Belvasques reacted to Abyss in Wrecking Crew speculation
Comics wise, the Wrecking Crew are basically a bunch of thugs who got Asgardian level powers due to a magic crowbar (Yes, really). They're pretty much the textbook definition of mooks.
Anyway, gameplay wise I'm kind of expecting they might just replace Villain 1/Villain 2 with the various members of the Wrecking Crew, so four smaller dudes. It's probably the least ambitious take, but it's still early in the games lifespan so they might not be going too crazy just yet. Then again, GG breaks the mold a bit as well, so maybe they're coming out of the gates full force. In that case, they could be a full four member team.
I'd expect their deck to have a lot of 'If such and such is in play'. This is where them being a full team would shine, as it would let you make more some more strategic decisions about who to go after.

Starting line up is excellent. Spiderman and Iron man are your staples. Panther and Marvel are recent additions into the mainstream awareness of super heroes. She-hulk is a hero not many people know about and its cool to experience new things. If they blew their wad with cap, spidey, stark, hulk, and thor in the core, then we wouldn't get to be hyped when that first cap hero pack drops.

Also Hulk's alter-ego would be Bruce Banner, which is another scientist lile Peter and Tony.
It is better to havesomething a bit more unique in the core.
Also you may just see it as "pandering" but there are female players. Even as a male, I like female characters. There is mothing wrong with having gender balance (if you consider 2/5 a balance).
As for villains, it makes no sense to blow your load early. And the 3 villains in core have a narrative connection with vibranium. Rhino steals, Klaw sells, and Ultron does something with it.

Marvel Miniatures (Crisis Protocol) has nothing to do with FFG. The company who make it is also owned by Asmodee, so they let then share the stage at GenCon for marketing reasons.
To OP's question, I think it's likely, but also, I think they may just really want to push their new LCG.

Belvasques reacted to CitizenKeen in Why is Ms. Marvel a hero? [solved]
    Four reasons...
One, she's awesome. Disney has made a push for her, and I'm sure Fantasy Flight follows in lock-step. Marvel's Super Hero Adventures (the Marvelverse where Spider-Man and Iron Man team up to stop Ultron from stealing a dump truck, targeted at 3 year olds) has her featured prominently. Two, she's a woman. More specifically, she's a teen girl, meaning she's got more in common with kids than grown women. Want to sell more packs and come across as inclusive? I'm not going to belabor this point, because you've already mentioned it. Three, she's an under-represented minority. Some people argue that's pandering, some people argue that's inclusivity. I think it's the latter, people who complain when Disney makes a push for a more diverse cast are already losers and lost causes. Fourth, she's not in a movie. I think that's important. Fantasy Flight wants to make it clear this is "all of Marvel", not just the comics. So, using the examples you chose, nobody hits all of those points.
Let's just rule out the ones who've been in movies, because the easiest way to distinguish this game from 90% of the Disney merch is to move beyond the movies. So that leaves Black Cat and Squirrel Girl.
Black Cat is (a) white, and (b) hyper-sexualized, so maybe not the best choice for a family game. Squirrel Girl is (a) very divisive, and also, (b) white.
The X-Men and Fantastic Four have already been established as off-limits, because I'm sure there's a box set or two coming.
So, if we accept that Disney is making a push for a more diverse cast (and we should, because they're right), I ask:
Who is a better choice, if we want a non-white, non X-Men, female character who hasn't appeared in a movie?
I don't care what anybody's answer to that question is, because I think at that point there's no clear winner. Ms. Marvel is dope and is as good as any other answer to that question.

With all the talk of the Occupier tank, I rewatched the ambush scene of Rogue one, and now I'm trying to duplicate some of it's deserty urban combat feel in Legion.  These are my current buildings.  At the very least, I'd like to double what I have here, and add an additional overpass/walkway for more sniper positions and vehicle obstructions.  Stay tuned.  Hoping to have a full table worth of terrain by a Feb 16 tournament my local game store is hosting.

