  1. I already emailed the creators of BBTM several months ago but i always received the same answer : "impossible to give information because of the confidentiality policy".

We just have to check out the news every day, with much patience to bear the endless news about star wars the card game, star wars imperial assault, x-wing, star wars the roleplaying and so on.....

  2. But the question is : why should they stop whereas there is still the possibility to release other teams (12) compared to those from the boardgame and the computer game ?

Why should FFG stop at midway whereas the selling of this game and its two expansions was successful ??

It would be nonsense and stupid.

  3. There is absolutely no reason why there will not have new expansions.

First, because this is the best card game ever.

Second, because it was sold very well among fans all over the world.

Third, because a LCG would not be adapted for bbtm.

Fourth, because we did not receive any official information that this game stopped.

And finally fifth, because there is still the possibility to create 4 or 5 more syndicates !!!

    1) halfelings, amazones, lizard-men

    2) norses, high elves, bretonnians

    3) khorn demons, khemri, necromantics

    4) ogres and snotlings, underworld, slanns

And even a fifth one with the chaos humans (like in the first version of the boardgame), the hobgoblins (with the troglodyte as the "big guy" still like in the first bb gameboard), and the chaos pact. And even the Elves (not sylvan, not dark, and not high) may be included in one of these 5 syndicates.

According to me, the delay for a third expansion is due to the development of the differents products concerning star wars these last times by FFG.

So don't worry fans, and be as optimistics as i am !

  4. Maybe someone will ask Jay Little (the creator of bbtm and sudden death but not foul play) on twitter for more information about an eventual expansion to come ?

    Here is the link :

Sorry, personnally, i don't have any twitter account !

  5. I think the game is fleshed out in terms of game mechanics, but yes, team expansion packs (maybe in-house printing?) would be great.

Main races we don't have atm:

    Amazons

    Norse

    Halflings

    High Elves

    Khemri

    Necromantics

So there's enough variety in there to make a few interesting teams with the existing ruleset, although to be complete, some might require either expansions of the game to use all the skills/abilities.

And don't forget the lizard-men, the khorne demons, the bretonnians, and the ogres with the snotlings !

I think that there are still game mechanics to find, like taking back cards from the discard deck or things like that. And other new skills like "claws" (for the yeti or the snow troll of the norse, for instance).

There is still the possibility for FFG to release 2 and may be 3 expansions, with a new die and other card decks like magic items or bad tricks.

    Let's keep hoping !

  6. For the next expansion, i would well see a new dice and magic items/bad tricks cards (like in the board game). It would add more fun to the game i think, and, of course, a new syndicate with 3 "jungle" teams : the amazons, the halflings, and the lizard men.

    May be in November ?

  7. So if there is less work concerning the rules (and the limited number of teams) than for Talisman, the BBTM creators could go faster to release new (even limited) expansions ! Why are we waiting for such a long time ? And i am sure that i am not the only one to complain about that.

Let's make it clear,  i am not asking for BBTM as many expansions as for Talisman, it would be unreal, i am just hoping and asking for a faster release of the few expansions to come.

Concerning the number of teams in Blood bowl, there were 23 teams in the PC game "blood bowl chaos", which represents the 3 rd edition of the blood bowl  board game but on the computer.

  8. How long  it is  to get a new BBTM expansion ! When i see that Talisman has 13 expansions since the release of the core game, and that this 13 th expansion just released only 5 months after the 12th one, i am disgusted....

  9. This is already the title of the fourth book by Matt Forbeck about blood bowl (sorry, i didn't see the link) !

But it would be a good idea concerning a "jungle syndicate", with the amazons, the lizard-men, and the halfelings, for a next expansion.

It's just a pity that an expansion comes out every two years !

  10. Despite their "weakness" (low star powers), the dark elves can be very dangerous if they are successful in their tackles.

Don't forget that they have both the "frenzy" skill of the orcs and the "dauntless" skill of the dwarfs !

Well used, theses skills can do some serious damage on strong opposite players. And don't forget their down skills.

I think that the dark elves team is a little under-estimated.

The weakness is more on the coach who doesn't use them well than on the team itself, i think.

  11. Great idea arwaker, i'll encourage you !

    1) Concerning your syndicate LGA, i would have chosen the halfelings instead of the high elves (we have already two elves teams it's enough, let's keep it for another extension, although your high elves team look pretty good), and i would have called it the TJS (tribals jungle syndicate) or something like that.

The halfelings would be in the same way that the goblins (with the stunty capacity, or may be titchy, jump up, or leap !), with two tree men , and a new capacity like "take root", and "throw team mate" for them.

    2) Your amazons team is great. Nothing more to say about it. Dauntless (vallkyrie) and juggernaut (undine) fit them well.

    3) The composition of your lizardmen team is good, but i would have added the "prehensil tail" instead of juggernaut for the kroxigor. Don't forget that the "big" character of 4 star power always has a special (and new) capacity.

Keep on going ! I am in a hurry to see your "hand-made" stars, like zara the slayer (amazones) or silibily (lizard men).

  12. Actually, I see no rule stating when stadium penalties are applied. (That is to say, some kind of special distinction) It seems to me that the governing rule is that "Each time a manager receives a penalty, he draws one Penalty card from the Penalty deck and places it facedown in front of him without looking at it."

I think (and I could be wrong) that where it says Penalties revealed on cheating tokens are applied at the end of the Reveal Cheating Tokens step" means by "applied" that you dole out the facedown penalty cards at that time to account for ejections. Remember that ejections negate all other cheat tokens on that player including (as best I can tell) penalties. To have two different sets of penalty resolution times seems too persnickety even for an FFG game. :)

    Scottgun, i think you might be....right !

I did not account for the ejection tokens and for their eventual effect on the penalty cards.

Your explanation seems to be more logical. But if we could get an official confirmation from FFG, it would be more secure.

    Well done !

  13.

So the penalties from cheating tokens can remove improvements already gained? Sounds a bit harsh.

Yes, for example, when you lose fans or when you have to return team or staff upgrades at the bottom of their deck.

I only mention what is written in the rules.  The "revealing cheating token" step is before the "collecting payouts" step, and the latter is before the "revealing improvement pile" step.

  14. Hi veector,

the penalties from the cheating tokens are applied at the end of the "revealing cheating token" step of the scoreboard phase (p 2 of the foul play rules) so BEFORE  you collect the payouts and improvements (look at the back page of the BBTM handbook, all the phases and steps are mentionned).

the penaties received from the restrictive effects of stadiums that you broke are applied at the end of the "reveal improvement pile" step of the scoreboard (p 2), so AFTER you collected the payouts and improvements.

So to answer your last question, penalties doesn't always apply to your improvement pile and may remove improvements already gained , it just depends when you got them.

  15. Concerning the PPG syndicate (my favourite one !), i would have more seen the chaos dwarves in the CWC (Chaos...) syndicate and conversely, the orcs team in the PGG (Putrid...) syndicate. It would have been more logical.

Another singularity of the syndicates is the presence of downed skills (and among them, regeneration ), not only in the DSS one. It would have been more regular to find them only in the DSS (Sorcery) and not also in the PGG, because this is a specificity of it's own.

In the same way, the FOUL skill is specific to the PGG (and mainly to the tricky goblin team). If we'll find again the FOUL skill in the next expansion, i think that this would be a kind of "spiritual betrayal" of this syndicate and it's a pity.

So we won't be amazed to find another originality in an eventual next syndicate (a "jungle" one) including the lizard-men, the amazons, and the....norses ! Although a slanns team would be more suitable.

    Well, wait and see.
