  1. What just happened? That post looks like Shakespear in the park, dude shows up out of nowhere and berates a seemingly random poster for pointing out that the original poster DEMANDED to be Paid By the Hour for constructive advice. And then when that person bites back he just Quits L5R Forever! **** dude, I WISH I could be that influential. But seriously look at the original post. He basically says Spoils of War = Spyglass, which is laughably untrue. And then follows up with, "Pay Me! I'm Important!!" How are we supposed to take this seriously?
  2. If this cycle has 4 strongholds I might need new pants
  3. How about this argument... because I'll admit my point about skill has been refuted. So how about a simple; Why Not? Who suffers from this desicion?
  4. So Worlds is the epicenter for the most sought after and rare promos. Backhanded Compliments are basically all gone. So my question is this.. How do you decide which cards should be promos at Worlds specifically? And will there be any intention to make more copies of [not prize] promos like Backhanded? And finally.. any chance we can take a peek under the hood for any of the promos that are going to be available at Worlds?
  5. So coming from another thread I decided to make one so we can all smash beer bottles in rage at one another! The jist... Aniel was King during his reign as a Dragon player because he has a photographic memory. When he uses Kitsuki Investigators he can remember not only what was in your hand at the time but what you have and have not used from your hand 2 turns from that exposure. All without notes, it IS a tactical advantage and those who can do this without pad and pencil have a STRICT advantage over those who can't. So why NOT allow note taking? This is a strategic game for more than a simple memory game right?
  6. It's cards like Gossip and the new SH that should absolutely encourage note taking! Second, to refute your point on using it as a stall tactic is fallacious. MTG has had legal note taking since the 90's and they STILL play best two out of three in 1.5hrs. And if you think there hasn't been a "Gossip" like effect in Magic then you're very wrong. There have been cards in MTG that make Gossip look weak by comparison. The peak being "guess a card, reveal their hand, discard all copies" BUT I DIGRESS! The desicion is up to the OP team, and I sincerely hope they side with note taking
  7. With the number of cards that ask you to remember what's in your opponents hand and deck, I ask; will taking notes mid game be made legal for worlds? And if not, is there any intention to do so in the future?
  8. True but thats why it's 6 fate. This in tandem with the concept that cards like Everyone Has a Price and Bribery have powerful effects but require you to discard koku from characters you control. So you can forgo ALL mantis/koku cards for the ability to keep ONE personality in play the entire game... tbh I haven't tested it so I'd be interested in the idea. Also while I'm here... Exquisite Tastes 2 Fate Action: remove one koku from any number of characters - honor those characters. "Honor and Glory seem to be pretty cheap these days" ------- Force by Proxy 0 Fate[maybe 1 not sure] Action: Target a participating character you control and remove one koku him - Send him home and reduce the province strength by his [mil] skill. You may remove a koku from him, then straighten him. ------ Stuff like this is what I imagine the Mantis doing.
  9. Kyuden Yoritomo 10 honor/6 fate/15 influence During the fate phase if any character in play has 0 fate, discard 1 koku from that character instead of discarding them. Action: place one koku on a character you control ------- Bribery 1 fate Action: Move a Koku from a character you control to a participating character your opponent controls - move that character home. Bow them. --------- Usury 0 fate One Per Deck Interrupt: before you remove the last koku from a character you control - place 1 koku on them instead. "Interest seemed to be the greatest weapon the Mantis had ever devised." -------- Corrupt Magistrates 3 Fate Magistrate Bushi 2 mil/2 pol/0 glory Reaction: after they enter play either remove one koku from a character or place one koku on a character --------- Everyone has a Price 0 fate Action: remove any amount of Koku from characters you control - target and discard a character with glory less than the amount of Koku removed
  10. I'm putting money on Ronin or Stablemaster because this is the internet
  11. Simple Answers are almost always best.. In GO a 6th Dan vs 4th Dan; much more often than not the 6th Dan will win. If both players played to the best of their ability, however; we know this not to be the case. Even in this match ups the percentage win rate is somewhere in the 60-70% in 6th Dan favor. To put it in even simpler terms.. "The player who makes the fewest mistakes wins"
  12. The Susumu Sisters [5 Fate] Spider Clan * Twins * Courtier * Shadowlands 2 Mil/5 Pol/0 Glory Action: Discard the Imperial Favor or lose 3 honor - bow target personality. You may not use this action during a conflict. "It's easy for a man to lay down laws and rules he knows he won't have to follow"