    Great post!

Yeah, I love how the titles started kinda like almost Star Wars archetypes in the Core set:
    Haunted Exile
    Hardened Veteran
    Fierce Warrior
    Valiant Commander
    The Smuggler
    Bold Renegade

Branched out a bit with Twin Shadows:
    Brilliant Engineer
Vengeful Guerilla (ironically before Saw Guererra gained mainstream recognition)

Adapted to more traditional tabletop roles with Return to Hoth
    Cunning Operative
    Deadly Marksman
    Loyal Medic

    Really dug deep with Bespin
    Codename "Hawkbat"
    Master of Intelligence

Went with a theme in Jabba's Realm
    Daughter of Mandalore
    Reckless Vigilante
    Furious Bodyguard

Rejected the idea of theme in Heart of the Empires
    Demolitions Expert
    with "Jax
    Rebel Quartermaster

And now have branched out into more sci-fi elements outside of what we know as just Star Wars
    Cybernetic Brawler
    "Wildfire"

It's really given the game a ton of flavor. I mean, the characters we know and love (stormtroopers, wookies, Maul) all help to do that too, but this also gives the game its own legs to stand on without relying totally on nostalgia, and you gotta respect that.

During one campaign, for instance, I used heroes from a previous (Imperial won) campaign as prisoners instead of tokens. My Rebels were actually pretty upset to see their former heroes locked up (and eventually executed). Amazing that these seemingly blank slates could illicit that emotional of a response.

For sure!  I'm sure part of it is that, unlike the movies which would require a bunch of puppetry and/or CGI, adding a member of an alien species as a character in the game is as easy as coming up with a good idea and then adding some art.  The rest is left up to the player's imagination, which often times ends up being more exciting than whatever the production team would have come up with otherwise.  The little titles that you pointed out ("brilliant engineer", "valiant commander", etc.) only add to this, as it lets each player come up with a cool backstory in their head based that and the little thematic bits and pieces on their class cards, personal missions, etc.

I've heard a lot of people complain that they don't get to play as Luke, Han, Leia, etc., but I'm like you in that I like it better this way.  It makes the Star Wars galaxy feel like it's bigger than one family.  Also, I will go to my grave insisting that Biv Bodhrik is one of the coolest Star Wars characters out there

After watching Rogue one, Last Jedi and Solo its made me appreciate how diverse and storied the characters in Imperial Assault are.  It has struck me as kinda odd the way we never really see any main characters as aliens, besides well chewy but that iss a free pass at this point. Rebels did well with both Hera a Twilek and Zeb a lasat. It makes Star Wars feel like its in a galaxy far far way not here on earth. The core set has a twilek, wookie, bothan which is fantastic.
One of the big things I love is how each character story is captured with just 2 words that also acts like their class. "Haunted Exile , Brilliant Engineer " also just the visual design is clean and effective. Saska with her numerous data pads around her hip, goggles on her neck and busy fixing a blaster tells so much about about the character.
I know Star Wars is going through a messy time right now, but I do want to give credit to the FFG Story and development department for making characters I want to see in Star Wars.

A courage value of 3 is almost as good as infinite. In fact, maybe better because you benefit from cover with the suppression tokens.
That said, I once had Luke die with 9 suppression tokens on him . The guy just didn’t want to go down!

What is a suppression test? Do you mean checking if it is suppressed? For that you just check the courage value on the suppressed unit, the commander's courage value is only used for checking Panic.
As Darth Vader does not have a courage value, units in his radius are immune to Panic.

Belvasques reacted to Orkimedes in Can stormtroopers units use Darth Vader's courage value for suppression tests?
He has a courage value, which is ‘-‘.  Trooper units near Vader cannot panic.
Stormtroopers will still lose an action if they have a suppression token after their rally step, as any trooper would with a courage of ‘1’.  Commander courage value is only relevant for panic.
