work ahead cross referencing mostly Morbid

OK - after looking at Macharian Handbook (Tools) I see that I'll need to incorporate alot of the "improved" fluff and descriptions + there are a few things in there that I didn't have in my heretical works! Anyhow - first thing - incorproate the 25 pages of stuff into mine / merge whats the same After that I'll put in the cyber found in the Lathes book... We all know Machine Trait / The Flesh is Weak is gone - on that note I will not be adding that back into our 2nd Edition folio herein... I will from that look at the DH1 books though "stuff" that stacks on more AR than what is given in 2nd Edition will not be used / carried over! Granted since my folio is meant for Humans (not Post-Humans or anything else - save whatever you consider a Man/Woman of Mars) So I will skip over looking at Black Crusade & Deathwatch Books Entirely! So in my work of the past I compiled all the "cyber" I found throughout the RT game line - compared fluff, values, and such - then took what was best and least cheesy or broken and put it into one chapter for my personal game table book... I am giving it away here now since FFG is closing the game line! Granted I took liberties in the Grade Naming - so people who Role Play have "something" colloquially to call said items in-game rather than "hey give me best grade X, Y, Z" ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Also and more importantly - I need to know what I missed from the other lines that "humans" (not post-humans) can use in Dark Heresy 2nd Edition! I have a game concept - its my most powerful House Rule - its called "Dead to Rights" Basically do the maximum damage then add on one righteous fury D10 to that (so if you roll some more 10s then well the damage will increase)... Back to holding grenade in mouth > simply apply Dead to Rights - I'd not apply armor soak to that BTW - can't bite an apple with a helmet between you and the fruit LOL.. Maybe "this" could solve/help grenade eating - i dunno LOL Stay GAMING Morbid

