Robin Graves reacted to saluk64007 in Vladr vs elusive on a flak
It cannot be + power as that would let valdr survive longer, since power=hits that can be sustained. It's a damage symbol, but there is no "direct damage" concept outside of our own cultural shorthand for what that means.
There are other concepts that would be better used to indicate that the 2 damage bypasses elusive: "when attacking a flank creature, valdr gains assault 2" or "before fight: if attacking a flank creature, deal 2 [dmg]". Since these common features were not used, we can infer valdr is intended to function differently.
The added damage is then most likely a buff to the damage dealt by valdr's power, and is blocked by elusive.

I'm curious how you come to that decision.
The rules clearly state that elusive does not stop ability damage. It only stops damage from power
Why is valdrs damage not ability damage? And why would it not say +2 power until end of turn?
It is clearly a direct damage symbol. And if power does 0 damage, 0+2 is still 2.

This is ability damage:
Valdr is not, he is adding 2 to the damage he normally does. Not apart from the damage he normally does.

If it had been worded "Deals 2[D]" it would be outside the normal attack, but since it is "Deals *+*2[D]" is is in addition to the normal power attack and is negated by elusive.

Robin Graves got a reaction from TheVeteranSergeant in A New Order
Yeah Honestly between Jar jar and rose I don't know who I hate more. Only good thing was Mark Hamil. (and snoke calling out emo ren about cosplaying as Vader)
Not that it unduely upset me tough. I've given up on the Saga. I got the OT and it's still awesome, (and R1 was also good so it can hang with them) but all the rest: prequels, "special" editions, Dismals* they are just bad.
* Dismals: My word for the Disney movies. ep VIII, IX, probably X and Solo. But not Rogue one.

I play both and I'm SO glad this isn't magic.
If it was we'd all be playing Untamed/Dis/logos, running the same combo (Restinguntus, Control the weak, Dominator bauble and Witch of the eye) all those cards would cost a ton of money and people would hate playing against that deck.

I'll buy it, if part of the story takes place in Violence Harbor.

I believe you are playing it correctly.
You think she's self destructive, you should see the Horseman of Famine go out there alone...(not saying I have, I've just heard stories)

Robin Graves reacted to TheSpitfired in Unopened KeyForge deck has mismatched Archon card.
Ha! My guess would be you send in the error and they send you two new decks, just like with the naughty names. Don't know for sure though.

Robin Graves reacted to Sergovan in Unopened KeyForge deck has mismatched Archon card.
Now here is a question. Which deck do they replace? You have half of two decks?
-
Robin Graves reacted to dperello in Stop trying to make this Magic!
It's a 1v1 battling card game designed by Richard Garfield in an attempt to fix some of the issues he has with certain aspects of Magic. An argument could be made that it doesn't require any comparison to another game, but if it's going to be compared to anything, isn't Magic the most likely candidate?
-
Robin Graves reacted to CaptainJaguarShark in Stop trying to make this Magic!
So we should compare it to Pokemon or Yu-Gi-Oh, then, right?
-
Robin Graves reacted to TechnoGolem in Stop trying to make this Magic!
Magic is the biggest card game. It's understandable that people will compare the two.
That said, I like this game because it is not trying to be another magic clone.

Luckily no fatalities and no buildings burned. Wich is impressive if you see the video. Don't play with fire kids!

Robin Graves reacted to saluk64007 in One Stood Against Many with 0, 1, 2 enemy creatures in play
The effect doesn't stop happening if a fight doesn't happen - but you can only reap once. The sequence with zero enemies would be:
Ready; Can't fight; already ready; can't fight; already ready; can't fight. This leaves the creature ready when One Stood Against Many finishes resolving. Now you can reap.
