Kallus and Lando preorder is up
Lochlan replied to Billion Year Old Carbon's topic in Star Wars: Legion
From the Lando listing: "This miniature is accompanied by a unit card, his three signature command cards, a flaw card, and six upgrade cards that give you even more ways to use him in battle." From the Kallus listing: "Beyond this, seven upgrade cards—including his J-19 Bo-Rifle—invite you to outfit Agent Kallus for battle, while his three signature command cards help you explore new strategies as you seek to quell rebellion." Lando's listing explicitly mentions a flaw card, whereas Kallus' does not. -

Looks like Lando gets a flaw, but Kallus does not. -
For any effect that causes you to use half of the normal amount of dice, you take the total number of dice, and remove half of that amount from the pool (rounding as required). So, for example, if a naked BARC suffers the Weapon Disrupted effect and the attacker chooses the primary weapon, that weapon (normally RBW) can only add half (round up) of its dice to an attack pool. If it were half (round up) of each color, it wouldn't lose any dice. Since it's from the total dice pool (regardless of color), it loses 1 die.

Trench may be an Admiral, but in two of his three appearances in The Clone Wars he is command of ground forces. In "The Unknown", while he is not directly engaged in the fighting, it's taking place literally right in front of him. In the Bad Batch arc from the final season, Trench is in command of all forces on Skako Minor, and he personally fights Anakin (briefly...), which shows off what weapons he would have in Legion. Also, what other option could possibly be cooler than a humanoid cyborg tarantula? Ventress as a commander is also something I have wondered about. She definitely gives off more of an Operative vibe, but she definitely was in command for several CIS operations, and in at least one episode of TCW the droids refer to her as Supreme Commander. @Decarior may be onto something with Covert Ops.

Every full-Armor Heavy released since the AT-ST/T-47 has red saves, so you're probably right. (Granted it's only a sample size of 3...) Personally I think the AT-ST's defense isn't massively out of line with the new tanks. It definitely needs to cost less, though.

The rest of the world just needs to step up their con game. 😎

Commander Vader doesn't have a training slot, therefore can't equip Defensive Stance. If he could, I do think Juyo would be pretty good on him, and it would certainly be good on Operative Vader (especially if they improve Spur). Being able to get three dodge tokens (with Force Reflexes), two moves, and a melee/Saber Throw would be pretty great. However I don't think they would do that anyway. Maul gets Juyo (or rather, Juyo works the way it does) because he doesn't have Charge or Relentless. And while Vader used many different lightsaber forms (including Juyo), he's not really associated with a specific one like a lot of Jedi/Sith are.

If we ever get Darth Sidious, that might be a thing.
-
Look at the "Darth" Maul cards again: he's just called Maul (despite what it says on the box). And really, the only reason to do this is so that if they ever release a Scum Maul he can use both sets of command cards.
-
It could even be an Ezra-only upgrade card. If it were a Force upgrade, it would be competing against some very good cards, especially if he only has 1 Force upgrade slot (which seems appropriate).
-
You list Situational Awareness as a potential upgrade for Anakin, but he gets Outmaneuver from his 1-Pip. So I don't think we'll see anyone take that. Other than that though, great article!

I will probably end up going with the double-hand grip as well, but only because it's more functional for the tabletop. Aesthetically, I prefer the behind grip.

You can get it up to 8 fairly easily: 784/800 (8 activations) Commanders: - Count Dooku (205): Force Choke (5), Force Push (10), Force Reflexes (10), Aggressive Tactics (10) = 240 - General Grievous (175): Strict Orders (5), Endurance (6) = 186 Operative: - Maul (160): Force Push (10), Saber Throw (5), Tenacity (4) = 179 Corps: - 4× Battle Droids (36) = 144 Special Forces: - DRK-1 Sith Probe Droids = 35 Still room for more upgrades or to swap out a unit or two (eg. you can replace a B1 units with a Sniper Strike Team). The real question is which command cards to take. Personally I'm thinking: • Trained In Your Jedi Arts, • Fear, Surprise, Intimidation, •• Supreme Commander*, •• Double the Fall, ••• You Disappoint Me, ••• At Last, •••• Standing Orders *This is the toughest call I think. Supreme Commander is not the best command card ever, but I think it contributes more in a list like this than Phantom Menace does.

Something I just realized about Juyo Mastery: Maul can double move, Force Push someone into melee with him, then hit them with his Lightsaber. That is huge. I was already fully on board the Maul-Train, but now my mind is officially blown.
-
First draft Maul list I tossed together: General Grievous (175) -DT-57 "Annihilator" (12) -Aggressive Tactics (10) -Strict Order (5) -Endurance (6) Maul (160) -Force Push (10) -Saber Throw (5) -Tenacity (4) -Offensive Push (4)* 2x B1 Battle Droids (36) -E-5C B1 Trooper (18) -HQ Uplink (10) 2x B1 Battle Droids (36) -E-5C B1 Trooper (18) B1 Battle Droids (36) 2x BS-Series Droid Commandos (Strike Team) (20) -BX-Series Droid Sniper (30) DRK-1 Sith Probe Droids (35) 798/800 10 Activations *I think Offensive Push works better here than Offensive Stance. Maul will want to recover for Force Push anyway, so the exhaust requirement isn't much of a negative (especially with the free action from Juyo Mastery). I am also not a fan of the limitation on spending dodges/aims created by Offensive/Defensive Stance. Also, Offensive Push is a point cheaper.

Every single Jedi/Sith/Lightsaber Wielder has Red defense. He would be absolute garbage with White defense (especially since that would make Deflect do almost nothing).
-
Which is hilariously ironic.
-
Yeah, any time you use half your dice, you just remove half of the total number of dice (round down), and you get to pick which dice to remove. So in this case, the four white dice.
-
He does seem like one of the best use-cases. While wounded, he can double move>Saber Throw for 4 Red Pierce 2 Impact 2. He loses a point each of Impact and Pierce compared to Vader/Anakin, but gains a die (and faster movement compared to Vader). And he loses Surge: Crit compared to Op Luke, but upgrades his dice to Red for overall better average damage, plus Luke can't double move before using Saber Throw. But with only two force slots there's going to be a lot of competition for what cards to take (other than Force Push).
-
MotF 2 is crazy good and expensive. Dooku also has a very good built-in ranged attack. Also the ability to completely negate Immune: Pierce is something literally nobody else can do. Juyo Mastery is definitely good, but it's essentially just a slightly better Relentless that only works while he is wounded.
-
I think he also come with Seize the Initiative. I'd have to double check the spread.
-
I suppose it could allow them to use Lethal and reroll dice, but the sniper is so accurate they don't often need to reroll dice. So it doesn't not work with BX snipers, but I don't think it really has a big impact on them (especially since they are competing for the same force org slot).
-
So these seem pretty good. If you hold them back and just use them for Observation they can't be targeted, and as Troopers can interact with objectives when you need them to. They're pretty flimsy, but their offense is actually pretty stellar for their price, not to mention Suppressive. If it were possible to take these without Maul I could easily see people running multiples of these.
-
Yeah, with 8 B1s and at least two other Droid Troopers, that would easily be 10 free orders every turn. Never gonna happen.
