From Twin Shadows rulebook:
Some abilities allow a figure to perform an attack with a different attack type and attack pool than their normal attack.
- When a hero performs an attack using an attack pool unrelated to his weapons (such as the melee attack from “Close and Personal” on Biv Bodhrik’s Hero Sheet), he cannot use any abilities from his weapons during that attack.
- When a figure corresponding to a Deployment card performs an attack using an alternate attack pool (such as the melee attack from “Close and Personal” on Biv Bodhrik’s Deployment card), they may still trigger their surge abilities, unless the ability triggering the attack states otherwise.

I thought the deal with C&P was to recover strain as much as possible and just go for the bayanet.
-
Yeah, while getting Vader's RRY attack is sweet, you don't have access to the incredible surge abilities he have.
-
The artwork style on her character card is also very different from the rest of the characters.

I'm really excited to use Verena, but I'm having a hard time figuring out whether to go towards melee or ranged. I guess we need to see her starting weapon and the rest of her stats (and the other new weapons) in the set, but I feel like Vibro Knucklers could be a lot of fun. The other thought would be the the DDC Defender+Spread Barrel, which would give her a much higher chance of defeating a figure and triggering Close Quarters.
I bet it is a pistol.

Someone on BGG talks about a power creep in this expansion, that would really be a shame, but I don't really see that. the core heroees are still pretty brutal when fully leveled.
I hope they'll make Verena able to utilize melee weapons properly, we need more heroes with melee focus. She has one ability that's pistol dependant, perhaps her other 3xp'er is melee dependent? Would be cool.
EDIT: aand yeah. the art of Verena is off compaered to the rest of the game. Was another artisk used for her?

THere was the depate on how cunning would interact with weaken and this situation is somewhat similar.

Would the Repulsor Tanks "Defensible" stack with "Reactive Armor"?
-
That vehicle class is looking cool! Focussing on one or two big units and spending all your threat on those. Can see the Repulser tank wound two heroes in a single round <3

Playing second mission as Biv yesterday against ST. My plan was to go for Vibro-Bayanet ASAP, but already in this mission I found myself strain started. I consider buying Shake It Off (and perhaps get Survivalgear) for next mission, hope to win it to get 2XP and then buy the bayonet to become gain a very powerfull C&P with almost guarenteed good amdg and surge recovery. I will probably avoid Crushing Blow as I need my surges for strain recovery.

It's a very cool agenda set, but it's on the bottom of my to-buy list in regards to IA
-
It's doesnt ruin anything, but it does make it harder for the rebels, forcing them to take other abilities then they would have otherwise.

There's nothing in the rules that says you can or can't do it. So just do it. It will only enrich the game.

Cool!
Hmm, the regular HG seems cool as a filler for an open group, but I cant see how I would ever choose a group of elite HG over a group of troopers

I think the max threat you can have is 20

I would just hate to cover up the pretty backsides of the cards :/

It really should say on the pack which expansions are required
