  1. When you go to a tournament after some broken/boring net-list gets proven, and that's all you see setting up across the table from you; again, and again, and AGAIN!
  2. The way you feel for several rounds after losing your ace to a blank out in the first round of combat
  3. That's because you thought the artwork was for Soontir Fel, but secretly its been FEL'S WRATH all along, gone, but not quite gone 😄
  4. You can also try crushing phantoms with your Huge Ship to blow them up instantly. Huge ships usually have enough energy to use stop or 0 yaw maneuvers to "camp" out by the objective like a goal keeper. Just wait for the Phantoms to come at you, then dial in the straight five or big swing 3 and run them down! Also, to be fair, an epic scenario that only lasts a few rounds can actually take over an hour to play with all those points and bonus attacks on the board, so even if you did manage to end the match in 3 rounds, that's still a decent amount of game play (IMO).
  5. Yes, absolutely this^^. Dont let it stop your Epic enthusiasm for Epic! It's all part of that silly "charm" that makes FFG FFG. ðŸĪŠ The game is still awesome, the improvements are great, and its very fun to play Epic now.
  6. Unfortunately, the redesign is significant and the new movement tool is engineered to work directly with the new base design. The movement range is different, and the hook and base interface is changed. It's much better than 1.0, but it does make the 2 versions non-interchangeable. Edit; OTOH, if its "uber casual" I suppose you could just make your own house rules for how the maneuver template works... It would be more loose play, but could be done.
  7. Agreed. It's not going to stop me from forcing those pegs in and putting those awesome Huge ships on the table, just a shame. Will probably be able to get the cardboard issue resolved with some pen knife scraping on the base peg holes, so the base can fit over the peg holes properly, but again, too bad they didn't just work out of the box. The pegs are the worst part though. They redesigned them to fix the turret arc indicator issue, (so the 1.0 epic pegs are incompatible with the new base plates), but there are some very tight tolerance issues with the interlocking plastic where peg is supposed to fit into base. One of the many other good surprises though was the inclusion of the full on plastic maneuver template! A very nice upgrade from the cardboard 1.0 version.
  8. As others have recommended; do the pre-made lists. The Epic stuff has quick-build cards included. So you do not even have to build the lists yourself, just find the quick build cards and bring what is listed on them. I would recommend running the "Passing Engagement" scenario from the Epic Battles. Set up your two mats, and set up each mat as a 2 V 2 drop in game. Use the quick-build cards for 1 Huge ship load out + 1 squadron, using the new Wing tool for each team. (Quick build Luke and 4 X wings vs Quick build Vader and 5 Black Sqd TIEs works well) You only need to use 2 Dials for this, which lets one player easily manage both the Huge Ship, and the Squadron, or 1 team member fly's the squadron and 1 team member fly's the Huge ship. Additionally, there are two shuttles per team, so those can be split between two players, or easily managed by 1 player at a time. This lets you easily do drop in drop out if play is casual, and you can have multiple epic games going on with only your two play mats. Good Luck! Edit: Also, I recommend running the Epic Scenario without obstacles. There is so much to focus on with the Huge ships and the new design stuff, you really do not need obstacles to enjoy this scenario. Its not 6 + 200 v 200 death match. And its much more fun for new/younger/less experienced players without the obstacles 🙂
  9. Yes, I too have experienced the same issue with the new bases and the 1.0 huge ships. I also am finding the base punch is off by a millimeter or two, resulting in the cardboard forcing the pegs out of position, or forcing the cardboard to bow/lift up on one edge, not sitting flush on the base. Lastly, the revised epic pegs in my conversion kit do not all want to seat securely in the base plastic. Some of them slide in and seat properly, but others do not and I am having to either force them into the base, or settle for having them sit slightly high off the base, which enhances the wobbly aspect of the loose fit into the Huge ship peg posts....â˜đïļ
  10. That is a tough situation. Since, presumably the player did not intentionally bring a base and token combo that did not fit together on purpose, its neither players fault. Since the round was already in progress, I would had the two players roll a die for it. If the shuttle player wins the roll, they get the arc. If the opponent wins the roll, it's no arc, no shot. That way, at least it feels like both players have a chance and are not being ruled against for something out of their control. Post round, I would have called for another token plate, to see if the token, or the base was the the problem. If you could proxy another base token (one that fit properly), I would have done that for consecutive rounds, assuming that was not the final round.
  11. Something about that Mando chrome ship gives me Serenity/Firefly vibes.
  12. OR, you can just sleeve the decks with Star Wars Card sleeves that match, since the cards will be standard size now...
  13. So THAT's where all that footage of Kylo with his shirt off came from...
  14. So, Dos this Silencer look grey to anyone else? I love the re-sculpt on the new version, the engine detail and the panel lines are all more interesting and sharp; and the new size is great too, but I was a little surprised the actual model is still all black (save the engine glow and cockpit) given it really looks grey and black on the web site. I understand they do digital renderings vs actual pics for these things, but I can't recall a time before where the color scheme was so different from actual product? Is it just me?
  15. :Illicit or Crew if Squad Includes Temmin Wexley 1 Charge, 10 Pts. "Mister Bones" When attacking, after the neutralize results step, if the defender would be reduced to 1 Hull, you may spend 1 charge to add 1 (crit) result to your roll.
  16. Actually, its not spelled "Canon", its spelled: C O W B E L L He's saying he wants more "Cowbell" (for Slave I)
  17. Use small ships only: Give each player 1 named pilot with matching dial and 2 generic wing men of the same ship type During set-up, increase your deployment zone from range 1 to range 2 Use the new Epic Wing tool (see below) where the leader is the only one who sets a dial and the wing men just move with him\her during the activation step (ships still engage in Initiative order) Restrict wing-men action options to focus or calculate only If the Wing Leader is destroyed, any remaining wing men are counted as 1/2 points and instantly flee the battle Any overlaps (bumps) cause all ships involved to be dealt 1 face up damage card (ignores shields) Enjoy !
  18. Yeah, tech has never seemed to be a priority for FFG (in case you haven't tried the builder app yet and figured this out); they seem to focus more on analog stuff than security updates, patches, spell check, etc . Probably why they make (awesome) table top games instead of video games 😉
  19. Well, obviously that was like wave 2-3, 1.0 Falcon; back when anyone could fly fat turrets with no skill required 😄
  20. Incorrect. Leia is seen seated in Hans chair during the escape from cloud city, and when rescuing Luke from the antenna thing below cloud city after he gets his hand chopped off. Ironically, during the movie scenes depicted on both Han solos Pilot art and Chewies Pilot art, Leia is the one in the "captains chair" and the one giving the orders.😋
  21. That's a neat idea. Would be pretty easy to do by making it a dual sided card; one side Gunner slot, the other side Crew slot. keep it dotted so you can't spam it; fun design space.
  22. Instead of crew, you could make him a Gunner upgrade: When attacking, if the defender is in your (rear arc) your attack cannot be obstructed. When you are declared the target of an attack, if the attacker is in your (rear arc) gain one calculate token or assign the attacker 1 stress token. 10pts. Cuz, ya know, he sees through "obstructions", can't sneak up on him from behind, he is calculating, and he kinda stresses Finn and company out. Could be pretty good on a TIE sf...
  23. Looks to me like the (Disney) PIXAR lamp finally got tired of jumping everywhere, so it turned its base on its side to make a wheel and started driving around instead.😏 Hopefully all its bleep-bloop dialogue is voiced by John Ratzenberger