But I wanted to handle the "getting around the place" using x3 challenges - as this is a very secure (dare I say aggro) place to be in the sandbox Granted I wanted to see - how you the community would handle this scenario (rather than me devising it all) Just a little fun for us all on the forum Morbid
  14. OK not gonna pull punches here... I am running a scenario this weekend coming up whereby one of the players in the group (a dirty psyker) is going to try by himself to infiltrate a Megacorp on/in a forgotten world. This "setting" has taken the acolytes to a continental size city scape - within that environment the natives are mostly unaware of the stars and the Imperium that awaits... No need to get into the historic fluff - here's the situation... This "city" I've basically based on Luna City from Mutant Chronicles - with all the factions bells and whistles - the corp the player wants to infiltrate is Cybertronic (I kno great name huh). Lets back up a bit for those unfamiliar with MC - omitting the fluff specifics from MC - lets simplify this scenario to CyberPunk or or Shadowrun. Unlike MC I took the liberty of making the setting "feel" more like SR in that all the natives are psykers - albiet "sleepers" (same terminology and meaning as from Mage - White Wolf - I know I draw from a lot of shht LOL)... While a lucky few (prolly amounting to a million people amongst a population count of 300 million) are "awakened" and able to manifest their psyker abilities! So this now sets the stage (like Shadowrun) whereby the natives are ruled by Corps, militarization of "magic" (aka psykers), and all the technology expected from a Cyberpunk / Shadowrun environment... So in keeping this facet of play manageable and fast (if one player gets to do this alone he shouldn't eat up vast amounts of the group's shared play time) I wanted to break it down into THREE Challenges... Combat Social Exploration (aka Environmental) Now I busted out the old Shadowrun Corporate Security Book and it offers all sorts of stuff I can throw at him. Granted - the player in question has been "given" by a contact a way in via "employment" (somebody in the background hacked and got the player paperwork making our player into a new hired employee LOL) SEE BELOW This facet of play will get the player "in the door" a. Now it does state some sort of "implant" is expected to be installed into our new employee LOL How would you handle that - and if your GM's mind what is the solution (i.e. the answer or workaround) b. ok after meeting with HR and subsequent implantation - the employee is "put" into their department Would you give the player free reign in choosing what department they get to work in? How high up the ladder would you make the player - and if determinate on Tests - which ones or how would you assign them their "role" fairly (I'm not here to end my game by working against the players - I am a true neutral GM) c. Security - here's the real stuff! So the player is going to need to bypass the choiest points of security that they can identify for themselves (i.e. the weakest points) This is where I will challenge them in x3 ways; combat, social, environmental... It should be noted this is a 2000 XP character (thats including the first 1000 they got to spend during character creation) What sort of Combat Challenge would you give? What sort of Social Challenge would you give? What sort of Environmental Challenge would you give? Example - in reading the SR stuff - they got a section on Mag-Locks which come in four grades; Level 1, 2, 3, and 4 My thinking - if it comes to pass - a Level 1 Mag Lock herein should require a Security Test requiring one or more successes to bypass, a Level 2 Mag Lock two or more success, Level 3 three or more, and Level 4 - you guessed it four or more successes! In this way I can "easily" convert the material in the SR book to work with Dark Heresy.... Now one could argue and say - but hey if this is truly primitive "gear" then how come our 41st milleial arses have just as hard a time bypassing shht as the native here do?! My answer - well at least until I hear back from some of you would be - umm your characters firstly don't actuallu understand technology - you only know what certain buttons are supposed to do (like the one labled "power" or "play") otherwise the fine details and reverse engineering (if even in your mind alone) is an impossible feat unless your Mechanicus (and even that is up for debate in certain circles LOL) - thus why its just as difficult for you as these backwards natives... Advise, Suggestions, Comments, Jokes > Let me know - this goes down this Saturday! Ohh - why does the player want to be there > they are looking for an answer - the premise being - this city scape is lorded over by secret Mechanics masters who watch in orbit above - these masters do not want the population to know they are a grand experiment - in gist... The player is trying to identify the big baddie for the end of the adventure - right now they (the group) don't know who's responsible for all this - and thusly who needs to be smited in the name of the Omnissiah and the Emperor!   19. Ahh ok MijRai I can understand you point! I would dare as to say Explorators are a class unto themselves - and thusly are outfitted with "kit" that all other Tech Priests normally don't get... Being that they are the spearhead of the Mechanicus' explansion into the stars - you'd want the beefiest "people" at the fore ready to show all the primitives the glory of Mars!   20. As per Popdart's Logic - I agree! I don't recall anything that says you cannot fire out of close combat. I'd be inclined to allow it but with a -20 penalty due to the melee confusion and not being stabbed as you said. He even goes as far to say you can't shoot "two handed" guns while engaged or being attacked in Melee... Some players will like that - but - I can see a lot of them NOT liking it - personally I like that second caveat as well - I watch a lot of "shooting" vids on youtube from military vids to private gun enthusiasts... Now as per "attacks of opportunity" (from DnD); I love D&D's game mechanic herein - tho El Jairo brings up a good point about "Devastating Assault" which had to be earned - point is if you have to build up towards being able to have multiple "reactionary attacks" then so be it! Back to basics - so we all get ONE SINGLE "reactionary attack" by game default (that's great too) - it'd be the player's choice how and when to use that single attack when its not their turn (goes back to PnP RPGs being a thinking person's game - and not one you can cheese like a video game)...   21. What happened to the Mechanicus Implants from "say" Rogue Trader... I recall being able to build a Mechanicus character with better Armor Points than most other builds? Did DH2 nerf the AdMech build - or am I missing something? P.S. go look up the stat blocks found in the Book "The Lathe Worlds" - you'll see NPCs with all below + armor on top of that - rolling hard! LOL Logis Implant +10 bonus on WS and BS on successful Tech-Use Test. The Explorer may use analytical circuits to calculate trajectory and reactions to a preternatural extent. His ability to read possible outcomes lets him anticipate the movement of his opponents. By using his Reaction for the Round, the character may make a Tech-Use Test to make use of this Talent. He gains a +10 bonus to all Weapon Skill and Ballistic Skill Tests until the end of his next Turn. The Explorer must pass a Toughness Test when he uses this ability or gain a level of Fatigue. Machine Trait A creature with the Machine Trait is fashioned from inorganic materials and is generally more rigorous than fleshy folks. Machines do not breathe, are immune to the effects of a vacuum, extremes of cold, any mind-influencing psychic effect, and their Armour Points apply toward fire damage. Machines are also resilient to injury, having 1 to 5 Armour Points for each location. This number is indicated next to the Trait. The Flesh is Weak (1 to 4) The Explorer’s body has undergone significant bionic replacement to the point where he is far more machine than man. This Talent grants the Explorer the Machine Trait (see page 365) with Armour Points equal to the number of times this Talent has been taken. The Explorer may purchase this Talent multiple times in accordance with his Career Advances. In this case, note the number of times this Talent has been taken, such as The Flesh is Weak 3. Morbid

  23. Inquisitors comes in all flavors - whats interesting is the direction herein - young - may I say brash - playful Inq... All people have their strengths and flaws - I'm gonna guess these Inq's strength lay in investigation maybe>?
