THE MANDALORIAN, in a Civilized Age
Lochlan replied to Imperial Advisor Arem Heshvaun's topic in Star Wars: Legion
Geonosians are also sentient, and Anakin straight up murders a great many of them in episode 2. Also Luke & Co. kill everyone on Jabba's barge is episode 6. Heroes in Star Wars never shy away from mass murder in the name of a cool action scene. -
Lando and Kallus up for pre-order on the store
Lochlan replied to AsmallChicken's topic in Star Wars: Legion
And still no article. I guess they moved article-writing to AMG as well? -
It is the opposite in my area. I was only able to get 1 BX box, but several stores in my area still have STAP boxes sitting on the shelves.

I paint part of each model in a unit with a specific color, with each unit getting a different color. For example, on my B1s I paint the shoulders and upper chest of each Trooper with the unit color, then on unit leaders I also paint the back of the head, and on heavy weapons I also paint part of the backpack. For my six units I have jade, terracotta, red, blue, purple, and yellow.

I also use 6x2 magnets, and have never had issues with minis being held in place. I also don't use green stuff to bridge the gap. However, I am using steel sheets rather than magnetic sheeting, so that might be the difference.

First off, we don't know for sure what T-series commanders are going to do, but if they are going to have Direct (which it looks like they will), that is potentially huge. Second, I'm not saying don't take an AAT. But if you already have a commander in your list, don't take the T-series pilot. Field Commanders add almost nothing as second commanders (which is why nobody was talking about taking them before the RRG update). They don't even have a courage bubble unless they are your only commander, so all they can do in that case is be the nominated commander for generic command cards, and since Aggressive Tactics exists they generally don't want to do that if they can avoid it anyway.

Personally I use black for everything. I have seen many people use different colors for each unit to keep units organized on the table.
-
Two sets is technically enough, but I would recommend a third (either from a third core or just a dice pack). There will definitely be times when you need more than 6 dice.

The current Field Commander options are definitely better than the current generic commanders we have seen, but they definitely don't compete directly with any of the CIS/GAR named commanders. And from the sound of things it seems like the GAR/CIS generic commanders are going to be very compelling. Also, Field Commanders can't take Aggressive Tactics. Not being able to take that will be a pretty big downside of the tank commanders. For CIS specifically, as things currently are I only see three reasons to take the Field Commander: 1) AAT with Maul with more than 8 activations 2) 1 AAT with tons of activations (not even possible until we get the new generic command cards) 3) 2 AATs without trimming almost everything else out of the list (also not possible until we get the new generic command cards) If the list is going to include an actual commander there is almost no reason to include a Field Commander.
-
Potentially neither of those, based on...developments that I don't want to spoil if you haven't seen it. š¤

I disagree on those two. Without the update to the Field Commander rules, nobody was taking the T-Series, and while Aayla probably was seeing some play, she was most likely seeing much less than the other two pilots. This now gives people a meaningful choice to make. Especially with Lok Durdāif he had Field Commander, nobody would ever take the T-Series over him. Also Bounty can only target Commanders or Operatives, and Field Commanders are neither of those.

So I have been thinking that it is odd that they didn't errata Weiss and maybe even Wedge to be Field Commanders, just so every faction could have the ability to do that. But then I remembered that we have two more GCW releases to be announced soon, and I felt that there was a strong implication that they would be vehicles. I would bet quite a bit that this is the case, and that both expansions (most likely an Imperial Troop Transport and a T2-B Repulsor Tank) will include a Field Commander pilot.

If you use card sleeves you can just put them in the sleeve with the actual card, then it doesn't matter what's on the back.

I do a combination. I apply the texture to the base, glue down the model, and later add the details to the base. This requires using super glue to attach the model to the base, as plastic glue won't work.

Star Wars Miniatures moving to Atomic Mass Games
Lochlan replied to Kirjath08's topic in Star Wars: Legion
That is very possible. I would hope, however, that someone would have explained to them that a lot of online video games intentionally use constant balance changes as a way to make money hand over fist, and that the same thing could be applied to X-Wing as well. -
Star Wars Miniatures moving to Atomic Mass Games
Lochlan replied to Kirjath08's topic in Star Wars: Legion
I do agree that it is very unusual that Alex appears to be one of the only major team members to not even be given the opportunity to reapply. ...but I really don't think this is the reason. Even with the rampant balance issues in X-Wing 1.0, I don't think balance hurt the sales of the game at all. However, I do think it is possible that interest from a lot of the player base was waning as a result of those balance issues, and 2.0 requiring them to spend a significant amount of money to keep playing may have been the excuse they needed to drop out. But Armada (which Alex was involved in early on) has been incredibly well balanced for the most part, and Legion has never had a critical, systemic balance problemājust some pretty big outliers. The only reason I have ever seen anyone give for dropping out of Legion was the inability to get the models they wanted due to supply issues. Also X-Wing literally does points changes at least twice a year. 1/year `is not two to three times 2/year. This is also a possibility, but it doesn't make much sense to me. Certainly AMG will need more staff to handle the workload of now working on 300% more games, some of which have much bigger player bases than MCP. And why give Luke Eddy and Michael Gernes (and who knows who else) the opportunity to move over but not Alex? The only explanation I can come up with is that, as Alex is probably the most senior design staff member (he worked on X-Wing, Armada, and Legion), he was probably the highest paid. And since everything Asmodee has done in the past couple years has been to maximize profits, it probably made financial sense to them to cut one of the bigger salaries. -

Stock issues have always been bad with this game. The only way stock issues could be persistently bad despite waning sales would be if the production team could literally see the future. -

The point is, literally none of that has anything to do with Alex Davy or anyone else on the design team. -
Star Wars Miniatures moving to Atomic Mass Games
Lochlan replied to Kirjath08's topic in Star Wars: Legion
Yes, but again, they can't sell more stock if they don't have more stock. If the amount of stock being sold was indeed the problem, then the actual problem was the amount of stock being manufactured. Alex Davy should have been near the bottom of the list for people to blame for that. -
It is probably just to get ready for a future change, but there's nothing even rumored yet that seems like it would have any impact on.

Star Wars Miniatures moving to Atomic Mass Games
Lochlan replied to Kirjath08's topic in Star Wars: Legion
I have serious doubts that that is the problem, though. With few exceptions, new releases sell out completely within weeks, if not days. Kind of hard to sell more models when there aren't more models to sell. So if that was the problem from the higher-ups' perspective, then they fired the completely wrong people. -
It has been confirmed (I think by Luke Eddy) that the new generic commanders will be 55. The T-Series commander apparently will have garbage stats, but very strong keywords. So Direct is a possibility. How strong it is will depend a lot on what unit it can Direct (hard to imagine it wouldn't be B1s though...).

Not to mention most Rebel lists as well. I am definitely fine with the R2 price increase.
-
That's the Mark II upgrade for the X-34. The unit is still 38.
-
The Mark II's effective wounds is 6. The E-Web's is 8. The Mark II averages 3.5 Hits. The E-Web averages 3.875. The E-Web has Surge: Crit, which is technically better than Surge: Hit with Critical 2 (though it will rarely actually produce more crits). No Fire Support is definitely a thing, but the E-Web can also take the generator upgrades (which are now only 3 points) to add more firepower (e.g. another .75 hits and Suppressive). Also the E-Web is less than 50% more than a Mark II, not more than double the cost.
